Gibeon looks like a schoolteacher ready for retirement. He’s counting down the days. 😅
Some other interesting details that you didn't mentioned are the facts that Orla said she's making some improvements to the brave asagi. And that Amethio apparently doesn't get along with his dad.
Also, I'm pretty sure Spinel wasn't just disguised. I think he actually seems works there (or at the very least, he seemed to be working there temporarily).
Also, the image of hattrem trying to beat Tandemaus at the end was pretty funny.
Don't know if anyone mentioned this. The logo of the Exceed company (0:54) appeared before in ep16 on the cargo ship that Spinel used to escape. It just shows that someone in the company is helping the Explorers all along. I just can't imagine that a pokemon anime can have so many well-written forshadowings.
That is an attention to detail that I love.
Horizons really does keep exceeding my expectations! It's insane how much time and care they're pouring into this story, from the very beginning!

It's not exactly my reason, but it just feels too different. Tried getting into it but fell off so quickly.
i gave 5 episodes and it was trash.
The minute the researchers database got hacked I quickly knew the Explorers were up to it plus with the ominous music i knew it had to the Explorers actions and it was great seeing Friede get focus again. And now Amethio is so important now knowing hes the Grandson of Gibeon.
Man, what an episode! It didn't really have as much friede as I thought but they totally made up for that with the Explorers, especially at the end! Gibeon's full reveal blew me away, he looks absolutely killer! And it seems him and Amethio are related after all!
Now I can't wait to see where the plot will go from here on!
I definitely expected a bit more Friede action! But regardless, the Explorers stuff really did make up for it. Spinel, Amethio, Gibeon - seeing those three in this episode was the COOLEST! Genuinely phenomenal stuff! 🔥
I'm so glad that they make the main villain of this series having a Zygarde as his partner. After all, none of the Kalos legendaries ever appeared in the anime since XY&Z, while at least one legendary from other generation did appear in Journeys (looks like Journeys writer have some issues with XY)
They didn't have any trouble using megas as the most interesting part of the seasons journeys lasted though
I feel Amethio is less a villain and more a rival. The main rival for Liko to overcome, and thus far, Friede is the one trying to protect her from him. I think at some point, I expect Amethio to completely overtake Friede that he can no longer protect her, and Liko will have to face Amethio by herself and win by herself.
Plus their main Pokemon's Types counter each other: Liko's possible future Meowscarada being Grass/Dark vs. Amethio's Ceruledge being Fire/Ghost

I won't be suprise to find lucius alive when they reach the paradise cause he definitely found it, tons of it and decided to stay there/hidden so nobody misuses it and in exchange it kept him alive after all this time.
Then again a simple theory from all the facts I know. (Anime theme literally showed liko meet lucius and he didn't seem imagination)
Interesting theory. Maybe the Lakurium (if that's what the dub calls it) has the power to grant immortality and that's how Lucius is still alive after all this time
Gibeon might easily turn out to be my most favorite pokemon character depending on how horizons handles him. Antagonists having the most powerful legendary of certain regions makes the story so much more interesting than just challenging the league and that's it. My hope is for Gibeon to be stronger than everyone in a similar manner to how the Ai professors were stronger than the champions in sv.

Since Gibeon is super old I think those crystals kept him alive but now he is probably running out of those crystals and needs new ones. Maybe Lucius is still alive because of those crystals, just like Gibeon

It's kinda cool, that we have multiple episodes in this arc, where franchise mascot isn't even presented at all.
Also it's cool, that they didn't forgot about main plot of HZ with this Gen 9 stuff and Terastal Course. And the fact, that Gibeon is Amethio's grandpa at least explains Amethio's personal motivation to capture Rayquaza.
For me the only major downside of this arc so far is the fact, that Explorers (mainly Onyx and Sango) are kinda sidelined so far, considering they are supposed to be some sort of rivals.
I guess but don't forget Rayquaza isn't the explorers' main target. The Rakurium is
I'm really glad that the main plot of Horizons is continuing to push onwards in the background, even while Liko, Roy and Dot take a slight detour. A lot of folks were scared that the show was completely shifting direction, but this is clear proof that that isn't the case at all! 😁 and hopefully we see Onyx and Sango more in the second half of this arc!
They never forget about the main plot, terastal training is just training arc for liko, roy and dot for upcoming main plot who became more challenging, basically its like 2 years time skip of one piece

@@eljordinio7647 because they made duo protagonist with different goal and different paths, while HZ trio despite had different goal, they walking on the same path, back in old ash season (take DP for example) dawn path contestant goal is condienced same with ash path when he want to challenge gym leader, and what better is they make it in seperate episode (for example 1 episode focus on ash while other focus om dawn) and the thing that JN failed to do is making seperated episode focusing on different character while stay at the same place, that why we see so many off screen moment in JN

Finally we’ve gotten answers, and I couldn’t be more excited!
However, in the episode preview, I noticed that the hallways seemed awfully similar to those of the Explorers’ base…and so I originally thought Friede was raiding the Explorers…The Pokemon Company used Fake Out…and it was super effective. 😅
Also, it seems like Ann only appears when another member of the Explorers is in the episode as well…

Getting a serious sense of Deja-vu. I originally wrote a story a few years ago after watching the Pokemon Anime XYZ about an Ex-Team Flare Admin (also named after a purple crystal) who leaves after the Crisis and devotes her time to stopping other evil organizations from achieving their goals…
..keep in mind, this was written almost 3 years ago at this point.

Finally! Gibeon full face and body plus he was Amethio grandfather!!!
Ever since episode 45, I felt that Gibeon's goal would be return to Laqua only so he could gain eternal youth. However, Amethio being his grandson came as a surprise.
But the question remains: does Gibeon have a specific reason why he wants to be immortal? We probably won't find out until the Rising Volt Tacklers and Explorers actually reach Laqua.
My theory is that Gibeon used to be Lucius's partner long, long ago, but then bad blood happened between them. Lucius found Rakua but Gibeon was barred from joining him. Gibeon wants to settle his beef with Lucius by finding him in Rakua, and needs to stay alive as long as possible to achieve so - hence the life extension.

What exactly is Laqua? A sacred island paradise of Pokemon?
Look like Gideon is the overarching main antagonist of the Pokémon Horizons Series, and grandfather of Amethio and Leader of the Explorer. Here some possible theory going to happened, Is Amethio going to redeemed himself, also what happened to his parents?
I don’t think amethio is the only grandkid he is just the favorite one honestly I think amethio, Anne, chalce, spinel, coral and sidian are all his grandkids and they are all siblings. Like gibeon has the same pupils as amethio and 1 part of his 3 part hair is the bluish-silver, then another part is white like sidian, then he has pink eyes like spinel, pink hair like carol then you have his lovers DNA we don’t know about and their kid and their lovers DNA that could totally make all 6 of them siblings.
It feels like they are possibly setting up Liko and Amethio to be foils to one another, which was something others have discussed ever since people speculated that Amethio may be directly related to Gibeon (which is now confirmed) just like Liko being related to Lucius.
And with Amethio still planning to catch Terapagos: I wonder if the two might fight each other eventually before eventually heading towards a path that their predecessors didn't. Not to mention their main Pokemon's Types counter one another: Liko's possible Meowscarada being Grass/Dark vs Amethio's Ceruledge being Fire/Ghost.

I don't know this for sure, but this episode seems to be pointing to Ann deciding to join the Rising Volt Tacklers after the Paldea arc which makes since because they introduced her in the very first episode and bothered bringing her back into the main story to learn all about what Liko has been doing on her journey.
What if Liko, Lucca, Diana, Amethio, Gibeon, Anne (if it turns out to be true that she's Amethio's sister and Gibeon's granddaughter) and Lucius are connected by blood, also meaning that they have one descendant, King AZ, who ruled Kalos 300 years ago and who also was responsible of activating the Ultimate Weapon, and it would make sense, because we're going to get Legends Z-A next year, and i'm just speculating for now, this is all speculation for now, but what if Liko, Amethio and Anne (if it turns true that Anne is Amethio's sister) are all from Kalos originally, and that The Pokémon Company could easily have episodes centered around King AZ and the upcoming Legends game

I think one narrative problem with Horizons is that the Explorers' goals in the early episodes felt rather inconsistent. "We need the pendant! But wait, also the girl! Actually, the girl doesn't matter right now! Oh wait, yes she does! I will take this green cat but not actually use it as leverage!"
I'm still not quite sure how much Gibeon knew and how much he told his underlings.
I knew that Gibeon would have the same eye design Amethio had the moment we saw him in Ep45! I knew it! (I was already predicting tho that him and Amethio were related, bro's too Zuko- or Hunter-coded to not be.)
I thought Amethio and Gibeon would be related, too! Since Terapagos acted like he recognised Amethio somehow back when they first met! It felt like Terapagos was seeing Amethio's ancestor through him, suggesting they're related! 😁

If Gibeon's ultimate plan is eternal life... I'm kind of not sure how I'd feel. On one hand it makes a lot of sense considering how time is kind of a big thing in Scarlet and Violet, but on the other hand, it feels like kind of a waste to have such a character design be after something so... basic in my eyes.

No, Lucius is obviously Liko's ancestor. Terapagos reacted to Amethio because he probably looks like a younger Gibeon. Lucius and Gibeon clearly knew each other in the past.

Hello, Willis! It was indeed one of the most interesting ones. Gibeon's face finally shown. After some thinking, Gibeon having a Shiny Zygarde makes more sense, since he was one of Lucius' friends, and Lucius' own so-called signature Pokémon was the Shiny Rayquaza.

I have a feeling this eternal blessing is somehow connected to the rakorium that gibeon said he planned to obtain once the RVTs gathered the six heroes and Laqua was found
Maybe this crystal we saw is a fragment of it or it can even sense the rakorium's location
I definitely think Eternal Blessing is either a small fragment of Rakurium, or it can be used to find the real Rakurium. Maybe it could be both! Regardless, very exciting times ahead! 🔥

I now again think that Anne is with the explorers because it seemed kind of pointless to show Liko telling her about Terapagos and even show it on screen. I guess they could always make use of it in a different but it’s still interesting
I'm willing to bet real, honest to god no cap money that she's not even affiliated with (let alone being a part of) the explorers. A deliberate red herring by the writers at most.
I highly doubt she is apart of the explorers but I do think she is a grandkid of gibeon because he has a lot of similar stuff with the explorers teens. The same pupil shapes and 1 part of his 3 part hair is the bluish-silver like amethio, 1 part of his hair is white like sidian, 1 part of his hair is pink like carol and his eyes are pinkish-purple so very close to Anne eyes and spinel eyes then since he is a grandpa we need to know what the grandma looks like and how many kids they had together then there is the 2 parents DNA as well. The easiest thing to do is have 1 kid for gibeon and his wife/lover then the 2 parents have 6 kids amethio, Anne, spinel, sidian, carol, chalce would all be siblings.

A lot of people have theorised that, so it could be possible!
I have a crazy but very simple theory: I think the Amethio is a descendent of Gibeon AND Lucious. From this episode we see that master Gibeon has pink eyes, we also know that Lucious has blue eyes. What color we get when we mix those two? Purple, like Amethio's purple eyes. If it's true, then Ametio might also be a relative of Liko (if she is related to Lucious too).
Theory 1: It will be a plot twist if Gibeon is AZ's long lost brother/Amethio's great uncle, afterall in the game X and Y, he had a line of "Where is it now? What do I have to do to meet it?" Probably not just referring to Eternal Floette, but something else.
Theory 2: The purple crystal thing propably has something to do with the so called 4th member of the Life, Death, and Control trio people theorizing about, after all Gibeon does have a shiny Zygarde perhaps it'll have its counterpart representing chaos, Legend Z-A is coming most likely next year afterall.
Theory 3 or just a expected result in my opinion: Spinel being the most sussy members of the explorers could be the last moment big villain where he'll somehow use his own people and Liko's side to fight each other until both side are weaken, afterall he was the one to steal the purple crystal and just handed it to his boss Gibeon like he wanted it to plan forward, plus he seem to be the only member to go on a mission all alone with his own Pokemon unlike the other Explorer member.
I really need to start watching this lol, especially since there's a joltik, i think the english dub is on UA-cam.
Side note: why is there so many hot men in this show?! 😳, fride, Lucius and now spinel (it's the first time I've seen him) like dang character designers for the pokemon franchise don't mess about lol.

Well taking a look at him and how many colors they gave him that match the other explorers I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility he is all of the explorers and Anne grandpa. Then you have the DNA we don’t see being his lover and there kid and to keep it simple right now saying they only have 1 kid and their lover which adds more unseen DNA to the mix so all 6 of them could be siblings. Liko and Roy are trying to reunite and catch the Six Hero Pokemon so they can open up the path to the Rakua Paradise, where Lucius was last seen! 😁
The RVTs already have half of the six heroes on their side in Arboliva, Moltres and Lapras. Only the other three are left
