I never realised how far Alexandria was from the prison
Its funny because in real life they are literally right next to each other
Neither did I. It's been several seasons since they left the prison so I couldn't remember if they walked the whole time then I remembered they did drive some. Wonder if the walkers are on the islands like Hawaii the Bahamas?
@@righteousfroce1254
They’re global, so, almost certainly.
@@righteousfroce1254 the smartest thing is actually going on an island, you'll wipe out any threat and none will come your way, except for humans
@@unitempt7975 the flaw is the inability to gather resources once they have run out.
So lets get this straight, Morgan starts in Georgia, manages to find Rick in Alexandria, Maryland 700 miles away, then wanders off all the way back down south to Oklahoma/Texas where he bumps into Dwight 1400 miles away.... Seems legit
I mean there is only 500,000 people left in the U.S.,and that's before all the deaths so who knows how little humans are left
yeah, very good point :)) but considering that Daryl told Dwight that he`s gonna kill him if he sees him again, we can figure that he didn`t want to risk! :))
Don't underestimate the power of running, then walking, then running, then driving, then walking.
NOTHING is beyond Morgan's capabilities!!!
Alexandria, is next to DC in Virginia. Morgan also had the map to DC, and they are along the same highway. I used to live in Virginia and moved back to Oklahoma, that is only a day's drive with minimal stopping and no rest.
Twd at the beginning: gasoline is valuable and hard to come by, make it last
Twd two seasons later: uses a car to go across the street*

Why did i always felt like everything was always, Georgia, Georgia, Georgia, Georgia...
Because it was. The Northern Virginia in real life is far more built up than is depicted in the show.
@@ronnieguimond8357 That and the entire show is filmed in Georgia
@@ronnieguimond8357 yeah, it is largely suburban though.
Yeah, even though Alexandria was basically introduced as "We're here in DC" it's easy to forget that it's there, lol
@@Freelancer837 They never made it to DC. The Kingdom is supposedly based on the other of the river of Georgetown, Washington.
They should film in every single state, telling stories about the people of each state, and allowing the public to play zombies. Would be an awesome project.
That would cost so much money and be so hard to do. Plus we would have to wait like a month for every episode

I’d say Alexandria would be a little closer to Oceanside and for everything from twd to be moved more south of Virginia, the difference between hilltop and Alexandria shows less than an hours drive , overall it’s good tho but I’d spread more to southern virginia
I agree
I thought Grady was in Atlanta. The distance between the prison and woodbury seems a bit much too
@@Darktrik001 I agree, they definitely went way up north after the prison but it makes sense with the story, they stopped through the Atlanta hospital and then went around 100miles north for noah afterwards so that makes sense. Also I think the bomb from Fear the walking dead might be the reason for the group michonne runs into, a Nike would attract all the walkers for a thousand miles to it because of the sound
Heck yeah, I love it when someone does something like this.
It puts things into place and helps it make more sense.
yep! a few places are off but still really cool!
Alexandria is I think “supposed” to be up north but it’s actually in Georgia if you ever wanted to visit. If you go on Apple Maps type in Nic and Normans (Norman reedus’s restaurant) it’s really close and is right where they filmed the governors town too. I highly recommend if you live in the south.
I saw that on google maps. The surrounding area is so rural. Very unlike the real Alexandria, which is either full blown city or suburbs, and DC on the other side of the river.
Yo who agrees with me that we need to see what our pals across the pond in Europe are doing
yep
They got castles so...
@@Ray-yv7kn It would be sweet to see a walking dead series set in Europe with a group taking over a castle or something. Problem is, the high population density in many parts of Europe means a ton of walkers.
@@ianhampton3568 Yup, plus guns and ammo are not as readily available as in the USA so I don't like their chances. Our European pals are most likely history. Maybe there are survivors on the Islands. Grady memorial hospital is in atlanta, shown by carol and daryl following the car down the same highway rick was on back in the pilot
Everything near Atlanta should be way closer together
This really makes me wonder as to why they went back and forth so much in the first five seasons.
None of the starting characters really had a reason to stay in that area after the first season so you would expect them to pick a direction and move in said direction instead of going back and forth a bunch of times.
Just finished Telltale's TWD 2 weeks ago and too see the location of the school, the train and macon, clem really went far and survived for a long time and the school where clem was last seen was pretty close to AMC's TWD area too.
This version is off in places but the creator is updating it now and I will have a new video out soon!
yeah like aint no way the season 2 group got tracked down by carver after they fled to another state
imagine the saviors are still around and attacked ericsons school. could've made a war type thing working together with the delta for their and the schools benefit
12 seasons we are at 10. 2022 is its last year. A decade for a show is just wow.
24,smallville,supernatural too.
11 is the last season
Glad this video exists cause the map always confused me with where the communities are in relation to each other. When Carol left Alexandria, Morgan said she went east (due to the satellite outpost being west of Alexandria). That means the kingdom should be east of Alexandria but I’m pretty sure the show contradicts that at some point later.
Finally a good Map of TWD!
I love when it when people are posting walking dead game related vids makes me miss lee and clem more
This is pretty cool, but I already notice some issues. The map of Terminus that was along the rail lines placed it somewhere in middle Georgia near Macon, which would also put Gabriel's church down that way. The filming location for Terminus was just outside of downtown Atlanta so that may play a part in this location.
That, and Grady Memorial Hospital is in the dead middle of Atlanta, not halfway to the mountains of north Georgia.
At the time I made the video - this was a work in progress. Follow the reddit link in the description to see if it's been updated. Thanks for the info!
Yeah, TWD stretches from Atlanta to Washington D.C. and yet when they are not in town every road looks like the same straight, two-lane stretch through a pine forest.
IDK about Atlanta, but I live in practically the same area in Virginia, and it's very much a lot of woods and two-lane roads everywhere even when going to Richmond. So that part is actually quite accurate, and when they were in Atlanta it was a lot more open and less crowded with trees. from what I could tell.
The whole show was filmed in Georgia
I like that the locations from the walking dead games were included I had no idea the hunting location with Daryl and his dad was up in NC
Cool map! thanks for bringing it to our attention :)
Thanks for checking it out!
Eugene when he was taken "prisoner" by Negan and the Sanctuary upon arrival he's offered food, "anything you want", and he requests lobster. people always talk about how absurd of a choice he made like they were in Kansas but at the time I knew they were roughly in the northeast near the ocean. that bothered me. all they need is gasoline for generators or ice trucks
mmmmm lobster
Good stuff thanks James. Sorry for being away for a while. Time mto catch up on your channel now that the show is back!
Welcome back!
The Wellington safezone was in Michigan. I remember Kenny yelling at Luke about it in season 2. “YOU DEAF OR SOMETHING? YEAH MICHIGAN!”
I thought it was. But I think he said it was NEAR Michigan. Nobody really knew where it was exactly, just that it was up north. But if it was in Michigan then clementine would’ve had a hell of a walk to Virginia.
At one point they were in South Carolina(in the show), very briefly though, there was a road sign when they were looking for the one characters family that was in the hospital with Beth in Atlanta. Afterwards they ended up Continuing north towards Washington DC/Alexandria.
Grady Memorial Hospital is downtown Atlanta and the CDC is just to the north but still in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
About telltale locations,
I don't think the carver's base is THAT far from Parker's run because Clementine's group literally came WALKING in one day max.

So in TT TWD season 2 carver went so far out of his base just to get Pete's group? Gotta respect this man's effort.
That's awesome someone took the time to make that map
I’m from VA and I’m pretty sure they’ve got the location of Alexandria wrong. They have it just outside of VA, in Maryland. While the suburb is made up the location is real. Also, I’m skeptical that Oceanside is that far south. Should be further up inside the Chesapeake bay for practicality’s sake. It would take days to get there by horse and cart. Getting from Alexandria to there takes at least 3 hours by car.
FYI: Tomorrow on Sunday Morning on CBS Steven Yeun aka Glenn is going to be on.
IVE SAID IT BEFORE AND ILL SAY IT AGAIN TWD SHOULD HAVE A DAMN WHAT IF SHOW
I will note that in the comics, they started out in Cynthiana Kentucky.
@Ryan Romano walkingdead.fandom.com/wiki/Cynthiana,_Kentucky
I’m like, 99% sure Parker’s run is in southern Ohio, so Carver’s base probably is around that area too
There’s also 2-3 transitory episodes of FTWD after coming back up North out of Mexico they state they are a few miles south of “Tyler” which is a little ways north of Corpus Christi on the Gulf coast.
They need a northwestern story. The Pacific Northwest is a perfect location for a zombie apocalypse story aside from the cities
You can actually go to these places, you'll find Rick and the crew there. Just be careful for the zombies lol
Awesome, very interesting to see this
I remember when a town like 25-30 miles away(La Grange, Tx I think)from my town, was having a filming there and those 3 dots look like around there. Best believe I drove out there
Oh my goodness I have been looking for this information for YEARS. ❤
i really hope people from the walking dead game will meet the walking dead characters
Logical and good map. Many have claimed (earlier) that Hilltop\Kingdom could be hundreds of miles away from Alexandria, but I never thought this way. In post-apocalyptic world it wasn't - sit in a car and drive fast... roads were in bad condition, cars also... it still is significant distance between those settlements. Also Aron could have easily missed Hilltop, because - just zooming in, it is obvious that even passing "close" to Hilltop, it could still be some 10 miles away from fence of settlement, and in post-apocaliptic world no way he could have known about it.
I have some other thoughts though, not about map - Commonwealth and Civic Republic are not far away form each other. Did CRM know about CW? Flying across the much of USA, they should have noticed a large community in Ohio.
I a colorblindish person. Struggled with this video lmao
I still dont understand why they never even try to leave Georgia, or go to the shore or something, around S4-S5, it can't be that bad everywhere, they should try to find new terrain. Someone please explain why they never leave. there could be doctors or some type of government still left on the whole planet.
easiest way to explain is - that's just the way the author wrote it
Having lived in Northern VA for 17 years now, I always thought that Alexandria in TWD was in an area that was no where near as built up as the real Alexandria. Hilltop's location is more plausible.
yea, in real life its way more urban, just passed by there a few days ago going to back to philly
Bro amazing effort.
The location of Alexandria on the map is a little off. The map appears to put it on the Maryland side of the Potomac River when it should actually be on the other side in Virginia.
Clementine's group really isn't far from Alexandria and Commonwealth. That's pretty cool if Robert ever did want to try something. (Obviously we know something is happening with Clementine later this year).
Wait a second...you are going "back and forth" with people...explains so much
The only thing I know for sure is this isn't a democracy anymore is season 2 episode 13 which is the finale and it pans out at the end that they are right next to the prison so definitely that map is wrong.
Someone would've learned how to fly planes...then fly over to some Island. Surprised no one tried
Omg I love your voice! Almost like Timothy Olyphant's voice!
In the TT games in the walking dead 2 when there in the cabin you see a sign saying there in Colorado
There a version like thhis but its google maps. Made by the show
I looked for this a year ago and I couldn't find it finally someone who made a map
Grady Memorial Hospital should be right next to Atlanta since it is in Atlanta. I also think Terminus is north of Gabriel's church. I used to live in Atlanta for 14 years. A little FYI Atlanta use to be know as Terminus.
Yes it did. - Thanks for the suggestions!
I only looked for survival instinct lol I have so much nostalgia for that game
Little did y’all know Daryl had buffet ideas🤣🤣
I appreciate the Saints and Sinners locations in there as well
Wasn´t the Grady Memorial Hospital also literally in the middle of Atlanta!? On the map it is north of Gabriels church, which wouldn´t make sense in my opinion, as this is obviously more on the country side. Not sure about the rest, tho :D
it's so weird to see my mostly unknown southern small town be in the walking dead games lol
Grady hospital is in the heart of downtown Atlanta
Thanks
I also remember when the Commonwealth Soldiers was driving vehicles drawing away the Walkers we see one in the back of the Jeep and also we saw when the Guards at the Commonwealth Tower they climbed the Walls one of the Troopers sure got impact big time I can't remember everyone names that's with Mercer but the moment we see the Guard hit the switch opens the Gate to the Commonwealth I was like uh oh that's not good
that was not good at all
In the TellTale Games they head to Michigan, trying to get to Wellington, there is a Wellington county in michigan, I live in Michigan, so I think there should be a spot on the map somewhere in Michigan, I know there is one, not too sure where lol
tho for some reason wellington is in ohio
In grand finale I suppose 3 endings
1. They found the cure and the humans will be become the dominant species in the planet once again
2. They are fleeing to Europe and somehow the are safe now
3. They have been eaten by zombies
Those are my suggestions

Eugene and them met up with the Commonwealth in Charleston, WV so yeah that's off. It's more mid-southern WV. I know because I'm from WV.
Edit: Also, the woman that plays the one Eugene is talking to on the radio/meeting up with...liked one of my videos on IG before I even knew she was on the show. Just thought it was cool.
On the show they did meet in WV....but that is not where the community is. In the comic CW are in Ohio, and may also be in the show.
@@TWDExplained I didn't say it was where they were. I said that's where they met up. The map is still wrong.
Edit: Also, Charleston, WV is like less than 100 miles from the Ohio state line. So it all adds up.
Juanita Sanchez was located in Pittsburgh in the comic. In the tv show's wiki entry for her, the city they first meet her in is said to be an "unspecified Mid-Atlantic" region city, an area that includes Pittsburgh. Next time I watch season 10, I'll have to pay more attention to the length of time it takes Eugene and co. to traverse the distance to her location; it would probably take several weeks even with horses to make that trip.
I heard what you said about the Commonwealth in West Virginia. Again, I'll have to pay attention next time I watch it. Pennsylvania is a commonwealth, and West Virginia is a state.
They met CW at the train station in WV on the show. We do not know yet exactly where the community is located.
@@TWDExplained There's an annoying shard of WV that interposes itself between PA and OH, meaning it is possible to continue westward from Pittsburgh and still reach a WV destination (but I doubt that's what the showrunners have in mind).
The city in the tv show is substantial. I'm not sure what city in WV is that big. On the other hand, if the Commonwealth was named for its location within a commonwealth {PA) rather than a state, I'm not sure there's anything west of Pittsburgh, yet still within Pennsylvania, that's large enough to be the Commonwealth shown in the comic.
The Commonwealth is a network of several connected towns.
They should turn it into a poster like the terminus poster
Or the map that Ricks group use.

Thank you for sharing sir.
You bet!
you have Alexandria on the wrong side of the Potomac River. It should be in Virginia not Maryland. one thing that always bothered me is all the wooded area depicted around Alexandria. Alexandria is one big urban sprawl. There are NO wooded areas in Alexandria, with the exception of some small parks.
I am not saying I know where it is exactly, but people have said Alexandria the subdivision/area is not the same as the city. ??
I had to say the bigger the Walking Dead Universe gets the more interested in the map I become. I would really like to know about what's going on across the Atlantic or the Pacific Oceans?
Considering that many nations across the atlantic, i mean europe, have anti gun laws i can imagine that most of them are either dead or in Bunkers (we got alot of bunkers in germany). I think companies like heckler&koch would start an own "state" or camp or whatever just bcs they have the Location and weapons. I also can imagine Swiss being either pretty safe or pretty dead(they would probably destroy all bridges and mobilize their civilians that can be mobilized which would be 50% of them) or they destroyed all bridges and the walkers ate them from inside out. Maybe many people of france, Germany etc would flee into the Scandinavian states but i don't know. But also in europe are castles everywhere and this would be a perfect place in a zombie apocalyps. So i think for Europe most people would fortifie themselves, form stronger communes then in America, focus on. Asia is very very urban with china and india alone so it think they all are dead. Australia is an island with more Islands surrounding it so i think they could still live there too. And i don't know much about africa so idk
Btw sry for the long and probably grammatical incorrect text but i like ur Question and wanted to share my thoughts
@@emilioo.7972 no apologie necessary. You do make a good point with the restrictions on firearms in Europe also the bunkers. They could make a really good story about not letting people in the bunkers meaning certain people. I mean back here in the states race Financial classes and where you're actually from wood play Big Parts in Bunker selection just here at home. I haven't spent enough time in Europe to know if that kind of stuff is an issue like it is here in the US.
@@frost2104ify i also think a great difference would be how strong the communes are. 1. Bcs of the firearms in Europe many people would need to Work together or for someone to get weapons and 2. The size of the countries: im from south germany but still would have no Problem with a guy from north germany but a guy from Texas and 1 from north Carolina would have many problems (i think) bcs of the cultural differences and just the society in both states.
