- Today We're gonna look at why this oil light keeps blinking at a stop sign in your 3.7 or 4.7 Jeeps. MANY people think that your oil light is blinking because of a broken oil pump. When more than likely that is not the case. You may be able to see it give off a code like PS404. Many things can cause your oil light to blink at a stop light. Low oil pressure, dirty oil filter, faulty oil pressure gauge, oil leaks, or maybe it's time for an oil change. But today we're gonna look at replacing your oil pressure sensor. Replacing your oil sensor is pretty easy and there's not much to take apart. Start by taking a look around your oil filter and follow the rest of my steps in the video and you'll have your oil pressure sensor fixed in no time. Stay tuned though because I've got a SWEET trick to show you for when you're going to fill your oil back up without a funnel.

First time seeing your videos. Hope you're still making content because you definitely have a subscriber in me. Please continue to bring amazing my brother, your energy and personality is everything
Oh yeah, these are the types of videos I make. I am still making videos, however, my sons been in the ICU for two months and that’s all I’ve been making content about , however, I do have 960 videos of automobile Content and if, and when we get past this, I will be going back to making automobile con tent. I still make it. I just don’t put it up right now because I’m not working as much.
But extremely happy to have you. Glad you enjoyed it and very much appreciate you being here.
Most entertaining mechanic video I’ve seen. Fun to watch and doesn’t make this seem as dreadful as others make it seem. Not saying it isn’t dreadful, but I’m walking away with a much more positive attitude!
the energy in this video is addictive
Engines not used for a while can develop rust inside when oil goes to the bottom and parts get exposed. Rust inside gets loose and can blink the light by blocking oil passages. I had a Mustang 4.6 like that. PITA to flush that rust out. Took me thousands of miles and about 4 engine flushes to stop hearing valves ticking due rust blocking the oil passages temporary.
Very informative! Thank you!
Don’t be the next of them, be the absolute first of you. If anyone else can do it I promise you can too
Statements I live by!!! They’ve motivated me many many many times to continue to do things
@@sharpcarco very motivating ! Thank you
Words to live by. The Good Old American Way.
On my Jeep, it was a loose connection to the oil pressure sensor. Turned it a bit to tighten, and problem solved. if no connection,= the light turns on.
Yeah I just assumed that you’re sensor would be plugged in. This video is more about somebody who didn’t have an oil light at one point and just all the sudden dead at some point I would have to assume your sensor was replaced
@@sharpcarco No need to replace it. When i noticed the connector was loose, I just turned it clockwise so it was not. A month ago, and the light is working fine.
I check all lights were working before start engine. It is working fine.
The point I was making was they don’t just come loose….. But OK
@@sharpcarco I just found out it was not the connector, IT WAS THE WHOLE SENSOR WAS LOOSE.
@@sharpcarco i was loosing oil too from the sensor been loose. Jeep Liberty. Idiot previous owner. 4 months ago, i noticed a noise. It was a lower ball joint he didnt tighten well.
My Mazda Protege and Geo Prizm did that and I put oil in it. 300k mi
Is there anyway to stop the oil alarm beeping ?
No worries, it’ll stop pretty soon. I’m sorry to say.
What if the oil come on then goes off and come on a turn or something then back off is it dangerous low or you got time to make it to the oil place Or is blinking on n off the most dangerous?
That what mines was doing 3 days latter it blew up , luckily it caught fire at same time….. and I had comp because the shit bag that rebuilt the engine definitely wouldn’t have covered his work…. Accurate Engines crap hole !!
ok i have a question i have 3.7 v6 commander i had the oil changed on the 10th and when the attendant finished adding the oil in the truck it didn't show a reading of oil? I saw him add the required amount of oil in the truck why?
I have the same engine and vehicle. My oil is full even replaced the oil pressure sensor and the light flash on once goes off? Any ideas?
My jeep liberty had those same traction control/abs/serv 4wd lights on. Do you have a video for that?
I do it shows a picture of an older jeep liberty if I remember correct on the thumbnail and it’s under my Jeep playlist it’s a really really good video because in the description I also give you a link to the repair online manual that will show you exactly how to fix it!!! so even if the repair that I do in the video is not identical to the one necessary for your Jeep you’ll be able to fix your jeep from the repair manual in the description so I would highly check that out
Fun fact for everyone when ever you put fluid in you car poor the fluid in with the bottle on its side
So I have a Chrysler 2010 300 with the 2.7 L V6 engine. My oil light keeps lighting up on the dashboard. Originally it was only with braking or at stoplights, now it just does it whenever it feels like it I guess. I’ve already replaced the oil pressure sensor and I verify that there’s sufficient oil in the cart. The oil change is fairly new. And the car runs just fine, I have no issues. Should I suspect that I need to replace the oil pump or could it be something else?
Awesome 👏
I just got an oil change and it keeps coming on and off.
love the shell necklace from 1986, had one myself! I have a 2006 dodge dakota auto 3.7 that has had the engine replaced with another k code engine out of who knows what...junkyard engine... Anyways things seemed ok for about a month, but afterwards started flickering oil light and bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing ect non stop no matter idle, acceleration, or anything...Replaced the sensor 3 times and wire connector 2wice still bing bing bing bing bing bing bing bing...all the time.. Has good oil pressure, thinking of putting in a mechanical oil pressure gauge in where the sensor goes, but not sure if it will stop the bing bing bing...driving me crazy
Hey Mark yeah I dig that necklace but I’m old as hell……
Anyways well it’s going to be an interesting video coming up pretty soon because that Jeep actually caught on fire when it threw a rod…. I’ve got video of it burning… and I was just waiting for the insurance to pay me for it they did that today so I’m gonna start working on the direction of where I start with this video of this jeep catching itself on fire…. I’m still pissed though because the insurance company didn’t pay enough money for me to replace it with the jeep as good as the one I actually had….. keep your eyes peeled. It should be out in a week or so
BLINK BLINB OR BINK BINK. BLINK IS THE LIGHT FLASHING.. BINK IS THE ENGINE LOSING OIL PRESSURE.
@@CFITOMAHAWK but oil pressure is normal after testing 3 times. also 3 sensors replaced, and 2 wire connectors... granted its a K code engine and mine also was k code but have no way of knowing what junkard pulled out of..im hoping i can cut it off and go with a manual oil pressure gauge and it be done with

Hi Clay!, i've been having the same problem with my Liberty KJ 2006, everytime i stop and as soon as it gets to idle the idiot light goes off, but if i depress just a little bit the gas the light turns off, i already changed the oil, change the oil pan gasket and clean the pick up tube (it wasnt that bad), before that, i replaced the sensor but i don't know if it came bad or not, i live in a very hot place and im using 10w40. Thanks in advance.
Well regretfully I still haven’t done the follow up video to this yet but about three weeks after I made this video it ended up blowing a rod and it burned down to the ground so if you have comprehensive insurance on it you’re OK once it catches on fire they’ll just pay it off…….
Sorry but I thought that response was funny Carlos and it’s the truth
Replace oil pressure switch. See videos how.
@@CFITOMAHAWK i already replaced it with an Standard brand and the issue continues idk if the sensor came bad because the engine is really quiet
@@teyte1977 Check the connector to the sensor has the red clip in. That clip tightens the connector. Some forget to put it back.
By the way, im PR and americans say things like "the light goes off at idle, but them when i hit the gas, the light goes off. They use off for both situations which are the contrary. Man it made a confusing situation even more when i came to USA in 1985 and they said that to me when came with a problem to the shop.
@@CFITOMAHAWK hahaha sure, i know right? its sooo confusing, but you get it easily at least in this case because you already know that the "normal" state of the light its off, or not on LOL, and about the red clip, i bought my truck and it didn't have it (broke i guess), someone test the oil pressure with a manual gauge but i'm not 100% sure it did a good job because he used a gauge that you buy that comes with the copper tube instead of a, let say, professional gauge that comes with rubber hose and different plugs
God I hate these! My wife's town and country, and grand caravan both had these sensors go bad! Bought a special socket just for the sensor. Now where is that dam thing?🤔
What size engine is it and what year is it?
@@sharpcarco the town and country was a 98 v6, the unit was in the bottom of the engine. Her caravan was a 2013 3.7 v6. That one was crazy it was under the manifold on the battery side. Dodge wanted 400 bucks to change a 40 dollar part.
@@jimmyford8390 That is less than an hour job. Find a better place.
I just bought a 2002 Jeep Liberty with the 3.7 L engine, and surprise! It has the low idle oil pressure light too!
It sounds like the engine family has a problem, and people are getting no satisfaction from the manufacturer.
But if it is the oil pressure sender switch, does a new switch cure it?
Or does the pressure really go low? No one seems to be installing a pressure gauge to verify the cause.
COOL
It is Biscuisity. How many biscuits the engine is eating at tha moment.
😂😂 if only they ran on biscuits
@@sharpcarco yes they do.
@@sharpcarco Or how many bearings the engine is eating for Biscuisity rate.
DOPE
First problem Is the badge that says Jeep.
