if Mega Man was a 3d game. . . I tried making Mega Man but in 3D. Normally I wait until the end of a project to make a video, but I'm going to try making a series of shorter videos, and posting one final video at the very end. You'll have to let me know if you like this new format.

Mega Man 5's weapon-get screen has sprites of Mega Man spinning in 360 degrees. I would have thought those would be quite helpful for referencing his 3D model in this video.

There's a Mega Man fangame called Mega Man 8 Bit Deathmatch, and it's a really fun experience reimagining what Mega Man would look like in a Doom deathmatch scenario.
Agreed. It's one of my favorite fangames.
I enjoy this new style it has the benefit of allowing the creator to take breaks and not get burnt out. Meanwhile the audience can get more regular videos

Dude this is so rad. Love how much attention to detail you've put into getting it right. No way would I have thought to measure out multiple Mega Man's to get the timing on the bullets right

Remember that megaman is meant to be at a 3/4's angle in his sprite, not just looking one way, so he's not supposed to have such a broad stance normally. Also, the "outlines" are actually part of the drawing, just drawn over to make a border- try to treat them as part of the full shape since they're not meant to be removed, and you could recolour them to match the rest of the body !

I generally prefer the the format where you finish the whole project then make a video, but it's most important to choose what fits your workflow
I've never seen one of these "Megaman but in 3D" projects actually make him into a 3D model. It's usually 2D visuals in a 3D world. This is coming out really amazingly so far
Love the idea of breaking down the videos into segments, we have a chance to keep up with how everything's going and any small addition can still be a worthwhile video.
The MM8BDM models for Megaman and the Robot Masters might give you a more accurate design for them in 3D.

I know this still is a good and cool project and all but, ya coulda used his mega man 5 sprites since he DOES rotate there and you CAN see him at all angles (to which for all of you, yes, front facing mega man did exist all the way back in 1992). Still, since I'm a big fan of Mega Man I'm glad you've done this cody, your 3D projects are always entertaining.
I'm checking these sprites right now and it's really funny because actually he faces every direction except straight forward or straight backward

Very cute project! If you need references for the camera I recommend checking out Megaman Legends!! Also a little detail but in 3D the light blue line in the helmet extrudes outside the base, with the little dot separated in the eyebrows

The idle front foot back frame suggests a forward stance, which I don't think you implemented. But understandably, you were working with a 2D game with an odd side view perspective. It's only until you start this process that you realize the artistic liberties of the original that make it challenging!
Great explanation on the bullet stuff. I also ran into this when I took a classic game and remade it where the screen extents were wider.
This video style is gonna help us give more of what we love and you wont make us wait over a year for it

Also think that making the camera into a rail camera is an ingenious move for transitioning a 2D sidescroller into a 3D platformer, it keeps a good jump of its identity that way imo
This honestly made me appreciate the Sprite work in the original game more since they really made a Sprite for almost every occasion even once I doubt many players even noticed like the extra ones in the running cycle or the ladder climbing.
Btw great modeling and I like the short format

Honestly, out of all the games you could’ve remade, I didn’t expect Mega Man, but it’s a pretty cool surprise.
I really like it. One thing that I'd mention is that Mega Man stands with his feet at a 90° angle rather than 180° in his idle pose
I think changing that would greatly benefit the way it looks.
Also, there are Mega Man 5, that features him rotating, and Powered Up, which has him as a fully featured 3D model, which I guess could also help for referencing

Speed Block Is a game where you are a block (customizable) and you have to avoid obstacles while running away from a blue and black monster called: Barnage.
This game is considered somewhat Gorey and Funny in the same time.
There's a total of 10 Episodes and every episode has 10 levels.
The First Episode is Based in The Forest.
Second Episode is Based in The Desert.
Third Episode Is Based on The Moon
Fourth Episode is Based on Mars (Planet)
Fifth Episode Is Based in a busy Road
Sixth Episode is Based on A Vice City-like planet
Seventh Episode Is Based in Barnage's Base

There is nothing wrong about this format of videos but since you asked our opinion, I honestly prefer waiting for a full finished project. It feels like a big event for me and it's always more fun for me to watch it until the end without skipping and seeing it unfold. Just a personal opinion of course, I can also imagine why others may prefer this new format
