Believe me when i said, i worked in graphic design and never in my life do call to pitch my ideas to my client. But watching your "a day in a life" returning calls and emails, do calls and all NOW it's easier to call them directly rather than emailed or message them. I made a daily habit to at least call 5 clients each day. Thanks for showing me the way and I vividly remember in one of your video you said it's awkward at first doing call but practice makes it less awkward!! Hi again Karin, listening to your video stress the variegated types of design you do and the steep learning curve that goes along with it, have you given thought to creating satellites that would be led by individual managers that have a central focus on commercial buildings, restraints for another and residential on the last. You could visit each group and oversee the final decision making. Use your main office as a showroom for each satellite to garner design elements like swatches etc and they can work from home but visit the main office to update you. Just a thought.
I am always curious to know how much time is spend on actual designing versus doing AutoCAD and 3d. Would it be cost effective to have the CAD and 3D done outside? and which 3D software is the most convenient to use for projects? some 3d softwares are amazing and awesome but too time-consuming. would a basic 3d SketchUp be good enough? or should we do photo realistic ones always? How effective are 3d images in client presentations?
I'm only a Architecture Student but we work mostly with Vectorworks, ArchiCAD & Revit. AutoCAD is often not used 'cause it's way too complicated in comparison with ArchiCAD or Vectorworks (both 2D & 3D Modeling/Planing Software). At University you get teached really soon that in the end the way it looks like is the most important thing. Clients (or in my case Profs) judging your project within the first few seconds if they like it or not, depending on how it looks like. So it matters a lot. It's the first impression your clients gonna get of your work.. so.. it better should be good. Not necessarily photorealistic, though.

Hi again Karin, listening to your video stress the variegated types of design you do and the steep learning curve that goes along with it, have you given thought to creating satellites that would be led by individual managers that have a central focus on commercial buildings, restraints for another and residential on the last. You could visit each group and oversee the final decision making. Use your main office as a showroom for each satellite to garner design elements like swatches etc and they can work from home but visit the main office to update you. Just a thought.

I am always curious to know how much time is spend on actual designing versus doing AutoCAD and 3d. Would it be cost effective to have the CAD and 3D done outside? and which 3D software is the most convenient to use for projects? some 3d softwares are amazing and awesome but too time-consuming. would a basic 3d SketchUp be good enough? or should we do photo realistic ones always? How effective are 3d images in client presentations?
I'm only a Architecture Student but we work mostly with Vectorworks, ArchiCAD & Revit. AutoCAD is often not used 'cause it's way too complicated in comparison with ArchiCAD or Vectorworks (both 2D & 3D Modeling/Planing Software). At University you get teached really soon that in the end the way it looks like is the most important thing. Clients (or in my case Profs) judging your project within the first few seconds if they like it or not, depending on how it looks like. So it matters a lot. It's the first impression your clients gonna get of your work.. so.. it better should be good. Not necessarily photorealistic, though.
