My computer lab teacher gave this nugget to help us type faster and it was AMAZING!!! He is a huge Star Wars nerd and would quote an old Jedi saying "Slow is fast. Fast is slow." To speed up your typing, type 'slow'. It sounds wrong but actually is true when practiced. You'll notice when you type when you make a mistake it knocks down your wpm. If you don't make a mistake by typing slowly it raises your wpm. Eventually, you'll get faster by typing slow because you're organically getting faster because you're improving technique and getting the motions deep into your muscle memory.
@@aniketpatil9129 It's never difficult, never say this to yourself instead say "I'll rever 70 WPM one day and when you reach 70 say I'll reach 75WPM " 20 mins of daily practice will surely get you there, mine average is 72WPM and highest is 82WPM i reach this speed with not so consistent practice but with a mindset to achieve a little more every time I practice.

Great video! I personally started to train to type faster in December 2020, and I went from 60 WPM to 90-100 WPM now! My advice would be to break your bad habits by forcing yourself to use all your fingers and not look at the keyboard. I would also recommend not descending below 96% accuracy, and if this is the case just slow down! And if you come to a point where you are stuck, to let's say 90 WPM, try to type faster (even if you make mistakes) to accustom your fingers to a greater speed! Also, I don't know why, but I type faster when I am listening to something (I've actually beaten my record while listening to this video and done 104 WPM with 97% accuracy). 🚀

I have been practising blind typing for 1~1.5 years, and now I am able reach 60 wpm. Feel very proud, though I still have a very long way to go in order to polish my skill. Keep going guys, it pays off, I remember how at the very beginning I struggled even to learn how to type 4 letters…
I am not able to use all fingers of my left hand while typing meanwhile i am able to use all my fingers from the right hand while typing . Due to this shortcoming the max i am able to reach is 85 WPM. While on an average if i type normally it is 70-75 WPM
the thing is stop using pinky to type q and p and leave it for shift and other keys such as brackets i used pinky and i hafta say pinky is a hindrance especially on qwerty i can see a diff of 5 wpm after mastering the ring finger for p n q
Very good point! Speed is not always necessary. Like in real life scenarios, we type because we are writing something from our own mind, rather than typing what the words in front of us. Thanks for this realization.
last year in school i practiced typing every time i had a break and by the end of the year i had come from 15 words per minute to averaging 47 through 62 words per minute. i know that isnt fast but that still is a big upgrade from when i started and now i never have to look at the keyboard.
I'm at 100wpm with two finger typing, but I'm trying to learn touch typing for university as I feel like it might increase my speed :) I'm starting at 30wpm and I'm actually improving pretty quickly. Also touch typing is so much less exhausting than using only two fingers haha.
some one rightly said focus on Accuracy ... and type letters from correct fingers by sitting in correct position .. and in your mind remmber the spelling of words you want type .. coz most of the time we don't think about word .. we just type them subconsiously .... but here only we do mistakes .. dont see the letters .. see them as word! ..
I had a speed of 40-45 wpm without touch typing. I learnt touch typing & my speed fell to 25-30. Then I reached 45-50 wpm in a week and improved till 75 wpm in another 2 weeks. So it definitely helps , no doubts about it. The problem now though is I'm trying harder and the speed is improving quite slowly. Most often its 2-3 wpm per week.

I'm currently using Red Dragon K 208 , Ajazz AK33, Cooler Master CK552,Logitech G 920 Mechanical keyboards. While the membranes ones are HyperX Alloy Core,Thermaltake Tt eSPORTS Challenger Prime. So I'm focusing on consistency more as of now to be 80+ wpm on all of them. Then I'll get back to increasing the speed in steps.
I also recommend taking breaks when typing. I tried to increase my typing speed too fast without taking breaks and I developed long-term pain in both my wrists
I am stuck at round 55 wpm since last year of november and It really pisses me off. The main thing for me is the tiny mistakes where i type the adjacent letters switched.
I hit 117 as my highest ever but I tend to hover around 105-110 normally. I was a heavy Cherry Blue user but I got this one board with Browns and even though they're unpopular Cherry Browns are my absolute favorite and Im faster on tehm

Hey harshibar! So, I had a typing speed of 30-35 wpm and after a month of practice sessions(which weren't as frequent and long as it ideally should have been) i reached a speed of 70+ wpm. I once hit 80 wpm in 10fastfingers and usually clock around 75 wpm on a good day. But i have a slight bad habit. I don't use my pinky fingers and this is really staggering my speed because everytime i use punctuations i usually type wrong and i have to correct it which takes few crucial seconds. Also because i don't use my pinkies my index and ring fingers do twice the work. Should i restart my journey with 10 finger typing or continue without using my pinky fingers? What do you think I should do? PS: My typing speed reduces to 15 wpm whenever i try ten finger typing :) I know with practice i will be able to go back to my original speed but i worked really hard to get this speed and now to go back to pretty much zero is heart breaking ;_;
You'll not take that much time to reach the same levels of speed and maybe even overcome your best speed if you give it consistent practice for 2-3 months. As you already have good finger movements, your speed will not be an issue , you'll adapt faster once the technique sets in ,your accuracy however, would need work at least in the first few days. Initially, you'll make errors because of your old habit & your mind's conflicting trigger movements. So the first 2 weeks will be horrible for you. After that you'll surely improve and step by step gain some speed every week. All it'll take is some effort from your side. So ..All the Best.
