- This a list of my 5 greatest hip hop albums from the 1980’s. In this video I'll do a countdown showing you the top 5 80's hip hop albums in my vinyl collection. “Sorry about the focus issues, I didn’t realize my camera was on product showcase “.
ALL of PHILADELPHIA says “WHAT? No TUFF CREW”????????? RILLY???????😳👀😳👀😒‼️.
How about some Steady B, Cool C or Three Times Dope!!! I’m hip to a little Philly Rap!💪🏽
Great list ..."Criminal Minded" by Boogie Down Productions needs to get mention
Definitely a 5 mic masterpiece as well 💪🏽
Boogie Down & Slick Rick’s 1st albums have to get honorable mention!! But great list! Each decade could have two list! 🤣🤣 great video!
No doubt bro!!! They are definitely in my top 10. #classichiphop
I'm surprised RunDMC's Raising Hell didn't make your top 5. My top 5 are:
1. P.E. Takes Millions
2. RunDMC: Tougher Than Leather
3. Fat Boys: Crushin
4. Whodini: Back in Black
5. Salt N Pepa: A Salt With a Deadly Pepa
That’s a good list as well. Beats to the rhyme is still my joint!!! 💪🏽
Can not argue with a single pick here. ALL CLASSIC!! Just so I can sleep tonight I have to mention a few others: Audio Two- What More Can I Say, Too $hort- Life Is...Too $hort, UTFO-UTFO, EPMD-Strictly Business....and two that HAVE to be in my top 3 without question.....WHODINI- ESCAPE and THE DOC- NO ONE CAN DO IT BETTER!!!!! Whew! Pardon me, I gotta go spin something now lol.
Man…all of those are classics!!! That was a golden era!
The 80s was the golden classic age of Hip Hop. "Licence to Ill" is the best-selling hip hop album of all time. Wonderful retrospective and analysis of why these albums are awesome. Thank you.
I appreciate you watching! 💪🏽
"low End Theory" not on this list!? Why make a list in the first place. Bro Stop it!🤮
Working on my 90’s list. That one’s a no brainer. Stay tuned
Clarence, you are preaching 💯 facts. I'm out. 🎤 Drop!!
I appreciate it!!! Much love
How do you not have By All Means Necessary on that list?
Man…it was hard to comprise that list. I would place Criminal Minded on the list before By All Means Necessary. Incredible album as well
How dare you leave out The Great Adventures of Slick Rick, oh & Eazy Duz It too...
Trust me…it’s in my top 10!!! The golden era was like no other!!! 💪🏽
@@rarebreed42 Facts My Guy
When I drop my album you might wanna rearrange this list 😂
I need that release date 😁
I was aiming for the top of this month but life happened I’m aiming for early next year I have an instrumental album out and 5 singles if you wanna give some a listen
Bestie Boys but no NWA????
I was definitely on the NWA and Eazy E train!!! But that License to Ill album was 🔥
No
That license to ill was bangin basically from start yo finish.
Educate them about Live Convention 81 and 82 . That album so cold , its probably one of the most cut , referenced , and sampled projects of all time . Its like Marvin Gaye to parents , without him aloot of kids wouldnt be here , same with this album , youll here on a lot of scratches in underground albums to mainstream to
Oh…you went way back!!! True hip hop head
Ultramagnetic Mcs album Critical Beatdown is one of my favorites of all time . The beats are super phat yea i said phat lmao. pretty modern but the way they incorporate 808s is wayyyy colder then how they use it now. i love when it drops every other bar im born in 94 but a old soul , if your a youngn and still havent heard this yet , u missing out
Yes indeed!!! Kool Keith is a legend
I just know Pauls Boutique is on here . That shit changed sampling . Oh Oh Oh 3 feet high and rising tooo .i looooooooove that album
Those are 2 hip hop classics!!! I miss those days…incredible music.
Fantastic video.
Really enjoyed listening to you and the video production is very cool. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Thank you so much!
🎶 Awesome! old school Hip-Hop albums 👍🏼😊👽✌🏼
@@Hi-Fi369 Yes indeed
Love the content yes my top five big daddy kane long live the kane public enemy it a natiion bdp criminal minded jazzy jeff and the fresh prince he's the dj im the rapper ll cool j debut epmd strictly business
Classic hip hop as well…I have them all
Flawless list. 💯
Thank you
I second that. Flawless List. Cant argue with it. This was when Hip-Hop was creative as all those albums were different styles.
Great list and of course there are no wrong answers but you could go a top ten easy . With Run DMC I go with raising hell and for me 6,7,8 would’ve been BDP criminal minded, Great Adventures of Slick Rick and Three feet high and rising.
Those are excellent picks!!! It was the golden era…everything was phenomenal
I no longer listen to hip hop because it’s TRASH but man this brought back some good memories! My only issue is that you didnt put Run-DMC’s self titled debut on the list. That album was groundbreaking and it revitalized what seemed like a dying genre.
Their first album was 🔥and definitely a classic as well…the second album took them to the next level from a pop culture standpoint.
Great list... I'd lean toward Yo! Bum Rush The Show maybe. And honorable mention to BDP - Criminal Minded
Those are amazing as well…best hip hop era!!!
Great video. Cool thing about that era of hip hop was is involvement in the New York hardcore scene. A band name Side by Side use the shadow of LL Cool J from radio as there front cover for their e.p. Also Beastie Boys were originally a New York Hardcore band in the early 80’s
Good stuff!!! That was an incredible era
coulda given Marley and also BDP and Ultra
some flowers still, but hey...all good !!
I was hard putting this list together!!! The golden era of hip hop is unlike any other. 🙌🏽
Great list PE #1 for me but I would have to include Long live the Kane on my list
I love BDK…his word play is still amazing!!!
Respect from the UK homie just discovered your channel
Wow…across the Pond. Thanks so much for watching!!!
Wait!! No BDP??
Man…I should’ve done a top ten list instead lol. Currently working on a 90’s list. Stay tuned
@@rarebreed42 You have to remember BDP By all means necessary… My Philosophy, Self destruction, Still #1, Jimmy… Also let’s not forget Crinimal Minded was great as well… The bridge is over, crinimal blinded, poetry, still #1, dope beat… etc
I remember when that public enemy album dropped it was truly life changing
Yes indeed!!! 💯
Not one single, solitary lie detected. Just as I remember them. Thanks for sharing. Choosing only one from each of those years is harder than Chinese Arithmetic.
That was a good one! 🙌🏾
rakim is top tier mc definitely and it takes a nation was a classic album all through
Yes indeed!!! I miss the golden era of hip hop
I can give you a thumbs-up for your list. These are all good albums.
Thank you!!! Good ole classic hip hop
I totally agree. I can actually remember the days that i got each of those LPs (that's what they meant to me) BUT i'd also have to put BDP's Criminal Minded in there somewhere too.
Criminal Minded is a masterpiece as well…
@@rarebreed42 Yep, definitely
Nice list! Own 4 of 5 of them (and have heard the 5th many times)!
💯
Good list, I remember when all of these albums came out
I miss those days!!!
All great albums hell all classic albums
Yes indeed…the golden era of hip hop was amazing!!!
any one of these can come out TODAY and be better than 90% of what's out now

@@rarebreed42 Welcome I agree classic Rap/Hip-Hop all day everyday. I'll be uploading a video talking about 5 or 10 top classic Rap/Hip-Hop albums
That "Paid In Full" album cover alone is frame worthy! I got the goosebumps listening to that record. Great time in Hip Hop history.💯
Yes indeed!!! Thanks for watching 💪🏽
My copy is signed. Last year I missed out on the opportunity to add Marley Marl's signature to it.
