The Primemutton's Dublin Pub Crawl Part 1
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 жов 2024
- Having not travelled to Ireland for 6 or 7 seven years, the Primemutton found himself in Dublin for the second time within 3 weeks. This time strictly for the black stuff.
Guinness in Ireland is in a league of it's own compared to anything you get abroad, so Mutton was keen to make up lost time
Join Mutton as he makes his way like a kid in a sweet shop through what was supposed to be a 4 pub evening but ended up as a 5 pub evening with a moderately tipsy ending.

Filming this mini series was enjoyable but not easy , 2 pints in every bar 1 for IG and one for here. I will say that anyone who likes Guinness, stout or porter , take a trip to Ireland , its in a league of it's own!
You did awesome!! My good friend studied abroad in Dublin so I’m sharing this vid with him see if he has been to any of these spots. They will be on the docket for our next trip that’s for sure! Cheers
Met your dad on a cruise and he is always promoting his Sons work and I have to say you’re doing a great job. I love Guinness and I do travel to Ireland every year. Keep up the good work.
The only man Guinness fears 🎉❤.
"Good evening Muttonistas" makes my day everytime
Love the vlog, I’m from the US and wish we had as good Guinness as I had in Ireland!
There's an entire industry dedicated to cleaning the lines, cooling the Guinness, and of course, so much is sold that it's always fresh.
As a Dublin resident and a Guinness drinker I was well impressed with this and proud of my home town's towering rep for the black stuff!!!
@@andyoc thank you 🙏 glad you like the content , my next Dublin adventures will be Murphy’s in Guinness and/or independent stouts
@@primemuttonIn town tomorrow, will keep an eye out for Murphys taps and report back.
The Brian Brou in Glasnevin and Mulligans in poolbeg street. Phenomenal pubs and phenomenal Guinness
Agree with Mulligans, Toners as well for definite, never had a pint in the Brian Boru, will remember it
Lol, you did well there, Mutton , sinking nine pints of guiness. .... if i had of sank five the chances are i'd have been flat on my back lookin' at the stars!
Did you catch the female American tourist screaming “9 pints “ in disbelief at the end . I had to stop myself laughing at that point
@@primemutton lol, yeah, I was laughing at that myself.
Fair play Mutton, I enjoyed the vlog.
Great to see you rocking it in my home town Dublin, hunting down the pints like a pro!
Great video. In the bar in my tennis club in Dublin, the pensioners would riot if the Guinness wasn't excellent and cheap (that bit isn't normal, unfortunately). You did a fine job knocking those pints back and take that from a self-confessed Guinness binge drinker.
Yes it’s often the unexpected places that run a simple bar and have a great pint
Love this vlog, keep up the great work my friend! Cheers from the USA
Great vlog mate...jealous of you drinking all that wonderful Guinness. Must pay a visit back to Dublin soon.
You can't beat a bit of mutton and a few pints of Guinness . Cheers
The Guinness police 😂
The Guinness Gardai!
The Guards also like a pint at the back door .
You're the best Mutton. I tyhoroughly enjoy your vlogs, and next time im in Dublin ill have to visit some of these establishments.
The lacquering you refer would be locally called schtick (how it sticks to the glass). If it sticks, it's creamy and usually spot on. Palace Bar is a great pub.
ps liked and subbed 😇
Another brilliant film, Mutton! I’ve been thoroughly enjoying your content since discovering you via Instagram nearly a fortnight ago. Very much looking forward to Part 2, cheers!
I'm reading Roddy Doyle's novel, Love, and I just wanted a Dublin pub crawl. This is great! Instant subscriber here!
Drinking Guinness in the Palace is as near to heaven as possible.UTV
Yes and the decor, pictures /portraits and the old building add so much to the experience along with a great pint
Really love your videos!
been to dublin and the palace bar before, amazing to see it again
grettings from a muttonista in germany
Thanks 🙏 glad you liked it 🍻
Great Vid, might have to make a cheeky trip to Dublin now
Loving your reviews and vids mate, good work 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you 🙏
Really enjoying your vlogs and found them to be extremely entertaining! I thought I knew you from somewhere and realised I was in college with your brother. Can you send Justin my best wishes and tell him that Mark Ellis sends his best wishes. Keep up the Vlogs!! Superb viewing. Best wishes
Hi Mark will tell Justin , hope you’re doing well and glad you enjoy the videos !
Well done god guinness is lovely too nice I've bad hangover over it as I watch your vlog well done ,and stay calm city will work their way back and win the league
You need a load more followers mate - Flavour lads!!!
This is my type of viewing Mutty, Slainte 👍🇮🇪🍻⚽️💙
Can’t believe how much traction you’ve gotten on Instagram since posting whilst over there. Congrats! Wondered whether you’d vlogged your trip. Cheers!
Beer is an important and popular topic !
Luv the black stuff ... best pint i ever had was Clonmel dag track years ago.
Born , bred and living in Dublin and a big Guinness drinker , some good pubs and great lookiing pints , I've drank in most of the pubs you mentioned but in my opinion the best pint I've drank was in Walsh's in Stoneybatter , head and shoulders above the Gravediggers, a lot of people i know who know their pint really don't get the hype with the Gravediggers, i went with some friends relatively recently and wouldn't be in a hurry to go back .
I went to the gravediggers twice , second time was very good though edged out by the cobblestone but the first time was outstanding an unbelievable pint that I can’t temper being beaten by anything
@primemutton I suppose it all depends on the day , it's a fine balance between there being a good flow on the Guinness and it being too busy to maintain standards, happy you enjoyed yourself and the pints, I haven't tried the Cobblestone yet but will be sure to make a trip soon enough, there are so many great Guinness shops outside the city and around the coastal areas of Dublin if you can afford a trip back after 11 pints in the City 😃.
From a local Stoneybatter. Walshe's is a bit gentrified. Most of the other pubs in that area serve great pints.
Great video That’s crazy I’ve just returned from Dublin and the Palace served me the worse tasting pint. I didn’t manage to get to Gravediggers this time but Bowes was outstanding!!! Consistently the best pint I’ve ever had.
Shows you how inconsistent a drink Guinness can be
Bowes is fantastic for a pint.
did you stay at herbert park hotel? love the guinness at mary mac's btw, and I gladly contributed to the positive reviews too
On my recent 2 visits Herbert park and Clayton Ballsbridge
Funny how the more pissed you get, the better the drinks taste 🤣
Love Bowes, a great pub, great staff
Come to Edinburgh! Would be delighted to furnish you with a list of all the best spots. Great vid as usual🎉
I drink Guinness all the time in Manchester and it’s not great, I’m so jealous of all that lovely black gold.
Well the way it’s shipped it cannot be as good
Prime youtube content
Great first part can’t wait for part 2
Probably won’t come out until the Xmas period , as I have 4 footy vlogs to come out between now and then
I am sitting here watching a Brit drink pints 👍🏾😂 nice
where are you watching from?
@@primemutton Oslo, Norway! ✌🏾
When I was in Manchester honestly the beer is like water you can herd them in all day and still walk home
You are a legend
Don’t worry about people telling you not to drink it before it fully settles. I worked for years in the bar trade and would actually recommend that you should take a mouthful just before it settles to help the preserve the head.
Thanks 🙏
Enjoyable, thanks
Was lucky enough to spend some time in Bowes & Kavanagh's late last year & neither disappointed with their pints of Arthur :)
Subscribed! I bet you are a good laugh to have a session with, enjoy :)
I’ve been to Sean’s bar in athlone which also claims oldest bar not only in Ireland 🇮🇪 but believe it or not the world well done to you sir was a good session on the Guinness
Well it could well be , it’s hard to tell without going to a bazillion bars . Not that I’d mind if I found myself in Athlone!
Great video!!!
Glad you liked it!
Great video
On the Guinness . Can ' t beat it .
It really is such a good video
So glad you enjoyed it!
Part 2 has just been uploaded
The Palace staff SHOULD have served you Guinness in a PROPER GUINNESS GLASS-very important and a lot of DUBs wouldnt be happy with that-VERY IMPORTANT to have it in a proper TULIP GLASS ALSO.
Great review..Subbed
Great Video again mutton. What are the nuances with which you differentiate pints?
Correct pouring so the head is the right size , not being thin sour or bitter , Guinness at the end of the day isn’t wildly different to English stouts but the coffee and chocolate notes are very light and subtle making it a great session beer . Most English stouts and porters have very strong coffee notes/finish , which I like but it’s a different drink
Come to America Jason - maybe we can even set you up for a game of bridge.
Looking at coming over for 2025 world club cup if I don't have to go to China. maybe earlier if I'm lucky
Amazing vlog mutton
wow, all that, and yer a blue too. good man, off to Galway this weekend.
You’ll certainly enjoy that!
@primemutton and if you're off to Copenhagen, I can recommend the Shamrock, don't bother with the Dubliner
Excellent. Why the difference in taste at the different pubs?
Guinness can vary from batch to batch , and the other big factors are cleanliness of lines, length of lines and how many people are drinking it. It goes stale really quickly and needs to be constantly moving through the lines
@@primemutton thanks for that! Will take a trip over to Dublin in the spring and try this for myself. Let’s hope City can get the season back on track this afternoon at Luton 🤞🏻👍🏻
McDaids do a really good pint 🙂. Bring you up to 10!
thanks wish I could have covered so many more
Have you ever tried Murphy’s or Beamish?
Yes , I like Beamish , Murphy’s also ok but can be a bit sweet
Football teams of Dublin-Bohemian FC,St Patricks Athletic Athletic,U.C.D.,Shelbourne and another team
In the city itself, most of the pubs serve good pints of Guinness.
Legend
bowes is brilliant
This guy is my hero!!!
Palace is the bees knees.
Drinking pints the first sip must be swished around the taste buds you don’t swallow it half way down you can herd it down the neck
💯% right deink at your pace this split the G crap was a gimmick feom that fool Guinness guru. Whatever happened to him i wonder. Too much of the black stuff maybe 🤔
Well I did meet the Guru and he seemed like nice chap to me. I thought it was a drinking game that started a few years before covid that seems to have taken off to the point that some drinkers appoint themselves as the "Guinness Police" and insist it's the only way to drink it. Of course Guinness are quite happy about this nd launched their own challenge as it leads obviously to faster drinking and heavier consumption. After calling out the keyboard warriors trying to tell everyone how to drink their pints, they've moved onto pointing out (more so on my Instagram page) that most of my pints are being served in dirty glasses, usually mistaking condensation for other things.
As I always say, drink past the head and into the black liquid, that's all you need to do to enjoy a nice pint of stout or porter.
@LukePingu I am begging you, please get Prime Mutton on for a bit of footy tic tac toe
Ignore the Guinness police. Your pint, drink it however the fuck you like.
Thanks , yes in terms of getting through the head on the first sip and drinking some of the liquid rather than the head , that’s important for better flavour. But the people who talk about “splitting the G “ and it being “incorrect” if you don’t , well yes I can do it , and do it to keep them happy on my instagram reels , but it does lead to very fast drinking as you’ve consumed 33-40% of the pint in one go . I’ve seen lads do so at the beginning of the night and they can’t anymore after several pints .
Some don’t have big enough gulllets to do it , maybe instead of a penis measuring contest it’s a gullet measuring contest .
Anyway glad you enjoyed the content!
Yes, absolutely. Once you drink enough to get to the body, you're golden. Also, lived in Dublin for 30 years and never been to the Palace bar. Thanks for the reccie, everyday is a school day !
The lady at the end sounded disgusted that it was your 9th pint 😂 Who was she?
It was I think an American tourist . I’d be prepared to bet that I wasn’t the only punter at the pub who was 9 in.
I don’t doubt that!
Play on primemutton. Godtier content
Brilliant but I must be the only irish man who doesn't like the black..I prefer cider
Well I know Frenchmen who don’t like wine and South Americans not so much into meat , but yes you’re a rare case!
