In many places in Poland there are those racks to collect plastic bottle caps for charity - that’s what you saw near the City Hall. The caps are mostly high quality plastic that can be sold and the funds go to various charities.
Nice trip. Please visit more in Wielkipolska or Lubuskie region. I recommend you Września, Jarocin, Zielona Góra, Wolsztyn, Świebodzin, Zbąszyń. All of them are near Poznań.
Brawo!!! Twój polski jest zajebisty ziomek. Mega pozdrawiamy i zapraszamy znów do Poznania! Samych takich turystów jak Ty i świat byłby lepszy 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
You allow me to see my country through your own eyes, that's unique. What strikes me is how real the people are - I mean, the opposite of "fake". You see they're not smiling at you right away, like the young lady who took your order - and I think that's partially because they think you're Polish. Your pronunciation is really on point, when you say "dzień dobry" like that people assume you're Polish! In small towns like Kórnik, the locals usually treat foreigners differently (I mean, with a smile etc) but I think they don't recognize you as a foreigner at first. You can have full, no filter experience of what it's like to live in Poland. We may not seem to be very friendly at first, but we open up pretty quickly and then everything changes. And please rememeber, even though they're not smiling, it doesn't mean they don't like you, or something. It's just the way it is.
I am really happy to read a comment like this. I appreciate the kind words. Regarding polish people not smiling. Smiling to strangers is not normal in Norway either.
You should have asked us before. There is very easy connection between Kórnik and Poznań, but you know it probably now, because direct buses go from Rondo Rataje quiete frequent. I am always ready for advice. Greetings from Poznań once again.
Oh man, I live nearby (I was taking the same train route when going to school to Poznań) and I still don't know why is this train station called Kórnik and not Szczodrzykowo, which is the village next to it. There are so many people who want to get to the city of Kórnik and they are confused by how far the train station is. And the metal heart with bottle caps in it are for charity purposes. Many people in Poland collect plastic caps at their houses and bring them to such places. It is then used for recycling and the money is given to charity organisations
Thanks for watching ❤️ yes, this was a very confusing moment for me lol. I'm very glad I met that family who helped me get to Kórnik rynek. Aha, I see. Now I understand. I saw those bottle caps many other places. It's a nice concept.
It’s great that you’re trying to speak polish! It is impossible to learn without making mistakes - I’ve had the same problem with the French language. Du er veldig bra, I hope you’ll progress even more. You can be proud of what you’ve learned already.
I live near Kórnik since few years. Your video is very cool, I watched it with pleasure. You inspired me to visit the inside of the castle, which I haven't been to yet. You should also see the palace in nearby Rogalin and the local gallery of Polish paintings - a place worth recommending. I appreciate your work and wish you many great experiences.
2:32 yep, cocks on the walls, especially at the bus stops, are some kind of trademark in Poland! It’s been like that for decades! I am surprised the bus schedule was not burned!
Hi its Kórnik citizen here. Im on that station almost every day. Im going there by car, then train to Poznań and then by bike to my work. This station is located like this becouse of Kórnik castle owner Działyński, he planned this like that to create quick connection to Środa Wielkopolska, but as you see is far away from Kórnik indeed. Ones I helped some couple from Japan, they also took train to Kórnik to see a castle and they were very surprised to see that they are in the middle of nowhere😅 I took them to town.
@@RoamingwithStuand thanks to your video I learned something new about my country! I will for sure remember there is no direct train to Kornik! Iy is indeed confusing!!

She was a communist though. So not a hero to many Poles who refused to co-operate and believe in that system. Good video. Glad that Norwegians, used to high standards, appreciate Poland this much. :)
@@ElfinHat96 Everyone was communist - and says don't generalize. Not everyone was communist. For example my parents and grandparents refused to join the PZPR. It would have made my father a director at his work, instead he was a division director. That was the highest step he could go before joining the PZPR. Some relatives of mine wanted to emigrate after we did, but for some reason the Western country refused them in, we later found out their father was a high up in the PZPR. Many people refused to co-operate and just went alog. Szymborska promoted communism. She's not a good role model. So I disagree.
@@peterc4082 Well, that's news to me then. I don't feel too strongly about her either way. I remember some guy in our city had a street named after him and I said to my grandpa that he was a communist and he responded "What kind of communist is he?" and he didn't feel that it was much to it other than being a part of higher status at that time. Have a nice day, sir.

14:31 It's a container for lids from bottles. They used to be bought for a bigger price by the places with collection of secondary raw materials - I thought because they would need to be removed from the bottle before recycling. Anyways they were routinely used for charity collection for various cases and I guess this is a place where you can donate them for such a case - perhaps some medical charity as it is in a shape of a red heart and there's pulse in it - or it just signifies that you have a beating heart and like to help others.

Stu, I really enjoyed watching your video. I find it very interesting and informative. Good job. Keep it up! Kornik is a very beautiful town. One of many in Poland. In my opinion, it is worth visiting Poland. This country has a lot to offer. A multitude of regions and landscapes, beautiful architecture, friendly people, delicious food, well-developed road, highway and railway infrastructure make Poland, at least for me, one of the best European tourist destination.
7:07 the Royal Castle in Poznan ( as mentioned "Zamek Przemysla" fromt he dude who had it built) was destroyed in the Northern War iirc, was rebuilt and then destoryed once more in 1945 ofc. What stands there currently is a 'reconstruction' that is by many considered as not accurate. Awesome vid btw, your pronounciation is very good! I live in the area so it's kinda weird seeing this haha, all the best :)
Great job, Stu! It's really nice to see the less traveled areas of Poland. Surprising is that you can get around to even remote places without owning a car. Dobrze się Ciebie słucha i ogląda. Ciekawe co Tobą kierowało przy wyborze Leszna. Poznań i Leszno - moje tereny. Czekam na kolejne filmy
Dzięki za relację z Kórnika i pokazywanie Polski od tej prawdziwej strony.
Miłego pobytu. Trzymaj się!
Your Polish pronunciation is fantastic👌Great accent, like a native. I am so impressed. Stu , if you learn more words and grammar you will speak perfect Polish👏👏👏I enjoy your films so much. Thank you
Thank you! I appreciate it. But definitely not like a native 😅
@@RoamingwithStuNaprawdę, bardzo dobra wymowa!
Totally agree

Matma i Fiza to był dla mnie koszmar. Po latach nieuczenia się angielskiego, ale oglądałem filmy i pobrałem sobie kika piosenek Stinga na wydruk i tak się nauczyłem angielskiego w wymowie :)
I just started learning 1--1/2 months ago Polish with Babbel. It's so helpful also watching your tube to practice cuz I dont have anyone Polish to speak to! I love seeing the small towns and countryside your visiting in Poland! Dzienkuje! Do widzenia!
Great job! Keep in mind though, a lot of the things I say is not grammatically correct.
I recommend the beautiful Gothic Toruń. The center of Poland, 170 km. from Gdańsk. Nicolaus Copernicus was born there.
I was already there, and saw the statue 😁

Hahahahahahaha 🤣 thanks!
I thought the same 😂I had to rewind. I couldn’t believe my ears
Cieszę się że
dobrze się czujesz w mojej Ojczyźnie, z Poznania do Kurnika masz autobusy z Ronda Rataje
Pozdrawiam Cię
Polska ma bardzo burzliwą historię...
Byś chociaż ten kurnik poprawił, nawet ten chłop z zagranicy bez znajomości naszego alfabetu napisał to poprawnie, wstyd coś takiego publikować.
I like to see how Poland looks from the forefinger perspective :) You speek Polish very well 👌
Thank you! 😃 It's fun to see polish people's reaction to a foreigner's perspective
Thank you for the recommendations 🙂
Rogalin Castle is also close to Poznan!
Great videos , I recommend Wronki, about 60km from poznan , train takes you to the heart of the town , lovely place

Brawo!!! Twój polski jest zajebisty ziomek. Mega pozdrawiamy i zapraszamy znów do Poznania! Samych takich turystów jak Ty i świat byłby lepszy 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Świetny film! Pozdrawiam ze Śremu, o którym mówił kierowca. Szkoda, że do nas nie dotarłeś.
This is great content! I look forward to future videos 😀 Those 27m flew by too quickly
I really appreciate that! I thought maybe 27 min would be a little bit too long
😁
Super , fajnie się ogląda , następnym razem zapraszam do Mosiny ;)
Bardzo sympatyczny gość z Ciebie 🙂
You should have asked us before. There is very easy connection between Kórnik and Poznań, but you know it probably now, because direct buses go from Rondo Rataje quiete frequent. I am always ready for advice. Greetings from Poznań once again.
po kurniku konicznie musi pan odwiedzić ZAKOPANE, które z kurnikiem łączy postać Hrabiego Zamoyskiego
Respect for speaking Polish 🙏
Appreciate it 💪🏻
You got my thumbs up Stu ! :) Nice and funny :)
Thank you for watching ❤️
Szczodrzykowo nic nikomu nie mówi, o Kórniku jest głośno
Ciężko znaleźć ta ścieżkę do Kórnika z dworca. Mogli by puki jeszcze jest jakoś ja oznakować.
Pozdrawiam z Kórnika🇵🇱👍
Pozdrawiam 😁
the way you say polish words is amazing! well done :)
Wow, thank you! 😁
"O kurwa" to było najlepsze 😂 Twój polski jest naprawdę niezły i super sobie radzisz 👍Fajnie, że ludzie w Polsce są pomocni.
Dziękuję bardzo 😅 tak, oni byli bardzo pomocni
It’s great that you’re trying to speak polish! It is impossible to learn without making mistakes - I’ve had the same problem with the French language.
Du er veldig bra, I hope you’ll progress even more. You can be proud of what you’ve learned already.
He’s not trying. He speaks Polish.
Thank you for watching 😊 I'm glad it inspired you. I will definitely check out the palace in Rogalin, maybe next time in Poland
Yay I already love this channel. Your interactions are very wholesome, I love watching people connect like that. Keep it up ❤ ps: come to wroclaw :P
Thank you, I appreciate the support. I was in Wrocław many years ago, but I should go again with the camera 🤣

2:32 yep, cocks on the walls, especially at the bus stops, are some kind of trademark in Poland! It’s been like that for decades! I am surprised the bus schedule was not burned!
Lots of cocks on bus stops in Norway also 😂

To bardzo ciekawe, oglądać mój kraj Twoimi oczami. Powodzenia :)
Hi. Well, my video is good because of this situation with the Kórnik train station, so I am happy for that situation 😁
@@RoamingwithStuand thanks to your video I learned something new about my country! I will for sure remember there is no direct train to Kornik! Iy is indeed confusing!!
You are so friendly and open, that's why others are so warm for you. Watching this video was a pleasure. And your polish is fantastic. I really admire your skills and pure enjoyment of learning one of the most difficult languages. Świetna robota (great job!).
In this Kórnik Wisława Szymborska was born, nobel prize in literature winner.
Thanks for the info :)
She was a communist though. So not a hero to many Poles who refused to co-operate and believe in that system. Good video. Glad that Norwegians, used to high standards, appreciate Poland this much. :)
@@peterc4082 Everyone were communists in Polish People's Republic. Please, don't generalize.
I am happy you had a good time in Poland. Many people from Norwey visiring Poland ❤
Thank you! Yes, a lot of Norwegians visit Gdańsk or Kraków, but probably I am the first Norwegian in Kórnik? 💪🏻😁🇸🇯

Pozdrawiam
Miło że nas odwiedziłeś 🙂👍
very nice video and your Polish is quite good.
Pałac w Rogalinie - have you been there? or "Dwór w Koszutach" or "Dwór Skrzynki" ...
I have never been to any of those. Thanks 😁
14:31 It's a container for lids from bottles. They used to be bought for a bigger price by the places with collection of secondary raw materials - I thought because they would need to be removed from the bottle before recycling. Anyways they were routinely used for charity collection for various cases and I guess this is a place where you can donate them for such a case - perhaps some medical charity as it is in a shape of a red heart and there's pulse in it - or it just signifies that you have a beating heart and like to help others.
zakrętki mają większą wartość, bo zajmują mniej miejsca w transporcie niż np. plastikowe butelki

Hey:) I just moved back to Poland after living in the uk for 18 years. I now live close to Poznan. Your polish is really good, and I admire you for trying and not being shy to speak with strangers. Your pronunciation is so good, some words you say perfectly.
If you haven’t already, I recommend you to visit Książ castle in Wałbrzych. Its my favourite one 😊 good luck with your travels and stay safe. Powodzenia!
Thank you! 😃 And thanks for the tip. But, I am definitely shy. I definitely get nervous when I do those things. It is normal 😁
Thank you for watching ❤️ I agree with you. It's easy to get around by train, and there is so much to see and experience!
Man, you met some good people out there! Happy for you. Cheers!
Thanks! Yes they were indeed very friendly and helpful people 😁
7:07 the Royal Castle in Poznan ( as mentioned "Zamek Przemysla" fromt he dude who had it built) was destroyed in the Northern War iirc, was rebuilt and then destoryed once more in 1945 ofc. What stands there currently is a 'reconstruction' that is by many considered as not accurate. Awesome vid btw, your pronounciation is very good! I live in the area so it's kinda weird seeing this haha, all the best :)
So cool your interactions man…. Go for it 🎉
Thanks! Will do! 💪🏻
I love Kornik, I was there first time with my class when I was 10 years old and you could see all even smallest rooms back then
Great job, Stu! It's really nice to see the less traveled areas of Poland. Surprising is that you can get around to even remote places without owning a car. Also, surprising is that so many people speak English even outside the big cities.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos. BTW, your Polish is great!
Thanks! 😃 I'm happy you enjoyed it. There are many places in Poland which is never documented by tourists from Norway 😜
Dunno if someone already said it but about that red heart-shaped container - those are for plastic bottle caps. Once full, they are taken for recycling and money from them go to charity or to help specific campaign such as helping cery ill kids etc.
Yeah, someone already said it. But I appreciate the comment, and thank you for watching 😊
