An eventful Cockney Odyssey. This of course is not an exhaustive list of places that serve decent stout in London, it's impossible for me to visit all of them and I visited as many as I could in the limited time I had. I know some of you have your own favourite watering holes down there but id be shocked if any of them were much better or equal to these establishments apart from a couple of pubs I wanted to visit but couldn't find the time to. But I do try and feature such places or some of the places in this video when City play away in London or at Wembley. If you have or intend to visit any of these places drop me a line. If you have been to the establishments I feature here and you can find something clearly better , let me know in the comments section.
Have you tried Forged stout ? I am a guinness drinker from Cork ( loved your visit to Cork) but i got 4 cans of Forged stout yesterday and it poured great and for me tasted better than guinness. Hopefully it comes to cork on draught.
As the barman said, Kölsch is from Köln (Cologne). You only get it there. There are many breweries in the city and many have their own brauhaus’s. Excellent beer and food culture there. Very much worth a trip. In the brauhaus’s they serve the Kölsch in 200ml, lovely thin glasses and have waiters going around ready to give you a fresh one when you run dry. They keep a tally of how many you’ve had on your coaster. Just down the river is Düsseldorf where they have Altbier which is copper coloured. Similar set up in the brauhaus’s.
London Black is also my favourite drop. I am so lucky that we have two establishments in my home town of Clitheroe that sell it. If you fancy a journey to Clitheroe rather than to London, the two places that sell London Black in Clitheroe are the "Beer Shack" which is a two minute walk from the train station and then a further three minute walk from there is the "Ale House". Both are fantastic establishments! These two are the new kids on the block and the New Inn has always been the place to go for Cask, so three great places to have a drink within a 5 minute walk of the train station.
@primemutton I'd have to respectfully disagree there sir. I've been about 5 or 6 times now and it seems to be getting better and better. Anyway, great video as always!
@alspurs1990 It really isn't at all. Sure, there might be tourists in there because of the location, but the price of Guinness is within 20p of most other places in central. Mutton, you should try the Guinness at the Coach & Horses, just off Covent Garden Market. It's up there with Sheephaven Bay and (in my opinion) The Devonshire
@@nl1559 well if you’ve had Guinness in all of them then it’s interesting to hear what you’re saying . The coach and horses was on my list of venues but I ran out of time . I’ll try the Devonshire again and while it’s a good pint , some of my viewers/followers raved about it so much that I thought I’d be getting Dublin quality Guinness , which it clearly isn’t.
Good to see Stone and Wood making an appearence I promise we have some better beers in Australia. Stone and Wood is the beer that everyone drinks when they turn 18 and start drinking moving on to better IPA's later, a good beginner.
Good stuff Mutton. I hate the word "shtick" too. I notice you called it lining I the glass. The word your looking for is "lacing". That sounds much better!
Hi Mr. Mutton, if you ever find yourself in Macclesfield, I can recommend the George and Dragon for a Guinness, and the real ale pubs The Castle or the Waters Green Tavern, I'm a Macc Blue.
A British Pork Pie is the best snack with any beer, and with the pastry a much better partner in soaking up the liquid than purely a meat based product.
Well you could well be right there , because the manager of the Anspach and Hobday taproom also recommended it. Really want to go there on one of my cockney odysseys , maybe for FA Cup semi final
Sheephaven Bay for me is the best Guinness in London. Very reasonable at less than £6 as well. In the Dublin Castle it was nearly £8 for a distinctly average pint.

@@51bdc yes and it’s decent, reviewed it twice on my IG . A good bet if the Guinness is a bit iffy

Primemutton at The Devonshire!! Lovely stuff!
It was quite good but not the holy grail that sone were suggesting (especially on my instagram)

Overpriced tourist trap

Another great video and review. Cheers
The Euston tap on the return trip is one of the best things about visiting London. Itsu and a few beers from M&S for the train home.

The beer and pubs all look excellent.
An excellent description of Kolsch from the bartender at The Arch House.
Courtney has excellent beer knowledge , very helpful to anyone unsure of which beer to order.
Lol, muttonistas are everywhere, eh Jason!
Looks like you had a great time there mate, suppin' all that excellent beer.

Welcome back!
Mahou is lovely. Always have it when in the Canaries if they have it.
He’s back
Lol, he sure is!
Great Guy !
Good man !

I often go to the red willow and used to go to the silk trader before it changed hands
Red Willow is great, but also love The Castle. Up past the Silk Trader is The Wharf, much better.
Cheers from Boston!
The Legend !
Heading to London weekend. Beamish or Murphys stout?
hard to find either . Guinness or London Black best bets
A British Pork Pie is the best snack with any beer, and with the pastry a much better partner in soaking up the liquid than purely a meat based product.
I like pork pies as well but biltong my favourite beer snack
Primemutton . Check out Keens Rest . New York City . Great Mutton chops !
Finally a video! When are the next football vlogs coming?
villa at home 3 April
I’ve been in China for almost a month so it made editing and posting rather tricky
the legend
The new speed system, pints per hour, brilliant
Great video, do you ever get drunk?!
I was teetering at the end of this vlog ! But yes usually off camera
MUTTON!💪💪🍺🍺
You need to get to the Dog & Bell in Deptford lad, it’s better than Shephaven for sure
Well you could well be right there , because the manager of the Anspach and Hobday taproom also recommended it. Really want to go there on one of my cockney odysseys , maybe for FA Cup semi final
Are you going to Palace away? @@primemutton

Best pint of Guinness I have ever had is Clark,s Bar Drogheda in Ireland. If you go to Ireland go to Drogheda some brilliant bars there .😊
I went in that bar in Stoke Newington before the United game at Spurs this season. I thought the Guinness was ok nothing special.
I’d say pretty good by English standards not so by Irish standards
atta boy
Youngs stout on tap is beautiful and sorry but it has to be jerky over biltong
Weak drinking again Mutton, at least 15 pints per evening🍺
On the Guinness !
