I’m glad you gave the warning about the bull elk. They can be so unpredictable during the rut. 👍👍👍

Your video reminds me of my trip to the Canadian Rockies in September 2016. Maligne Lake Road was the best spot for wildlife for us, too. Before we went there, we had "only" seen bighorn sheep, elks and squirrels. On our way to Maligne Lake we stopped at Medicine Lake and saw two bald eagles (one juvenile). At Maligne Lake car park there were to moose (female with calf). We hiked up the Bald Hills and on our way back just past Medicine Lake we saw our first wild bear. 🐻 That was a perfect day. I didn't know that people ignore Edith Cavell. I thought it was one of the main hikes around Jasper. We loved the glaciers as well as the picas and marmots 😍 Thanks a lot for sharing all these beautiful places!

Lovely images of the waterfall, Brendan. Nice to see Edith Cavell is remembered in Canada as well - we have a lovely bridge named after her on the Shotover River near Queenstown, NZ.

What a treat to see those places through your eyes. We travelled through that area 4 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed our drive from Jasper to Banff. The mountains and forests are so very different to our Aussie landscapes - must get back there again one day 📷

Edith Cavell and Angel Glacier are a beautiful place (or at least were when I was there in 1997). Yet, there are sooo many beautiful hikes and spots in the Canadian Rockies. I also remember walking along a track where at the foot of a rock pile there was a sign that pikas might be spotted there - and right below that sign there sat a pika. Unfortunately, I wasn‘t quick enough to take a photo, but the memory alone always brings back a smile. Even back then the famous places like Lake Louise (where a campervan hit my rental car while I was hiking and left without notice) were pretty crowded. But it was always easy to find a walk where you would only meet very few people. I‘ve never understood why so many people just stick to the most well-known spots when beauty is all around. I‘ve always wanted to return to the Canadian Rockies since that visit where I had one of the happiest days in my life. And while so far that hasn‘t happened, the day will come! Enjoy your time and cherish that your home is among the most beautiful places on earth.

Oh, moose are crazy. I remember reading a story in a magazine for hunters. A national park ranger in Latvia was walking in a forest, when suddenly there was a moose standing in front of her. It was their mating season. The moose saw the ranger and become very interested in her... sexually. She wrote that she was running as fast as she could and luckily there was a tree to climb. But moose was really in love and wasn't going away. So she was sitting in a tree for at least an hour, while he was roaming under the tree very dissatisfied. :D

The design for Pikachu, one of the main characters in the popular game franchise Pocket Monsters, better known as Pokemon, was based on a squirrel - not a mouse - developers of the game have told The Yomiuri Shimbun.

@@BrendanvanSon Still a bit strange. If I were touring a a few countries in Europe with a final destination of Germany, while in Paris I wouldn’t refer to my current location as Germany. It is probably best to to be a bit more precise since there are probably some viewers that are not familiar with Canadian geography and your terminology is misleading. But anyway, great photos and enjoy your trip.
