Thank you - I was looking for a video that showed all the main photo spots that were easy to get to...there wasn't a single one that was very helpful (could be wrong, but I didn't find what I wanted). This is what I wanted so I made it.
headed there in a month, thank you for this video. when I started photography 6 years ago this place became very special, and a place I would have to earn. Your video has helped me tremendously with planning.
Thank you for the comment. I love that you love photography. I could spend the rest of my life taking photos in Banff. I saw a grizzly my last trip (actually, it was just north in Jasper NP) and that was quite amazing. I hope you have a wonderful time in Banff - you're heading there at a great time of the year.
This is an amazing video with great ideas, as we are visiting in September i will be coming back here a lot for reference. I am now subscribed and have loads more video to go through...keep up the great work, from here in the UK.
Thank you so much - I really appreciate the comment. I have many more Banff videos to come (one in two days about Moraine Lake (they are closing the parking lot!!)). Are you going to Calgary? If so, I have many videos on Calgary coming in the spring (I used to work with Tourism Calgary). Enjoy your visit in September (love the UK, btw - have been many times).
Great video! We are looking forward to our first visit to the area this summer and all the places you highlighted were all the ones we’ve planned to visit. Thanks for putting it all in one video.
Thank you, Kim. You are going to LOVE it. Certain areas of the park get really busy as the day moves on so get there early (i.e. Banff townsite is okay early in the morning but by mid-morning, busy!). Moraine Lake is already full by around 5am, so again - plan ahead if you want to see that. I missed out on Banff Gondola this summer because it was booked up (I've been up before, but really wanted to go again). Enjoy it though!
Awesome video - very well done. Question - you said the road to Moraine Lake is only open from early June to mid October. My photographer buddy and I are going to Banff Mid May. Is it hikeable to get to Moraine, or is it very far?
Thank you very much for the comment. It is hikeable in theory but discouraged (this area is an avalanche area too). There are cross-country ski trails (see here for some winter hiking and cross country skiing:parks.canada.ca/pn-np/ab/banff/activ/marchehiver-winterwalking) to Moraine Lake though. The road down to Moraine Lake is about 12 km! One more thing to add, the parking lot (when it's open) is now closed to car parking. Only shuttle buses can park there so it'll be a real headache from now on.
We are heading to Banff in mid August!! Will it be busy???? LOL LOL LOL. OK here's my real question. I'm trying to find the pulloff for Castle Mountain on google maps. Is it at the intersection of 93 and 1? Because I see something just east of the Bow River that looks like a parking lot. TIA
ahmazing
The best video like this. Just … awesome. Subscribed.
Thank you very much.
This is great! Went to Banff last year and of course did moraine and lake Louise. Lake Agnes was a bad miss. Next time!
Thank you.
Banff is gorgeous
It is! Amazing place.
Such a beautiful park! I will have to put this on my travel list!
Banff is so much fun but super busy in the summer (and expensive). Best in late May or late September. Great video.
Agree with everything you just said. I prefer late September or early October.
wow - surprised no-one else has done one this good. Loved it and will watch again. Going to Banff next year.
