Although i do think its a weak example for destiny to say a french person from the countryside and one from a big city would have less in common than a french guy from the countryside and someone from a rural part of an african country, his point still stands. From my experience as someone who has worked with people from over 25 different countries, Destiny is 100% right. A Christian is the US would absolutely have more in common with a Christian in Pakistan than would a Christian in Florida and a liberal in California. I’ve seen and felt it personally time and time again. It’s all about values that connects people, skin color really has almost nothing to do with it.

According to the CDC, the leading cause of death in people from ages 1-44 is "Unintentional injury," which includes overdosing, Overdosing (or "Poisoning" according to the CDC" makes up most of those deaths (atleast in 2020). So, atleast according to the CDC, he isn't far off.

It's tough doing these in real time because people like this will throw out all sorts of random off the wall "stats" which you can't really look up IRL so it's good to see how Destiny handled that stuff here by cutting through it and trying to get him to answer clear questions like "what is culture?" or "what is MOST important in your ideal society, religion or ethnicity?" etc.

Damn ever since I found Destiny when he went on FnF, I have been fascinated by his content.
This is a really important video, and honestly more debates with views that require the opposition to be censored could do a lot to help counter their points publicly and pull back particular viewers who could otherwise be polarized if they were fed false rhetoric.
Destiny can never match the level of iconic meme that Steven Crowder created doing shit like this. BUT..... Destiny has way better conversations. He alone provides quality conversation. And that's something the right people will flock to

One could be forgiven for not being able to read the lines and understand the context of the actual point at hand. When you hear a conservative say "the border is open", surely you recognize they don't mean we have a literal open border policy in Washington. They mean it's unsecured. The high number of apprehensions is merely attributed to the extreme influx of thousands of people per day. Not because we've somehow implemented more effective policy in the dead of night... I'd argue black and white southerners are far closer in culture than a white american and a white european, also the whole "what if they were brothers" thing kinda just points towards Destiny's point which is that it's more about locality and the type of environment, two brothers separated at birth in different places won't have the same culture.

That's my perspective too, but also I think cultures are a lot more similar than dissimilar around the world, subject to class issues. It really was mind blowing to me in first year of university that I was hanging out with a French man, Lithuanian, Saudi, Ghanaian and 3 English dudes, and we slotted together seamlessly, bonding over weed, football and shit-talk banter. I think I had more in common as a middle class Barbadian with the Ghanaian than I do with lower class barbadians.
Culture is irrelevant. USA and Communist Russia, had the extreme opposite point of view, but they both managed to become world superpowers cause of their European population.
USA won just because they had most of Europe on their side ( military occupied ). If France Germany and Italy (a superpower by its own) were with Russia, USA would probably be socialist now. It's very true what Destiny says about the different ways in-group and out-group can manifest. This might be a trivial example but we see a strong us vs them mentality in sport fans when playing against other countries where all fans of one nation unite, but when local teams play against each other in the same nation the hatred against each other is extreme. And these are people that would hug at the world cup when their national team scores a goal.
Nothing unties a people more then a foreign enemy to hate.

As someone who has traveled to a handful of different countries and interacted closely with the local people, I can say that Destiny is 100% right (in some sense). I’m a Christian and it’s 100% true that a Christian from the US and a Christian from Pakistan are going to have more in common than a Christian from Florida and a Socialist from California.

To protect someone's identity more reliably in similar fashion in the future, each microphone should be routed into its own, isolated channel (assuming they weren't; perhaps the post-recording guy is simply at fault). Since I know what Destiny's voice should sound like, all I have to do is shift the pitch/formants in his voice in parts where the two voices overlap (and are therefore both affected by the censorship methodology) until it sounds right, and then I have a rough idea of what the censored dude actually sounds like. In this case, the methodology is a formant decrease of around two semitones.
