Today’s phenomenal tale of terror in the old West is ‘The Challenge of the Wendigo’, an epic work by Cameron Waggoner, kindly shared directly with me originally via my sub-r-ddit (complete version sent via email) and narrated here for you all with the author’s express permission.

With all the troubles we are facing these days it was a welcome respite to listen to this presentation. I did as I have done several times prior; prepared a glass of Maker's single malt, picked a Romeo and Juliet cigar, went out to the patio and started the fire pit, sat in my Adorondack chair, lit the cigar turned on this well done story and spent the next minutes remembering why life is good. Thank you for these moments of escape.
Compensation syndrome example entered here.
Finally a wendigo tale deserving of a movie
Mad props to all the authors that have submitted over the years
Snow just starting outside, long night at work ahead of me, and this was exactly what the Doctor ordered. Much appreciated Doc
Good luck brother✌🏼
@@The-LongRoad-Home much appreciated my guy!
Actually its what you ordered. And what the doctor delivered. ;)
@Jackie Kennedy Ah jeez, hope you can stay safe and warm!

This is by far one of my favorites, the details, the characters, the Wendigo. The description paired with my imagination gave me amazing scenery, thank you for reading it to us!
I always fall asleep faster to interesting, well-written stories... I'm on night 12 of listening to this and finally getting near the end. Great story and great narration as usual.
One of the best(in my opinion) that you have ever done! Just behind Tommy Taffy,Dead Man running and breach
Ok, you’re like the 6th person to claim that Tommy Taffy was amazing. I’ve yet to hear it, the opening with another narrator always turns me off. I need to give it more of a Chance.
Author here, having finally listened to all three of them I have to agree, with Breach being my favorite of those three
Never listened to breach or dead man running im glad I clicked on comments thanks all for mentioning
I’ve listened to hundreds of Wendigo stories believe me but this is the BEST wendigo story I have ever heard.
Gotta luv the old west tales, blood trails , sharp rock. To name a few. I'm sure the author knows their story is in good hands. The Dr knows best
I like "the blue mist" too
Nothing like Dr. C. on a chilly night. If only I had a fireplace with a crackling fire going!
The good doctor is puttin' in work. This is like the sixth upload in as many days. I realy needed this today. Im goona chill, and forget about the crap day i just had.
Love and am totally addicted to your long stories as I am going to leave my cancer in GODS hands. You give me company on my 5 mile walks with my Jack Russell. Porter out !
Thank you Doc! One of your best narrations and WOW! Props to the author! Great story!!
I like how the final showdown had that crazy twist!! I though it was one of those everybody dies stories. Very well written
Sometimes I get so involved in the stories that I forget to smash that like button, but I'm getting better! 💜 MUCH LOVE 💜 👍👍👍👍👍
Just love these type of old style tales! Thank you!
Glad you enjoy it!
A good story, well told. It just doesn't get any better. And as always, I appreciate the time and dedication to your craft of voice in this dramatic reading, plus all of the behind the scenes work involved. Thank you. You're enriching many lives.
Thank you for sharing your stories I love them
This is one of my favorites from this channel so far! I love well paced stories with ancient lore, action, and somewhat happy endings.
You're a proper mad man. 2 hour story nonstop????
I usually dislike romanticized endings but after all they went through, I was so happy to hear that last line I almost swooned. Great story.
I'm so glad that I found this story... It goes right along perfectly with " "Interview with an Wendigo"... As always thank you Dear Dr for such an amazing story....
Your the only one that I listen to. I really like your reading style and voice. You always make my imagination work over time and I love that. So thank you very much 😊
This is an excellent story. Well written and narrated perfectly.
Legit all I've been asking for Christmas is another Wendigo story from the doctor. Now I can sleep easy haha.
The way you correctly pronounce everything, with such ease, is just *chef's kiss*
YES! Another wendigo story!
These storys are one of the few things that makes work tolerable and keep me sane honestly other than chain smoking
😂
Love your Wendigo stories Doc and its even more awesome that it takes in the Old West which is the perfect setting IMO.
The old west touch really took this story to a new level.
That was probably the best story on the channel. The best one that I have ever heard.
Excellent story! Most creepypasta seem incomplete. They're full of plot holes that leave you wanting to know more about what happened or how it got to where it ended. Love your narration!🇨🇱🖤🎤🙀
Need more!!! I listen to your stories at work all day long and makes the days better. Thank you! More cryptic please.
That was excellent! I love when you act silly at the end because it was so long! 💖💖💖 I always look forward to listening to you!
Thanx Doc for making our nights more enjoyable.
My pleasure!
One of your best Doc and the author knows their way around a good Western whether they're fans or not.
I've heard a lot of Wendigo stories but the black stomach pustules were a first. And what a disgusting purpose they serve.
Always a pleasure stopping by and listening to your stories. You are awesome at your job Doc!
Thank you kindly!
When I hear the word wendigo, I can't resist.
Solid story bout redemption. I liked it.
Quite a story. Made me stay up awful late though naughty Dr! Give your voice a much needed rest. See you soon dearest Dr
Sorry!
Yet another masterpiece, keep em coming Doc!
I have to say that this is one of the best stories you have ever done. I enjoyed it all the way through and would love to hear more like it. Very well done on both your and the authors parts of this small work of art.
I've become addicted to listening to your voice while falling asleep. You have the most amazing ability to create both a sense of well-being and one where I want to pull the covers over my head cause I'm so scared!
Incredible to thank you!
Fantastic story and well narrated Dr. Creepen. I enjoy how the author showed his chracter with Christian beliefs without throwing cuts in. Also kept it very historically appropriate in my opinion. Just a good job all around. I think I've listened to this one a couple of times now.
One of your best doc. Thank u yet again 👏🙌
Wow, thank you!
@@DrCreepen stay ever yet the rockstar good sir 🥃
This story hooked the old man into listening - good job!

Fantastic story, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It was a fantastic story Dr! Thank you for your 2+hour voice sacrifice
All right this was a long story which generally your stories are along with you I like your narrations but this is probably like one of the best stories I've ever heard and you narrated it excellently. this is definitely made into a movie like this would easily be like an a-list top selling Hollywood movie.
A beautiful ending to a fantastic tale.
Oh yeah!!!! Over 2:12:00 hours of Dr. Creepen's lushlicious 😜 voice.. MMM;) thank you for the blood curdling 😫 Narration!!!! I hope that you and everyone else has a wreathlicious🎄 Wednesday Night and are safe too 🧡 much love Sexy Grandma Darkness ✌️💋
Once again doctor you amaze perfectly narrated plus whoever the writer is God bless them that was an amazing story I love that it had a perfect ending to such a horrible and tragic story I love the fact that her name is Esperanza which means hope because in the end she gives him hope which is all a man needs to keep going
Great story brother. I liked it. Great narration and well written. Thanks for all the work you put into reading these stories.
This was awesome thank you ! Wendigo are my favourite
Great one Doc! Well written and read!
Speechless
Fantastic narration and story! Thank you Doc!
Blessings and good health to you and yours!
XOX Luna & Family 💚☃️💚
A Good Bow with a stick of dynamite fixed to a silver tipped field head would've been awesome for a narration like this. Thanks Brother for the hard work
Going to play this one next time I'm kayak camping on the sabine river. Kids will be in there tent when the coyotes start singing.
Absolutely fantastic story!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Doc i loved the story and the way you tell it is memorizing. You really brought me into the world and i could almost see the events you spoke. Love your channel
I love your style man, keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
2 hours of a Wendigo story from our Dr C? It’s an early Christmas! Ok Dr Creepen, I am truly sorry about your sore throat. And it seems that many many people have offered remedies to you. But, don’t even joke about not being able to do more! That’s not funny, and if you need to take some time off, post some your older stories as fillers, God knows you’ve got over 1000 of them! I’ve been working my way through them slowly. Get well soon! Truly hope you feel better, you provide a service that is only comparable to, well therapy of sorts. So thank you.👍
Loved the poison story!!!🖤🖤🖤many thanks xxx
I absolutely love these stories. Thanks for taking the time to share ❤.

Top marks chap!!!! Great story the ending was unexpected
The post Civil War ambiance went perfectly with the legends.

"He was aiming for the explosives at his feet, but the others and I were too preoccupied with stabbing the corpses of the other Wendigo to notice"
How does he know what he was doing then? Nitpicky, I know, but it has been said at least a couple times so far that someone was doing something, yet the narrator was "too preoccupied to notice" 🤨
I'm really enjoying the story, though. I can't turn down a wendigo tale.
Your nitpicks are welcome, as I have an awful tendency to overwrite in some places, this being one of them.
I like to think the issue is corrected in the screenplay a little bit (where the story doesn't need to rely on the narrator's perspective) but it's something I'm working on and having attention brought to it reminds me of how important it is I correct these mistakes.
Glad you liked my story despite that!
oh, I thought he knew details because he kept reiterating that the survivors stuck around long enough to basically fact check everything he wrote like a news correspondent. He said that others told him that but he didn't see it-he only saw the Wendigo shift its attention so he believed their account to be true.
@@xrystal89 you are completely correct. Just my opinion but I had no problem following along
The writer is giving info to the reader. This problem would been solved by 3rd person writing like "John did X and was focused on it so he missed out on Y" sadly nosleep has ATON of rules where everh stort must be written in first person be "believeable" etc...
@turtle nail on the freaking head about the rules on r/nosleep. I HATED the original title I gave this story strictly to account for the style nosleep goes for, and am immensely thankful Dr. Creepen let me use my originally intended title
Faacherrt cracks me another cold one hell yeah doc 👋 thanks cheers boss 🍻🍺💪👌
