How did that go for you? I’m listening to it while I’m at work during the day to pass some time while nothing is happening. Wasn’t really scared of this story, at the most you could say is unsettled. Granted that could be because of my setting. After all, atmosphere can make something more frightening.

I gotta agree with you on this one, half of it was just backstory about the main characters life. Not that character building isn't important, but eh.

what if the last mannequin that she saw with the pink trainers were Katy but because she escaped in time, her face was not on the mannequin like those who had actually died. just like the wife that the killer shot, she is still alive but her mannequin was in the kitchen faceless but his child had a face and he was killed... so maybe the faceless ones are people who had escaped death...
Leong Tze Wan why would there be mannequins in their likeness if they had, in fact, escaped?
@@youwatch2muchtv the mannequins can copy what they see, but they can't copy the life essence that is represented with a face, unless they manage to capture their victims....

Didn’t they say that he’d killed 9 people, and she saw exactly 9 mannequins in the cellar? When the one began moving it led me to think that their souls had been trapped in the faceless mannequins. As far as the faces, I have no idea. To me the scariest was the girl reaching out wearing the pink converse. It’s as if it did get part of her soul, but maybe not enough to trap her?
What if they are empty vessels waiting to be filled and then have a face

Wow! Loved it! This story was amazing. Do you remember that strange Christmas movie called 'A Mother for Christmas'? Late 80's or early 90's made for TV. It involved a young girl being raised by a since dad, poor, wishes for a mom, at the mall she always lurks in. It actually gets to be pretty fucking scary because of these faceless mannequins. The mother the girl gets is originally this pretty mannequin she likes. It's a crazy film, both cheesy + scary at times. 💋💋💋

Knowing that the killer had made mannequins to look like his victims, it would be terrifying to find one that obviously resembled yourself. Especially if it was moving.
But also, the kids had found mannequins representing the wife and son, but not the man himself. Makes one wonder if that is what she saw in the cellar-or perhaps him working on her mannequin.

Imagine if the mannequins were his victims. Not only did they look like his victims, they were his victims. He covered their bodies in sone sort latex liquid that hardened as it dried. All this while they were alive. They died a week or two later. Now that's creepy. They rise from the dead everytime someone enters the house. I think I saw a horror film similar to that many many years ago when I was a kid.
Only had to read the title to know this would be a scary one! Your narration is the selling point though Doctor :)

That's typical of young kids, they think the internet always existed. I have gotten blank stares from kids like that when I mentioned: "before the internet".
Oh Cumbria. A beautiful county with beautiful lakes and hills, but the people who live there are something to be desired. Coming from experience after living there for over a decade.

The fact that people actually dislike watching horror movies and being afraid boggles my mind. I love that shit. I stare into the abyss every chance I get. I'm like Katie in that I am a bit of a serial killer afficianado. Not that I want to be one, I just find criminal psychology fascinating.
