I love the idea of the Toymaker and those affiliated with him knowing they’re in a tv show and breaking the fourth wall constantly

Honestly Maestro and her power over music makes me think of the villain Nobody No-one from the Doctor who audio drama "A death in the family"and his power over words. God i wish we could see that gloriously horrifying bastard in live action, he'd fit right in with these performative gods.

Honestly Nobody No-one would be right at home with these God-like characters in the current series. Only others I can think of is the Trickster and the Gods of Ragnarök

I have a head cannon that Maestro was in fact attempting to over take the theme but it’s the most powerful form of music in the whole whoniverse and it broke free , thus why it cuts back into the normal music.

This episode might be one of the most unique, unhinged installment of Doctor Who to date. LOL I had this theory going on that because it was so off the way and I would even say fourth wall breaking, that there's still some elements of the Toymaker's effect still at play. Just a thought.

@@Seagull425 I did hear that, which game my theory some credence. And so now I'm wondering if the Toymaker will be the placeholder for the Master. Like the big bad who goes toe to toe with the Doctor now.
I can't figure out if it's the Toy Makers effects still at play, or if 14 drawing the line of salt at the edge of the universe and evoking all of those side effects is what's causing the 4th wall break.
Whatever happens, I really hope they bring back the toymaker and maestro in an episode together, perhaps for 1 last battle at the end of Ncutis run? Jinkx Monson, Neil Patrick Harris and Ncuti Gatwa in 1 episode would be absoutley epic.
@@TreyMcDonaldAnimator you see that would be good if we also didn't know that the toymakers power only worked in an area of effect, also he had to be in the same timeline, it is more reasonable they all have their own ability and own things hence the "there's always a twist at the end" song where everyone had to do a song and dance number.
Changing the theme to fit the episodes is much better, why couldn't this happen in previous years 😂

@@tsohgallik after checking, I was wrong, it wasn't during David's run, Series 7A had different colours for each story and Capaldi had a couple different visual one-off changes as well. Though Before the Flood and The Devil's Chord are the only ones where the music is is altered.

coulda been super fun, but the transition was probably because all of the piano part for the beginning was likely actually the live playing right there.

Disney budget increase = fixed outer space backgrounds and cleaner looking jump back into the Vortex with a much more proper looking Logo Title materializing within it :P
@@ClonestIt’s the same VFX so not really. Just composited differently which I think improves nicely. The majority of the budget wouldve already been spent creating the VFX in the first place. Stop trying to sound clever!
I think Ncuti deserves his own title sequence. Though this is good it's to me the 60th anniversary sequence.

i thought that the idea of using the theme as non diagetic and diagetic music was a really good way of showing that maestro is from behond the universe and is able to see outside the normal whoniverse

It reminds me of the marvel intros where the music would change, it still had the marvel fanfare but the music is different, similar to what happened here, the theme was just simply piano up to a point then the rest of the normal theme played
Maestro seems to be influenced by Ursula & the Blue Meanie, which seems on point considering some of the other characters.
I thought they would say „WHOs next.“

I love that RTD brought back the proper title sequence type that feels like the nostalgic days of doctor who. I didnt like jodies titles and intro. To me, it didnt feel like doctor who, especially the look of it.
I feel the look of Jodie's was aiming very directly for a modernised version of the 60s title sequence, rather than the more traditional vortex we're used to now

The Doctor might be aware they're in a television show- saying "I thought that was non-diagetic" in response to Ruby hearing Maestro's score implies that the Doctor can hear the score of each episode as it's playing.
Non-diagetic sound is something that only the audience can hear.
Ye they seem to breaking the fourth wall a bit for all the characters which i think is gonna lead to a really interesting plot point someday! All these myths and impossibilities and supernatural occurances, just thanks to the toymaker lol

Maybe I overestimate this thing but I think this has some clear plot / lore implications.
My silly theory for Series 14 is that the Doctor is stuck in a TV show about himself, that the Pantheon of Discord has created to trap him ever since he used the Toymaker's hammer.
Perhaps Ruby doesn't exist and is a character created by them.
But 73 Yards kind of made this theory not make any sense anymore sooooo idk
Very interesting, i like the trapped in a tv show idea and i think that they will definitely use this as some form of plotline in future due to all the 4th wall breaking. We will see how things unfold...

When it gets to the Bi generation bit in the novel and it mentions the two Doctors sharing clothes the Toymaker mentions he's taking a second away from writing to see what the fanfics think about it.

Consideration for a female Doctor, and thus for the Doctor to be transgender, goes all the way back to the 70s during Tom Baker's era, and most actors who played the Doctor are vocally supportive of it. The show has always been quite left-leaning really
