Thanks so much! I love the Helios as well. I feel like that one has so much coverage, even on my own channel. Thought I would bring something different haha
Thanks dude! The Helios is an amazing lens for sure. I’m going to include my Soviet set in this vintage lens series, so stay tuned. Give you some options if you want to go wider or more telephoto
I tested a lot of 50/1.4 vintage lenses & one of the best was the canon - I prefer the later fdn version to the ssc as it is lighter & one has to fiddle less with the mount. I am using it on the sny a7r4 bth for stills and videos - it has a mix of a paintery qualty as well as being sharp. I like the early canon fl lenses as well - they have a different kind f character. The canon fdn 35/2 is also a good lens and many of these lenses shine on new sensors. I used them a lot in the film days but on modern sensors it is a real pleasure
@@Ansonandco given they pay to have all their old film and photos in a temp and humidity controlled storage place I’d be really mad if they didn’t take care of the gear in a similar way
Hey hello man, nice video as usual, sorry if I am asking you for a different lens, but I couldn't find info about it, I own the canon NFD 28mm f2, and I bought one of the cheap adaptors with the glass in the middle, but there is no way I can reach infinity, I don't really know what to do with it, and the kit conversion from simmod since I am in China I think it might be a bit hard to get, do you know any other alternative. Actually, I was planning to buy also NFD 50mm f1.4 but ........
Errr ok so you’re going FD TO EF to MFT. And there is a ton of glass between the lens and your camera. I might try two options. Either get the metabones FD to MFT speedbooster, or just a dummy adapter that is FD to MFT. Being a vintage lens you don’t need the electronic connection. If you see any BMPCC 4K clips from this video it is without a speedbooster. And it’s like $20. I think I left a link to the one I use in the description

What vintage lens would you like to see next?
Just something cool! I wouldn't even know what to as for so you pick one that you actually use in shoots.
I would love to see OM Zuiko lenses with BMPCC4K, they have very interesting image and are pretty image.
Sounds good! I have a ton of vintage glass I use for shoots and so more to come for sure!
That’s an interesting one for sure. Let me see if I can get my hands on one. We may have to make this happen
I meant to say "pretty cheap" but had a brain fart lol. At least around here, they are VERY affordable.
I've had my eye on that lens for some time. Great video, Anson!
Thanks so much!
Nice review I just got the Hellos 44-2 but this was on my list 🤔🤩🙏🏾 great review

thank you for this video! looks awesome. i have a helios 44m-4 and Carl Zeiss Jena 35mm m42. Looking at FD lenses at the moment.
Nice! I’ve always wanted to try an FD lens!
You should definitely try them out
just wondering what size focus ring you got? love the FDs - trying to kit mine all out to be more suited for video like you've done. cheers!
I have this lens.... it's fantastic!
One of my favorite lenses I have the breech lock SSC...use it all the time
I love the breach lock. Way more secure. Tempts me to pick it up
@@Ansonandco people hate them I actually prefer them 🤷🏾♂️👍🏾
Probably the same crowd that stay away from PL.

can i see the video using both lens? ssc and 35mm f2?
@@yohanesputro5980 sorry sold the 35
I want it now!!!
I need to find one asap
Yes you do!
Very nice video, what FD to EF adapter you use on BMPCC6K?
There is one by fotodiox, and it does the trick
I should really see what vintage lenses my family has lying around, be fun to find out a got a full set of canon or nikon primes from the film days
You definitely should! Just get them inspected. Some older lenses have fungus and that can damage your camera. But old finds are great!
@@Ansonandco given they pay to have all their old film and photos in a temp and humidity controlled storage place I’d be really mad if they didn’t take care of the gear in a similar way
Oh damn then you should be set!
What adapter do I need for the Blackmagic 6k pocket? And would you recommend a use one of these lenses?
You can get an adapter but I would recommend to just switch the mount from FD to EF. Is the question would I recommend for the 6k? Or in general?
Hey Anson, how would you compare this to the Helios 44-2?
Helios has more of a dirty, strong character vintage look - the canon is more of a cleaner vintage look
Ef 50 1.2 is quite character too lol
I’m interested in trying out the Canon FD’s with my 4K. How are you adapting to the Blackmagic?
I am using a $20-30 adapter from amazon. The link is in the video description

Yeah of course! Glad I could help
I have a FD 85L and a FD 24L waiting for the adapter FD to Leica L 😅
Those are beautiful lenses!
I made an adaptor for my Red scarlet to take my canon FD lenses from the 70s It works perfectly and delivers lovely images but with focus breathing 🤦🏻

Thanks ajay!

What lens adapter do you use for the Sigma fp?
