I think it’s a whole different level compared to other blanks, since i believe if they’re strong enough, a blank can harm normal people.

ngl I feel like the way this works is the emperor is like haveing his mouth shoved open really hard like really pulliing it apart to fit this all in and it's hurting him cause he is just swallowing these souls that barely fit in his mouth all at once and I feel like he is crying on the inside as all the memories thoughts feelings and wants are choked out and shoved down his throat

@@blehh_maewell, the thing is that the amount of psykers being consumed is most likely an average. It isn’t that they drain 1000 dry and start over with a completely new choir, just that on average they’re replacing about a thousand daily. You’d have some weak psykers that get consumed almost instantly and potentially some alpha-plus psykers (provided they’re not killed on the spot for the safety of an entire sector) that last for quite a while before eventually burning out. Those of the Adeptus Astronomical are trained for the job, mind you. It’s not like they just plug some random Psyker into the mix.

It is such an effort in my head to imagine, given we don't know how often people are born psykers, adding to that the chances of being found by the Sisters of Silence (you are most likely reported, btw how common are the Sisters of Silence?), sending the more stable ones to training and still sucessfully making it all the way to Terra in time.
I would imagine like prison worlds exist for replacing the ship loading crews, there are psyker containment facilities for given the quota a little buffer in case of shortage.

There are at minimum 8 quadrillion humans in the Imperium of Man, potentially as high as 1.5 quintillion. To put that into perspective:
8 quadrillion = 8,000,000,000,000,000
1.5 quintillion = 1,500,000,000,000,000,000
I don't care how unlikely it is to be a psyker, they should have no issue finding 1,000 of them per day.

@@felipeaugusto2600 Terra Alone as between 200 Billion and a Quadrillion , so they probably dont even have issue finding them on the Homeworld Itself, the Whole Terran System is inhabited be a huge part of the Imperium Population, and Technically Terra is the easiest location to go to as its where the Astronomican is located, so most travel to Terra are quick and safe.
Yeah, 1000 or even 10 000 a day is meant to be Such Grimdark!, but really that's _nothing_ . GW doesn't understand the scale of its world.
But we could, as 1d4chan points out, take the cynical view that the Astronomican is a trash compactor for unwanted/untrainable psykers. That somewhat retains the grimdark aspect at least.

You know it's odd they don't have some breeding program as it's kinda genetic trait... Actually why they don't just use damn eldars and they funny soul gems as fuel? Aren't all eldars supposed to be ridiculously powerful psykers?
They do have breeding programs in secret, the inquisition set one up around the time of 5th edition. Problem is that even if you perfectly line up all the conditions needed for it, have the genetic trait required from the two genetic samples, have all the right conditions to foster it, and so on. The psychic trait is still tied to the soul, the genetic element helps, but there is no guarantee. So it is more or less a crap shoot if it works or not, and if it dose, are they powerful enough to supply Big E. Hence why they have two naval forces, one is the actual imperial navy, and the second are the black ships. They have a entire galactic navy dedicated to just getting more fuel for Big E. More or less if they could get a breeding program working, they would of, as for the Eldar soul gem thing. Xenos = Heresy, even the more radical parts of the inquisition doesn't want to find out what happens when you tamper with Big E's daily sacrafice

Also Eldars are like rarer than Human Psykers.
Also mobile, hard to catch, and not cost effective (like trying to invade craft worlds is like hard and ones that succeeded was from Great Crusade, and small isolated ones).
Not sure about Maiden Worlds but probably too small for feeding the Big E.
Breeding psykers? That sounds both logical and smart, so it must be Heresy! We're now going to lobotomise you and stuff a computer into where your brain used to be, because then it totally doesn't count as an AI!
I kinda wonder if the strength of the Psyker affects that number. Like could they subdue like two Alpha Psykers and be done for the day? And isn't being a Psyker at least partly genetic? Couldn't they just make heavily monitored Hive worlds with a predominantly Psyker population?

The problem with Psyker is they are unpredictable. Daemons love to use them to invade reality.
How do they find enough psykers each day?
Millions of planets.
the imperium is roughly a million worlds strong.
majority of them has populations that are in the billions
Psykers are uncommon but not exactly rare. plus the black ships are the second largest if not THE largest fleet in the imperium.
It´s not hard to maintain the quota.
The black ships are sent forth to acquire more psykers from every planet they can, to bring back to Terra.
And then the emperor either makes them into a 'real' psyker.
Or eats them.
We could probably shoulder 1000 a day with this world, considering how many babies Hollywood eats already.
Terra's population alone is about a quadrillion, if psykers are one in a million, there would be a billion of them
