I have one of those that was given to me. Had sat for years so i dumped old gas out put fresh in and thing fired right up. Only different between yours and mine is i dont have the compression release. Keep up the great videos.
What I do on the 026 mufflers is drill the two extra holes but then open them up to join up with the original hole. I do other work to the cylinder and muffler. Clean the ports up, port match etc and check squish and that makes for a strong running saw.
Iv had like 6 of these 026 at this point. My brother has at least 15 at all times in random states of repair they are a staple of just handy size stihl saws
Heck I’m around 50 or so but that number goes up and down depending on what I’ve sold vs taken in. 026 are great saws. 024 thru 084 and all in between. Nice work.
Nice man. That is A actual legit steal for A Stihl name brand chainsaw for sure. At the least amount of pricing costs. Are around cost of.,or close to around the price of the original exchangeable materials as direct bolt on.,or screw on parts. Or for gaskets and bearings well they have their own type of way to go on.,or in into place on any type of small engine needs.
I am sure you can get a broomstick or old car aerial to fashion a tripod. One hand on the belt saw and sander could cost you a finger or two. Brilliant videos, thanks.
You are makin me wana go n get my 026 outa retirement!
They are better than the new stuff on the shelf today.
The 026 Sthil is my all time favorite chainsaw I've owned & ran many different brands & sizes 😊
The Stihl 026 is the greatest saw ever made. Bravo!
I'd say a super-mini
Nice of you to join in the fun, T.C. being it's Sunday let's giver the full MUSTIE 1..

How about the zilla those are getting pricey
Do you have a kill switch I can look at for that saw?
Picked one complete last weekend . Dropped 20.00 in parts. its ready
nice job, do you have a link to those breather vents?
search "CPVNQMDG 5pcs Fuel Tank Vent Line for STIHL" on amazon
I own 30 chainsaws and still getting more haha

Really nice results, considering what you started with and the minimal budget 😂
I bought an 026 at a thrift store for $8.95 nothing wrong with it, ran perfect after cleaning new plug !
How many chainsaws does a guy need? A: All off then. The best bar oil in the industry I’ve found is called “Used 30 weight 1000”
haha, been there!!
This is a shining example of why I don't buy parts machines, it's next to impossible for me to not turn them into project machines.
Haha, that seems to happen all too often!
👌 nice macguyvering
Let’s see some video of that XC 700!
Those are worth around closer to like &100.00 that's even being used on those types of chainsaws.
Minty 👌
When it comes to saving a buck I'm with you.there's always room for more stuff just build another shed
could possibly be piston slap that poping noise
Great job saving a saw that would have been thrown away, just need some creative thinking to get it back in operation!!
I will not bow down to the modern numbering system. A 260/261/262 is still just a 026. Just miss the 044 too much.
She just needed a little sprucing up
I'll give you $30 for it.
I have 0 chainsaws
how many chainsaws?>>>>>>>>ALL OF THEM
