Reminds me of my first snowpony, mid 70's Arctic Cat Lynx with a single cylinder 300cc Rotax stuffed in courtesy of my old man. I believe he had to reclock the exhaust can, make custom engine mounts to get belt deflection close enough to not chew stuff...man I miss those days🤤
The old john deere sounds awesome but i have a question for you , i have a old 72 atric cat cheetha 399 i know nothing about it i put a mukini carb on it that sits at that stupied angle like you said and the first time i start it it takes right off runs great but when i shut it off and try starting it again 1 minute latter it is flooded . Does that sound like bad crank seals thanks
Now i lowered the carb and it starts and runs good with the minkini carb but when it idles after 15 to 20 seconds it floods out it runs good when i give it a little throttle is my needle set ro high
The brass float arm should be set to sit parallel with carb body when held upside down. If your carb(s) are vibrating or shaking alot at idle it can also flood out, dampen zip tie or bungee them to something. Or needle and seat could also just be worn
I have done wvery thing you said about swaping me tiltonsnn carb ti a munkuni carb it is a 399 kowosuki motor running a 300 main jet it starts good cold and sounds great but when i shut itcoff and try to restart it it floods instantly is that a bad needle and seat thanks
How bad is it flooding, just enough to not run, or like geysers of gas out the plug holes almost hydrolocking? If the first, will it fire with the throttle held open a bit? If so, smaller pilot jet
@@toocheaptosmoke it will fire a few times then flooded the plugs are wet then what size piolet jet would you recomend starting with the carb is off a 340 blizzerd and i dont know what size it is
no, the small pilot jet down inside the carb, they are sized around 20-50. Check out a mikuni diagram and you can see where it's located, you need a small screwdriver
I don't have time to watch this now, but I just wanted to say that I'm super f*ckin excited to watch it. Old school UA-cam. What UA-cam was made for.
i been riding my SS indy 94 . white with blue and pink detailing . its a beast. you would approve
im glad you posted i was worried you left youtube
Haha, naw still here. Should be doing my taxes instead of youtube videos though...
You are the best, entertaining, innovative, etc. You are much appreciated!
Groil - also an excellent wood stain and concrete sealer.👍
This thing is bad ass. I’m both a skidoo and John Deere fan. This is absolutely perfect

Probably not crank seals if it floods. put the front end up on a few pallets and see if it starts then
@@toocheaptosmoke you werecright as usual im putting a trundra boot on they drop the carb a couple inches cause they make a bend thanks
@@bobnewman9493 👍
gonna buy me some groil! XD
Team Arctic, on a Deere, with a Rotax in it. Lol, perfect. It's almost an AMC, all makes combined.
Lol, track and suspension is Polaris, tunnel extension is yamaha!
Tell us about that polaris charger in the beginning. My main vintage sled is a 73 charger 400. I have a video of it on my channel
That's another project firmly lodged in purgatory... Got it a while back, it's a 530 fan, needs drivers, and some motivation.
@toocheaptosmoke nice I used to have a 530 polaris custom...was a beast

Bit of a shame the snow washed off a lot of speed dust...
@@toocheaptosmokeOui oui, Sacrilege
You mean 130 piolit jet there is a 150 on it now i took a bunch apart and the smallest i found is a 135
