Thank you for putting this well-informed and polished video project together. PCB scoring is very fascinating and, in general, it's nice having a limelight put on Touhou's gameplay scene, esp. regarding its communal achievement histories.

Really well made video! Was super interesting to see how strats developed over time.
I just want to say, ASAPIN was one of the early WR holders for Touhou games, but he didn't just drop off the face off the Earth once he stopped that. ASAPIN went on to devote a lot of time to playing Japanese mahjong and is currently playing in the pro-league in Japan. He was the first person to reach the rank of "tenhou" on the widest-played online Japanese mahjong platform, and the he did it again for fun becoming the 11th person to reach it.

ASAPIN is just a great gamer all around and it's always super cool to go back and see him demolish touhou games when he was only about 15 years old.

Haven't finished the video yet but, heck, I wasn't expecting this shonen anime vibes on the hi-score records history of a 18 years old game.
Just finished watching it and yeah really got to give Asprey props in keeping the commentary engaging. Really appreciate the detailed descriptions of each spell card and technique, as well as personal insights on what could had been going through the mind of the player. Great video overall.

I would love to see LoLK world record history, I only know that in LoLK the player either abused Reisen's fat hitbox with her bomb or Sanae's long duration bomb invisibility to get a lot of graze for the scores

Do you mind if I give some (hopefully) constructive feedback? I think that this video has some points that are kinda dull, and this is speaking as someone who really likes TouHou and has played a decent amount of PCB (as well as the other games). You mentioned that you were inspired by Summoning Salt's videos, and one thing which I think that they do really well is manage to make them fun and engaging even if you haven't played the game that they're talking about by adding in more elements of narrative storytelling. Your video was incredibly thorough and well-written and I hope that you make more of this style, but it'd be even better if it was more entertaining and accessible to people who aren't already hardcore-fan.

I was played Touhou Lost words for the story, apparently there's yuyuko's perfect cherry blossom incidents/story, I kinda interested with the story, it took me a while to find the full story on browser until u upload these, boi im really enjoying this whole video

This is the game I first 1cc and the only one I beat the extra stage!
Considering that, as a newbie, it took me some hair pulling to even 1cc on easy this just seems insane to me.

edit: also cool bug fact: DRC (dodging rain competition) uses a fictional world record (3.6 billion) for lunatic sakuya B in this game
Yusuke actually competed in a DRC and beat the fictional benchmark score, he was confused when that run still ended up being worth 500 DRC points
