How Old Is Too Old or Too Young To Show Interest In An NPHC Organization? | Shea Miller

- What's up SQUAAAAD? Hope all is well with all of you! Today's video is about age when it comes to joining an NPHC organization. Some people will say there is a cap for going undergrad which can kind of be a bummer for those more "non-traditional" students hoping to have that same experience but this should kind of break this subject down and help you understand what you're up against no matter which side of this topic you're on personally.

Crossed undergrad at 40! I love my AKA!
This inspired me!!
You should post a video discussing your experience at age 40. 🙌🏽
Inspiration!!!!!
@@bodiedbycarlallc3478 Seriously thinking about it!
inspiring fr ‼️🖤
Never too old!! One of my LSs is 75 and we LOVEEEEE her!! She’s everything. She be WORKINGGGGGG for Alpha Kappa Alpha!! It’s in her heart and we are so honored to be her LSs. She’s our MatriarK 💕💚
Seeeeee, they be looking out for real lol.
I’m 34 and I really want to be a AKA
What school did you attend?
@@ashleypatterson8662 hey darling! Discretion is key!! You might want to delete this comment. Your interest should remain something you keep to yourself until or if the opportunity presents itself. Best of luck in your journey!
I been thinking of going back to college and pledging AKA I read a lot on the sorority over the years
Never too old, I recently crossed, Zeta Phi Beta Spring 19 at the age of 34. 🙂

985chanel You coming to Centennial??
Another great video! I’m 44 and just became a member of Zeta Phi Beta this past spring. I’ve always had members of all the orgs tell me, “it’s never too late.” Once you’ve graduated, pursue grad if that’s what’s in your heart.
Congratulations!!!!
Shea Miller thank you! ☺️
The part about 'commuter college" is right on the nose. I am 29 and a transfer from a local community college and my experience with the greeks has been very receptive.
I became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha at the age of 36
I’m 32 I thought I would be to old to pledge! This made me smile.
Omg I swear this was in my head often. I'm glad you made clarification and I agree it's never too old
Everyone’s stories here in the comment section inspires me! Thanks everyone! 👍🏼
Thank you for the information. I'm interested in checking out some organizations I'm 58 and just earned my Associates degree.
This really helped me!
thank you for this. i was thinking about this and i wanted to known if i was to old to join because i would be about 25 or 26 when i get the chance to interest.
Jaquitta Ashley that’s actually still considered fairly and even so there isn’t a age limit
@@JazzyJazzy819 thanks it's just nice to know that it wouldn't be completely of the table because of my age. I tend to over think things sometimes.
@@jaquittaashley2461 me too I’m 24 which is young but I’m thinking everybody is a little under me
This has been on my mind alot!!! Lol i think if i pledge, i will be around 23 - 24, i dont think thats too bad, but i expect to be an older LS but like you said, depends on the chapter!
Not bad to me either tbh. I personally don’t think age has anything to do with what a person can or will do for the organization. That’s what’s really important.
I am a second semester college student with 22 credit hours and they require 24 to 36 will I still be able to Join?
And Another great 1!
Thank you! 💚
What if your school allows you to participate in Greek life your freshman year second semester as long as you meet the university requirements, can you still show interest your first semester so that when the interest meetings start happening, they will know that your interested?
K My yes
Hey, I am wanting to pledge but I have a child do you think in your opinion it's possible?
Yep, parents pledge all the time. As long as you can make the time for it.
I'm interested but I was told I was too old at 36. It's been a dream of mine to join. 😔
You are never too old. As you see in the comments, someone joined at 75 years old.
