It snowballed and from 18-21 I was addicted to Methamphetamine until, by sheer dumb luck, everything in my life fell apart. I was forced to rebuild the foundation of my mind. I love that this guy is open about his experience in overcoming that greater evil... A lot of people think they're stuck permanently, but that's a f*cking mindset. I could probably write a book about how the shitty things in my life, became my greatest lessons and those lessons transformed the way I now handle depression, anxiety, laziness and how powerful the body actually is in repairing psychic and physical damage. Love this shit.
I was addicted to heroin for 3-4 years. I’ve tried meth before, along with a bunch of other things. I’ve been clean for less then a year. The fact that this guy could say he’s been clean for 5 years, and that he’s still an infant to recovery, is so respectful and true. You can be clean for 10 years and still be an infant to recovery, cause you can relapse at any time. So happy this guy is clean!
"spirituality is prioritizing the human spirit and soul over materialistic and physical things." This is actually really cool that's legitimately the definition.
@@upshiftgo I just find it cool because the terms spirit and soul (more so spirit) can be used loosely to describe the human condition. So in a way being spiritual is basically being anti materialistic.
The physical world is spiritual, there is nothing but the spirit. Spirituality is the development of a deeper connection to your essence, your soul which is the generator of your thoughts, emotions and will.
I did Coke for 2 years and then couldn't afford it so I went to my Dr and I was prescribed Adderall and then dextroamphetamine.... Once that wasn't enough I tried meth and was hooked instantly! I was addicted for 3 years constantly snorting meth and taking xanax to actually sleep but I've been sober for a little over a year and it's amazing
Joe rogaine Xanax withdrawal was horrible, it was worse than alcohol withdrawal for me. I would wake up with cold sweats, then I started having hallucinations and couldn't sleep because my whole body was in pain and constantly thinking someone was there and mind you meth psychosis wasn't helping either with the whole situation. After about 3-4 days I couldn't take it and told my parents about it and went to the hospital which I'm greatful I did because I started having seizures within an hour of getting to the hospital.Meth withdrawal is very mental not so much physical... It was the hardest drug too stop for me! I would constantly sit there and cry for what I've put my family through, it was very emotional once I stopped snorting it. I still hear voices in my head about meth, I constantly think someone is there talking bad about me and sometimes I hear positive thoughts but not very much.
Brent Nicol i salute you dude, that sounds god awful. Im an ex heroin addict and went through some terrible withdrawals as well. The worst part about our addictions is that even a few years after getting clean - we still feel empty in some way, right? I hope the drugs we did in the past arent a permanent set back for our future. The world seems so dark and scary without our drugs of choice. Best of luck to you man, thanks for sharing your story
U and i are very lucky to be alive my friend. Xanax bout killed me. I was locked up for hitting a parked car, driving with no license, only five days.... While in there i had a seizure. They only gave me an immodium, and half an ibuprofen. I was scared to death i wasnt gonna make it. It was an outta body experience. I wouldn't wish what i went thru on my worst enemy. I felt like i was gonna explode. I was hearing stuff, seeing stuff, could barely walk. I didnt sleep for 8 days except maybe 2 hours, in maybe 12 minute sperts. I am so glad i quit taking them. Some doctors just give u what they can to get u outta their hair. I had major issues, but giving me benzos was one of the worst things i ever have been given. I think theyre the devil, and should be taken completely off the map. There are many other things that can be helpful. Sending u lots of love💙❤
My ex ruined our relationship with meth. He won't get help, but expects me to stick around. When he's high, hes extremely abusive and scares me. :( I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
YummyPinkLemonade that is a tough situation. If he is addicted to meth and he is abusive then he definitely not the right guy for you. If he really is a good guy but meth is ruining him then I would get help from friends and family and get him to a detox center. If he just isn't a good guy and does meth than leave him or call the cops if you can't
i was in a similar situation in 2011 for a few years then he would show up unannounced once a yr thereafter till end of 2017. it took me that long to figure out he had no interest in getting clean. last time in jail was recently (he did 3 mths)he wrote from jail and the letters are still unopened. If possible have a restraining order served and cut all ties!
Phil; I have never done meth...not really an addictive personality. I occasionally drink- no pot, cocaine nothing. But I can tell you this: You are a very highly intelligent person who seems to have the word order in your brain functionally better than most. I talk slow, and have issues with my words- so it's nice to see how sharp you are. Keep the faith and get the message out!
I have a weird addiction: I'm addicted to hearing about and seeing hard core drug use. I'm not kidding. It started when I was 15. They showed me The Dark End of the Street, an old HBO doc about black tar heroin addicts in San Francisco in the 90s. I remember for the rest of that day I felt very strange. I was too young to understand the feelings back then, but now I think they were a mixture of sandness, compassion, morbid fascination, and schadenfreude. I've watched tons of documentaries about drug use since then. I can't get enough. I've seen all of CG Kid's UA-cam videos. I'm 34 now. I've never done hard drugs, thank God, but I did have a fairly strong weed addiction in my early 20s. After all these years I've learned that we're all addicted to something. And many of our addictions are deadly and we don't realize it. For example, I know some people that are addicted to salt. They over salt their food. Well, that can kill you. Too much salt will fuck up your body. We all gravitate towards addictions because we all have complexes and spiritual voids , even if we don't realize it.
I love this breakdown of your thoughts. Your curiosity as an adolescent makes sense to me because at that age in your life, you’re trying to gather an identity and attempting to experience a range of emotions and life choices. This allows you to gain perspective. It’s pretty common to hear about multiple identity shifts as a teen, “it’s not a phase mom” is a frequently used cultural phrase. I like how you step back and reflect on the true meaning of an addiction as well. However I think you lose distinction and overall meaning when you contribute “complexes and spiritual voids” as the main cause of addictions. Consider the chemical reason why someone is addicted to salt. Scientific literature agrees that sodium is chemically addictive, people do not consume excessive amounts of salt due to a lack of spirituality. Additionally, if you are raised in a household where indulgence is demonstrated by your parents, you’re going to indulge similarly without any seconds thoughts unless you are cognizant/mature enough to recognize. I think spirituality (not organized religion) has its merits, but by accepting the statement: ‘addictions are caused by a lack of spirituality’ is to ignore the genuine issue. Addicts become addicts due to a large of web of intertwined reasons; poverty and its effects on the community, over prescribed opiates, lack of drug literacy and general education, etc. To say an addict is an addict because they are not spiritual is to say that their addiction is of entirely their own fault.
I love Philip. I've been subscribed to his channel for a while now. I'm happy he's getting recognition for all the work he does. TV, interviews, his website.. keep up the good work
Wow! As a parent of a addict this was so resourceful. We have been the rehab route and had this battle for more than 10 years and we don’t know what to do or where to turn for our lives to get back to normal even if our son doesn’t want to be sober. Thank you
Jordan Dowler true. Same. Idk I’ll probably never do LSD and it makes sense he never did it kind of. LSD with certain people can alter their mind and turn them into a different person it’s a fucked drug in that aspect. That’s why I’ll never do it, despite all the stories I’ve heard from friends saying it’s the best thing they’ve ever done and they have a life changing moment in a good way. Idk it’s crazy. Can’t risk it.
w/Mason .Forgey lol. You’ve never done it but you’re pretty adamant on how it can fuck you! Makes sense. LSD’s toxicity levels are so much lower than any other shit you probably do
Shrooms Seems like a better option But idk man I don’t really like acid cause I feel like it’s not different enough everything is visual but there’s no loss of control like all the other drugs I seem to like I guess Being completely conscious in a different realm is kinda worse for me cause I usually have anxiety anyways Everything that kinda takes your control away makes my anxiety kinda go away
Some people don't like to trip. I've done a lot of drugs. I don't like thinking about leaving reality. Idk i just know my brain enough to know I shouldn't trip
That is true. By anything I of course meant any drug. But it's also true for other dopamine-stimulating activities like sex and gambling etc. BUT different people can still have very different tendencies to becoming addicted to something.
Im also a ex smoker. So I undastand and totally agree with you about the stimulation of darkness. It was one of the darkest times of my life. The whole world looked different. I hated the day time, hated the light. Paranoid about everything, taken advantage of bcs i cudnt handle it. Stared out a window for 2 days and nights str8 waiting for pple to reveal themselves out of bushes. Thinking theyd give up and finally come out. I was a tragic mess. And you know its demonic. It’s so interesting how he mentioned the genetic part. Drugs affect us all differently. I’ve done meth a few times and i either got emotional as shit or blacked out. There’s people who get hooked on the first try. I am beyond blessed and protected by God this didn’t happen to me. I was barely 16 at that time. I’m 17 now, but we learn from our mistakes. I could probably write a book about how the shitty things in my life, became my greatest lessons and those lessons transformed the way I now handle depression, anxiety, laziness and how powerful the body actually is in repairing psychic and physical damage.
Love this shit.
Maybe you should do that
hope you're doing well man :)
CG KID!!!!! Love you bro, you're helping me turn my life around this last year
Hardship makes you grow, mature. This guy is a testiment to that. I salute him for what he's been able to go through.
I hope CG kid is doing ok. He deleted literally EVERYTHING (UA-cam, IG, Twitter). Please dude, be okay.
He’s doing well. He posted something a few weeks ago on Reddit about why he deleted all his socials.
He's got a job, he's in school, he's got a wife and they're trying for a kid and they just moved into a nice neighborhood with three pets :)
A poly drug user that has never tried lsd? That is honestly shocking.
Paul Hofreiter seriously bro like dude tried meth and heroin over lsd???
cbreezy Yeah that’s insane.
Yeah, that surprised me. He'll do meth, but stay away from LSD.
@@maybetomorrownewmaker
LSD had the potential to help you overcome your addictions.
Paul Hofreiter lsd can cause schizophrenia in people who are predisposed to it. That’s what my cousin linny told me he does crack down by the Walmart
So hyped to see this collab, watched heaps of the Cg kid and heaps of you too Andrew! This is great
Its wierd seeing cg kid being interviewed, he usually does the interviewing
Glad you got CG Kid on this, we really need to spread awareness about drug education
"spirituality is prioritizing the human spirit and soul over materialistic and physical things."
This is actually really cool that's legitimately the definition.
Been subscribed to him for awhile! His videos are so interesting !
Same, glad he might get a bit more recognition because of this
I did Coke for 2 years and then couldn't afford it so I went to my Dr and I was prescribed Adderall and then dextroamphetamine.... Once that wasn't enough I tried meth and was hooked instantly! I was addicted for 3 years constantly snorting meth and taking xanax to actually sleep but I've been sober for a little over a year and it's amazing
Brent Nicol how bad was withdrawal? Good job dude
If he just isn't a good guy and does meth than leave him or call the cops if you can't
i was in a similar situation in 2011 for a few years then he would show up unannounced once a yr thereafter till end of 2017. it took me that long to figure out he had no interest
in getting clean. last time in jail was recently (he did 3 mths)he wrote from jail and the letters are still unopened. If possible have a restraining order served and cut all ties!
You are a moron and deserve him
Dude Love the fuck is wrong with you
Dude Love for wanting to support someone?
Phil; I have never done meth...not really an addictive personality. I occasionally drink- no pot, cocaine nothing. But I can tell you this: You are a very highly intelligent person who seems to have the word order in your brain functionally better than most. I talk slow, and have issues with my words- so it's nice to see how sharp you are. Keep the faith and get the message out!
Cross Pollination I don’t think you needed that semi colon
William Kirkland William but the colon was on point:)
he said he was only addicted for one year
The collab we’ve been waiting for
What happened to this guy ?,is his channel gone forever?
His old channel is gone, yes. But he is married now and he has a new channel where he talks about fragrances, it's called CG Scents
@@Sleezy.Designwow that’s wonderful. That makes me really happy. I was worried about him. Glad he is doing good
Every word about his experience is so precious.
To say an addict is an addict because they are not spiritual is to say that their addiction is of entirely their own fault.
cg kid: *says a badass speech about spirituality*
interviewer: nice, so youve been meditating
idk why but that gave me a chuckle

Wow! As a parent of a addict this was so resourceful. We have been the rehab route and had this battle for more than 10 years and we don’t know what to do or where to turn for our lives to get back to normal even if our son doesn’t want to be sober. Thank you

hmm, every drug besides LSD I find that very interesting. Everyone I know, that's usually the second thing they try right after weed
LSD’s toxicity levels are so much lower than any other shit you probably do
Shrooms are way better
Shrooms
Seems like a better option
But idk man I don’t really like acid cause I feel like it’s not different enough everything is visual but there’s no loss of control like all the other drugs I seem to like I guess
Being completely conscious in a different realm is kinda worse for me cause I usually have anxiety anyways
Everything that kinda takes your control away makes my anxiety kinda go away
Some people don't like to trip. I've done a lot of drugs. I don't like thinking about leaving reality. Idk i just know my brain enough to know I shouldn't trip
"i can get addicted to anything so i tried every single drug i could"
i assume he realized that after the fact lol
Makes it sound like a super power
All people can get addicted to anything
tubewoodycool that’s not true
U cn see and sense it around and in you. Now im on a path of finding myself and my purpose for life. And my hope is in jesus christ. Filling that emptiness you talk of. Youd also b a gr8 testimony to others. Especially those who knew you.
Never touched ice, but things did get pretty dark just staying up for days off addy. Im just lucky no one i knew had meth
Thank you for sharing your story. Big hugs and love to you. I try to quit some addictions myself and I found Gabor Mate that makes most sense to me at the moment. You can find him on UA-cam. He wrote a few books too, I wish this to help you as well.
Definitely something evil man I'm glad I stopped fucking with glass never smoked it tho I heard it was wayyy different but i got stuck on snorting that shit funny how I said my first time I'm do a key shot and that same day I ended up doing about 6 lines and kept doing it after that

StickyE No he isn't.
No Name Yeah you must know more than me. I only have years of experience of people doing in right in front of me and others trying to hide it. Just being brutally honest, I have nothing against the guy.
StickyE he’s not on amphetamines still. He’s very dedicated to his sobriety and to educating others about addiction and about how to get sober and stay sober. It’s something he’s very passionate about, that’s why he’s able to talk on and on about it. He has his own channel and website dedicated to this. When you are passionate about something it’s easy to talk about it for a long time.
@Cg Kid *Andrew paid you for this interview?*
*Despite popular **_beliefs_** regarding hair substance tests, you can result negative after 90days for meth. Also, you can send a strand of hair that's not yours or stall until enough time has passed for you to test negative or not send it at all. Apart from that you know most wont agree to your offer.*

its incredible how well-spoken and thought-out he is considering how many drugs he's done
Why is it incredible? Why would he not be able to speak? If anything drugs cause introspection that enhances creative thought and speech.

Been clean of meth for 3 years. Was a crazy ride of messing with the wrong people, idolising the wrong people who sold it to you, a sad story where you win and don’t win and end up crying in the shower trapped in a battle you rarely win.
