My mum is from Enniscorthy. I sing this for her every year and she cries. We may leave our homeland but i suspect our homeland never leaves our hearts. Genii loci. Blessed Christmas and peace to all.

I've listened to this all week and I love it. The lead vocals are so sharp clear and precise , it's rare to hear such singing. And the music is spot on. Alison Krause ain't got nothing on you girls. Loved it loved it.

I've loved this carol for years; I think I first heard it by The Voice Squad, which has remained my favourite, probably because I sing mostly unaccompanied. Having listened to various other versions this morning, I think that I have a new favourite! In this key, it's great on the fiddle, with lots of scope for harmonies. Merry Christmas.
