Zendaya is a beauty 😍 my little guy is missing feathers on his head 😭 I can’t wait until they grow back! he got into fights with the other birds so they had to put him in his own cage. When I got to the pet store they had him right next to a bearded dragon tank! The bearded dragon attacked the glass where my little guys cage was and scared him really bad. He’s a scared little guy but he seems curious and content where he is now. I hear him grinding his beak sometimes or slow blinking. It’s so cute 😂😂
Here’s my situation: I adopted a reproductive couple from a home breeder. They are quite literally wild and scream and fly at the far end of their cage, breathe heavily the second I come close and heaven forbid opening the cage🤦🏼♀️ I’ve had them for a short time now but I got them for reproduction and I really need to get them comfortable in my home if I want them to have eggs. I tried opening the cage twice (once because they seemed comfortable even for it [I was definitely wrong, they started bumping in every window possible], and the second time to put a new nest in… bit nicer but still traumatizing). Now I know it takes time but I also know every bird is different and I want to know if it’s worth it or not. I never handled birds so stressed and literally screaming in fear and I don’t know if it’s worth it to wait or if it will take a year or even more to even get them used to be walking in front of the cage. I’m sorry if it wasn’t clear enough, I hope you can help

Due to our living conditions, in order ro train our birds without getting hurt or flying away, we need to clip its wings. Its not harmful and my lovebird is happy, always singing and always playing. He goes in and out of his cage like nothing. After seeing our lovebird, my friend decided to get one as well because she needed a companion. Her bird however, is super scared and timid. She doesn’t sing around humans and even after letting her adjust for over a week, bo signs of improvement. I am going to try these methods, and see if they work. Thank you so much!!
@@michaelwatson5722 a lot of the time if you don’t clip the birds wings they will fly and crash. Clipping their wings does not hurt them if done correctly and it keeps them from getting into a bad injury. Would you rather your bird die a bad death or clip their wings to prevent it? My lovebird's mate died not long ago and since then he won't interact with me at all. I got them 6 months ago from a pet store. Hello nice video! I just wanted to ask what I should do if my bird tries to bite me when i slowly put my hands into her cage. She bit me once and it hurt a lot so I'm really trying to train her without getting bit.
Hand in the cage method works when bird is new into your home. Usually this works only in the first week. But lovebirds are extremely territorial, after time her cage will be her territory and she will consider your hand as an intruder and will try to defend her territory. Try to interact with her outside of her house, put some seeds in your hand and don’t move your hand so the bird can approach you and feel safe. After time she will get used to your hand, it requires a lot of passion. Just have patience and you’ll be fine. Best of luck!
