Little tip for more subscribers pal..some on course testing with different clubs..shafts and i think youd blow up personally..24k is criminal your a great channel
Thanks bud appreciate the comment and I do agree. Unfortunately this won’t happen for a while as I just don’t have time to get out on the course and film yet. And if I were going to do on course filming I also need a videographer / camera person too otherwise I think the quality would be crap as I don’t really know what in doing 😂 so the cost would go up significantly too, which we can’t justify at the moment. So it’s very tough and we can only really do our best and fit in what we can at the moment. But hopefully we can do some bits next year 👍
@@epgolfstudios yeh great point about the filming costs we all take that for granted...id love see more lesson type vids aswell as your swing is majestic....i may be wrong bit just giving you ideas what id like to see as i enjoy watching your videos..hence why i have 3 sets of clubs now 🤣
Yeah I'd say people take A LOT for granted nowadays with UA-cam content, as the general quality standard is so high. But for small channels like us who aren't really making much money from it, it just comes down to a lot of time and effort and doing everything ourselves to the best of our ability, and a lot goes into it. Which is why it's hard not to get shitty at people moaning sometimes 😂 and I'm not including you in that by the way so don't worry 😂 and I would say my swing might look great but fundamentally it's not brilliant so my consistency isn't good. Good thing with UA-cam you can take a lot out! But really my handicap would be like 6-10 id say. Somewhere in that region. So yeah maybe some lesson stuff soon....me getting some lessons!!
@@epgolfstudios wow..6 to 10 thats interesting..problem with players with your speed the slightest offline and your dead on some holes! Anyway keep up great work youll always get bell end know it alls thats life just gotta ignore it
@@mufc778 yeah exactly right. But tbf I'm normally ok long game and iron play. I lose an incredible amount of shots 100 yards and in especially chipping and putting. But i literally never do it anymore so what can you expect.
Really great video, and i loved how in-depth it was. Really nice to see this level from someone not as well known. Will definitely be watching more content. If you have chance to i think on course testing is a great way to showcase the importance of the dispersion aspect that a shaft contributes too, i know its not the easiest but deffo something to try.
Great video thankyou , I've been experimenting for 18 months with different shafts in my earojet ls ! I've tried Kaili blue stiff, and white , motore x in regular , av blue in stiff and regular also! But my best results for distance and ease of use ( swinging within myself and finding fairways dispersion has been the ust linq red in seniour flex it just works for me long baby fades and has added 15 yards of carry ! We don't have a fitting centre nearby so it's been trial and error . Thanks Ian Northwales.
Hi Ian, thanks for the comment. And yes absolutely if you’re not fortunate enough to have a fitting centre locally then that’s all you can do really. Have a bit of fun, experiment with lots of different things, lots of testing and then just play what works best, forget the theory and what you “should be playing” it’s all about playing your best golf 🙌
I love the complete honesty. Feel, dispersion and consistency are the primary factors. Now, what was the data set like, with all the bad shots included?
Thanks 🙏 and God knows, it would have been all over the shop as my driving was shocking when I filmed this. Wouldn't have been able to use it to any comparable standard. In my opinion the bad swings have nothing to do with club or shaft so it's a bit pointless looking at them.
Great video yet again Ross. Need to get some collaborations to get your subscriber numbers up as 24k for this level of content is far too low. You really are very good at this 👏
Thanks man appreciate that 👍 yeah we will be trying for collabs next year hopefully. Again been tough as I'm in the studio about 80 hours per week so not much time to get out and about unfortunately
Great video! I love this channel and I'm in awe of your swing! I'm my opinion, yours is the best of this type on UA-cam. One question for you - What's your opinion of Puring shafts for average golfers? There's one guy on UA-cam who seems on a mission to trash it as snake oil, but little else out there in terms of genuine comparisons. I'd love to see you do an in depth test on it. 👍
Thanks Phil, appreciate that! My opinion for an average golfer is I don't think it will make any difference. In fact I'm pretty certain it won't. I get theory and I'm sure it does what it says it does but when you put that in the hand of an inconsistent average golfer do I personally believe it helps? No. But I was planning on doing a video on that though 👍
Love this non biased content and information. Really quite interesting how sutle the differences are...yet it was clear to you what your preference was, which was supported by data. #goldylocks
Thanks Simon, and I am definitely not a robot 😂 it's easy when you can edit out the bad ones 😉😎 and yes it would so I may well do something like that 👍
I agree you need to test I have a 3w shaft in stiff and and a senior flex in the driver both flight differently and there’s not a great deal of yardage between them.
I did a best Game Improvement iron video not that long ago 👌 imo most of them won't be that difficult in distance as long as they are a similar loft and dispersion is 95% down to the player.
Like these vids to break the stereotypes of labels and I get why ventus was chosen being one of the most popular shafts at the same time fujikura classify them against each other so if they were ranked amongst their other shafts or everyone else they’d be all low/low shafts. Maybe mca accra have better examples as i do agree overall
Hi Ross. Great video once again debunking some of the marketing bs. Would you say the same is true with irons- i.e the head affects the spin, flight etc far more than the shaft does or is there more to it with irons?
Another great video as always! Just curious, if you have any recommendations for a similar shaft to the new ventus black 6x for my 3 wood? I absolutely love the shaft and have it in my driver but was hoping to find something similar for my 3 wood as it’s hard to justify the cost for a club a don’t use very often. Thanks 😊
Hi Ross, 3 very similar shafts. I wonder if more differences would show up between them if done with less flex? Maybe a second video with all 3 in reg flex?? (even though it may not be the ideal flex for you) Cheers mate
Well if you watched the blind flex test I did not so long ago it turned out that regular actually was the best for me! But yeah if I did this again but did them all in regular instead of X then you'd just get the same outcome mate
@ yeah I did watch that Ross and noticed that reg was best for you. But you are still testing here (and playing?) with X flex, so hence my question. And as much as anything, it’s a suggestion for extra content for you mate 😅 Perhaps with the 3 shafts in reg flex, and maybe 9 degrees loft instead of 8, any differences between the 3 shafts might end up being more pronounced? But you would know better than me, so if you say it won’t, fair enough. Cheers
@cameronloveless1751 well I don't really play anymore tbh bud, played about 3/4 times this year. Only test in X to stop all the stupid comments 😂 yeah absolutely I appreciate that. Possibly down the line maybe once I haven't done one in a while, but yeah the end result would be very similar to this.
Ventus Red is a bit of an outlier for a "red" profile shaft because of the ultra stiff handle. It's supposed to be higher launch and spin, but I didn't find that personally. I just don't get along with really stiff handle sections.
What would you like to hear? I do touch in depth on the bend profiles of the shafts and playing flex and what they are designed to do. Don’t think there’s much more that I can cover tbh
Thanks Michael. In all honesty it would be a pointless video if I used an average golfer. Even I'm barely good enough to do comparison testing. If you did a fitting video it's a very different story. I can use any level golfer and see what suits them best but that isn't any way a good or fair comparison of how the shafts perform. These videos are all about taking the human element out of it to see how they actually compare over a fair data set. I would use a robot if I could afford one 😂 the reality and club or shaft will perform badly on a bad swing so always hard to say what is swing and what is club/shaft
No shafts really perform that differently in terms of launch and spin characteristics. It's just about giving you the best chance of finding the middle and squaring the face.
@@epgolfstudios You tested the whole "velocore makes bad shots straighter" marketing? Put a cheaper shaft in and it does worse dispersion wise strike for strike when not middled?
Absolutely no chance in hell a humans ever testing that I'm afraid 😂 far too many variables to consistently control. You'd have to use a robot. But it would be interesting to see....
Heres one for you... The tour AD shaft, stiff, which has a great reputation, I find creates a pull hook, with the same swing that doesn't happen with the ventus blue 6 stiff? Thoughts?
