Wish Aaron the best in recovery. I love mountain biking - just bought a new Bronson. After breaking ribs, and injuring my knee last year, no more extremes. Luckily I have fully recovered. Now....with full protective gear, I'm just happy to be out there - riding my new bike on the trails.
Always something!! He's had so many flawless seasons total bummer he got snagged on that rock section - really looking forward to seeing how Gwin will run his new season and more over his awesome Bike Park at Windrock - planning a trip down soon once the rains subside!! GwinRock!!
What a story. Thanks so much for sharing all that detail. I have two bad shoulders from years of motocross and biking mishaps. I have been hesitant to have the surgeries because of horror stories of no real improvement and more pain. I keep telling my wife who has to help me take jackets and jerseys off that is just a matter of time that I will have a bad enough crash that I have to do something! At 69, I am not focusing on world cups. Just want to keep riding as long as I can... Best of luck Aaron.
Active Release Technique, dry-needling, and yoga may be of interest. ART, including Graston, could help remove adhesions that limit range of motion. Dry-needling 'helped my shoulder realize' that raising my arm was not riaking durther injury. Yoga has worked my rotator cuffs' musculature progressively strengthen from essentially all angles, and in a balanced way. Wishing you range of motion and strength at all angles.
@@William.Driscoll good info Stank. I am recovering from shoulder destruction and 8 months in not back to normal. I did not get surgery. I will check out the ART and going to try acupuncture. Aslo, my wife is a yoga teacher so no excuse not to include this.
Looking at the replay, the front tire grabbed on the rock on the right going through that narrow gap. That caused the rear end to skip out a bit and caused him to lose his bike/body balance in a really bad section
Had the same one - broken elbow. Surgery 4-6h. Mine broken to multiple pieces they had to put it together- plate and 8 screws. yeah the healing process due to surgeons to deal with ligaments as well is long - yeah 1 year plus to get it back.
I`m not sure where you got the X-Rays from - but the second one ist from a Child showing an ankle ;-) Get well soon Aaron! Severe Elbow injuries have a complication rate of 70% - So I hope you will be lucky and be back on the bike asap and as strong as ever 💪🏻
I always though it was crazy he made it so long without seriuos injury until these past few years he was lucky one the only told riders without a sline injury .. if u think about its insane ..Amuerry broke his back and neck 3 times ..bolth his brother's neck and back broke ..brook Mcdonald..Greg minnar ..all these peoplebhave had major spine surgery..and the list of top 20 riders with spine injury is insane .....it got alil ridiculous that u gotta be willing to break ur neck or back to be at the top ..
I was thinking about Sam Blenkinsop in this aspect. He has a longer career than Gwin and I don't remember him ever being injured, I don't even remember any crash.
so sry mr Aaron... i'm not a hard rider so i may be talking stupid things but i've caught myself losing interest in the sport bit by bit and one of the factors is, to me, it seems the organizers put riders thru unnecessary risks, sometimes for show but sometimes just pure laziness. i understand it's a complex issue but that's how i feel..
Not even in the air. I’d be so pissed getting hurt in a rock garden. For me the bike is all about air. Start out with rock gardens that have the moment of holy shit I’ve been missing out on big airs all this time. None of my worst crashes have been jumping. Knock on wood. Sorry bout injury.
Leisure rides on the gnrliest lines are ok. But when it’s a race the risk level goes up 😂 exponentially.😅 but then again, with much practice on the same line over and over again one becomes a pro, eventually. Only for pros! Lol😂
📿🙏🙏🙏 keep it up for the PT idol to come back good for MTB be careful a little boss next time They need to move out take off that rock or else it end up all riders to get injured that trust me believe me no go too risky
Like would have like only been like a like 10 minute like video if he like didn't like say like so much. Notice how stupid it is when you actually write this poor language down, like.
Thank`s for the upload, hope that Gwin will come back strong in 2024 !

“Sometimes all the worst possible things line up” Ik that feeling!
I like these anatomy of a crash. Man that was a brutal one, glad he’s ok.
You got this Aaron!

I read the title wrong, I thought he crashed again! whew!
haha!
Ouch
godspeed brother!!!
Hoping you get back at it. Injury sucks. Worst of all is the missed time on the bike. Let it heal and then kick ass. 👍👍
He hit a big root or rock on his left just after he cleared that needle hole he's describing. It knocks him to the right and off line...
WC DH sucks without Aaron Gwin. He's such a phenomenal human. Sending huge good wishes to him.

Deus é contigo jovem que brilha!.🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
what an unlucky crash ......best of luck to aaron for a positive comeback
What a struggle he has been through! Hopefully 2024 will treat him better!
He’s really good on the commentary team…just saying
How much would treatment cost if you didn't have a great sponsor & insurance? BEST OF LUCK WITH CONTINUED THERAPY!
So sorry this happened and so look forward to AG's 2024 season. Lost count of the use of the word "like" 😮.
Stepped off in a big way!!!
He had shoulder replacement before?
Career ending injury that 😔
Where do I get that shirt , Spomer!!!!!!!
...and got all kinds of negative when I climb The Everest?
Yup, blasting down a rock strewn trail at full speed on a bicycle lends itself to getting injured.

Crazy they ride through rocks going 20 + mph pretty much naked.
Just don't get it.
That was his Swiss Cheese moment.

Knocking on wood won't help you mate. You will eventually pay the Grim Reaper, just like the rest of us!

You should have seen an OT/Hand Therapist instead of a PT!
ah, I see the problem... his bike still had its chain on it.
Dreadful..brave man!
