Kate, when it comes to learning any new skill, it is tough at first. The thing that matters the most is learning consistently and making small improvements daily. With this approach we are always better than we were a day ago. I am learning Russian and it is so tough lol but it is so much fun and opens so many new prospects in life for me
Inner motivation is the key to all learning. I am Danish, so not a native learner myself. TV and radio in a foreign language are a good way to pick up some phrases, words, pronunciations, in my opinion.
Kate, your determination and hard work definitely pay off, imagine that just 2 years ago you couldn't talk at all, you knew few words, and now you're making videos in which you're speaking only English. Looking back and comparing the starting point and the current level helps to get motivated. Just to show you how differently 2 years of studying can be, I've been learning German for 2 years, but in a veeeery lazy way, giving it up for half a year, then coming back to studying it again for a month, giving up again, and what do I have now? Almost the same level as 2 years ago. So looking at you and your progress, I realize that consistency is the key! Your example pushes me to study German better and harder now, thank you!
