- This is Voronezh! Voronezh is located in western Russia. It was founded in 1586 as a fortress, Peter the Great built his naval flotilla there for use in his campaigns against the Turkish fortress of Azov. With the intensive agricultural development of the forest-steppe, Voronezh became a major centre for the grain trade and flour milling.

Have you ever heard of this city before? Would you ever visit? Let me know! And what cities in Russia are on your list to visit?
And here’s the link to join my Russian Speaking Club by the way 😉📍 elinabakunova.com/russianclub
No, I hadn't heard of this city. I'd be happy to visit it, but I probably never will because there are other places I would want to go first. I was planning a visit to Crimea before it became impossible for us to travel there easily, so that would be top of my list.
Yes as a student in Russia, I would like to visit St Petersburg, I visited the city once in 1990, it was then called Leningrad
Yes, that would also be on my list, and Moscow. I visited both in the early 1980s. I would also like to visit Volgograd, which I've never visited but have seen glimpses of thanks to Russian Mermaid and her lovely family. She isn't posting anymore. Does anyone know what had happened to her/them? @@MightySparrow-mr
Is it famous for producing lamps? In that case I heard of it! Thanks for explaining the "g" thing. I noticed it in Belarus and Ukraine, yet everyone claims there are no accents in Russian. I notice a difference.
The list of cities I would visit is too long, some cities which are maybe missing in my opinion or whose films of you I haven' seen yet because of my absent mind tendencies😅: Omsk, Tomsk, Sevastopol, Feodosia, Kursk, N. Nowgorod, Astrachan and maybe one of the former secret or closed cities. And yes I like Rostov at the Don River of course!!! and Kosaks in general!😐😑🙂 I knew Voronezh as a region before and wasn't shure about the existence of the city itself.
Your friends' and your's smiling faces and light-hearted banter really made my day! Thank you Eli for bringing Russia to life for us who live in the rest of the world!
But I loved your click bait title, which spoke of a "city of beautiful girls" when the only girl we see there is you!🤣
@@matriputra2624 Maybe the temporary city of the most beautiful girls would have been more suiting!😉🙂
And yes of course one needs also the click bait stuff. If I would be Eli I would have to hire some "rather superficial and flat mainstream people" to help me with the comments ..😁🤷 😅😂
Tough to find a Russian girl more beautiful than Eli! Best wishes from the Eastern Shore of America!
The Girls of Perm are gorgeous. In fact, I married the most beautiful girl in Perm!
Maybe or rather probably you are right. I really don't care about appearance and how beautiful a woman is (at all). It's even a bit strange and seemingly contradictory as I have a definitive fine sense for aesthetic as well.. In my opinion people can be only really ugly from inside.🤷
@@HeinrichBeck 👍🙂
@JohnCarter-qv.....yes beautiful, intelligent, knowledgeable, amazingly smart dresser, fun creator..etc. A product of the Russian way of life. That is why a Real Man should never allow anybody to invade and destroy Russia. Best wishes from Western Canadian Shore.
Yes but you haven't seen her cousin yet, it is the kind of girl that you want to see every second and you forget everything including where you are and what you were doing. And it's all because the inside beauty comes through the physical beauty. It's rare. The most beautiful Caucasian woman i have seen in .. as long as i can remember. When i first saw her in a video i had to catch myself not to loose my bearings it's like a hard reset. Also you will never find such beauty in Usa because even when they could be physically attractive the inside is particularly ugly in that country.
We all want the same thing, no matter where you live in the world. Voronezh looks amazing, I would love to visit someday. Love to our brothers & sisters in Russia from Texas, USA.
This video has to be a textbook case of heartwarmingness - with a touch of swag, thanks to that intro!
Great entertainment and so so informative at the same time. Thanks Eli. Respect from Ireland. 🇮🇪💚🇷🇺
Voronezh is not at all far from the front ... and like Rostov ,.............. Voronezh WILL become a target as Ukraine struggles to defend the whirlwind geno cide against its beautiful people ... AGAINST THIS HELL UNLEASHED on the innocent .

Thx, Eli. Love how lighthearted this video was. The visiting good friends vibe really made this video. 💫
Very fun video, Eli. I hope you meet more friends in other cities because this one has a very nice vibe. As for Voronezh itself, another beautiful Russian city and another winter wonderland. Enchanting.
Have to look it up on map, just curious.
How refreshing .Thank you for the insight : happiness is a state of mind as demonstrated by these young Russians.. . Truly educational. Thank you Eli from France.

It is also rich in iron, lime, calcium, potash, aluminium, and magnesium. These soils are very fertile and are useful in the cultivation of various types of crops.

Noooo, don't make serious videos Eli! 😂What a fun video that was. Voronezh looks lovely, your friends are great too! Russia is so beautiful and interesting, hopefully I will travel around it one day. 🌈
Privyet Elina ! So good to see you !
Peter the Great resided in The Netherlands to learn shipbuilding. He lived and worked/studied in Zaandam for a couple of months.
He used an incognito name, Peter Michaeloff. The little house where he resided still exists. ''Czar Peter House''. Look it up.
He later also went to Britain i remember.
As a Dutch guy, i find that piece of history very interesting. Peter was a cool guy, i think.
Voronezh is an interesting city. Halfway on the route from Moscow to Krasnodar when I'm driving my Euro Truck Simulator 😆
My wife is from Saratov - also known for beautiful ladies. It would be great to visit Voronezh. Thanks for this video. I once knew people from the aircraft factories and Voronezh has BACO or "VASO" where large jets are made.
It lovely that Eli shows us the real Russia in her videos! :)
I have to say after watching this wonderful video... Voronezh is now my favorite Russian city. I very much enjoyed this video. Thank you!
Thank you for your introductions into Russia..presented with love, wonder, humour...thank you
I am so jealous of these two young men that are traveling with you. I would love to be there as well trying these different foods and seeing these different things with you. I always learn so much watching your videos. Thank you Eli. 🙏
Eli, I’ve been watching your show for about a year. You’re the best ambassador for Russia that I know. The unique food, buildings and great people of your country. God bless from Canada.
Hello Eli from Western Canada. White Kvass used to be the common among villagers, including my great grandparents. With the changes in Russia from 1870-1920, White Kvass disappeared in favour of Dark Kvass, which was more common in the factories, who use rye or barley instead of wheat. Keep up the great content!
Did they bring over any hard red winter wheat?
the white one is still dominant in the countryside.
Since Russia is so huge :
Each time you introduce a city or region in Russia, please show at the beginning of the video a map where the city and Oblast are located.
As far as I can see on Google maps,
Voronesh is not very far away from
the border with Ucraine.
Let us hope that the war will not
somehow reach Voronesh too.
It's 200km from Kharkiv so unlikely to suffer. But as Russia has declared war on the whole of Ukraine perhaps they should be worried.

Again beautiful and interesting Eli! Your friends were a hit along with Voronezh and its history and culture! Many thanks, John lampe, sunny Perth, Western Australia.
Well said.
Potato soup with potatoes. Excellent! Thanks for another splendid video.

Great video... but one thing: you all need to wear seat belts when you are driving in the car. You're all Great people- really, but do remember, it is important to set a good example, and we want all of you to be safe. 😊
Especially when snow and ice are making the roads slick. Another slick source is country gravel roads at the curves any time of the year, where it is easy to spin out of control. Have the guys go to a coroner's office and watch an autopsy or two. That can be informative and sobering for learning from somebody else's mistakes. The Darwin Award, for real.
Hi Eli!
In this video you take us to discover Voronezh, this beautiful Russian town that I already knew about, however, I saw and learned new things from this video.
Your friends have certainly helped you to make us better understand this city and its advantages. I like the sailing ship very much also because I am passionate about sailing ships and I also know that Peter I the Great liked to have sailing ships built everywhere in Russia.
I believe that not only in Voronezh there are beautiful girls but throughout Russia.
As in every place in Russia, there is its traditional cuisine like the one you showed us which has some very appetizing dishes to show for it. 🤤🤤😋
As for Kvas, I know it is a Russian drink and I have heard it mentioned many times and, for this reason, I would be very curious to drink it.
In the markets of Russian towns you can find particularities that interest me a lot about Russian traditions and customs that if I find myself in any of those, I can't help but buy everything that fascinates me.
Walking around the Russian villages, you can come across these beautiful period buildings which, immersed in the countryside and forests, seem to immerse you in another time. A well-maintained building with its colors that break the white of the snow and when you enter inside, it seems like you are living in a fairy tale. This palace has a very interesting history.
From these contents you propose, like those I have seen in other channels also on Russia, I must say that I now feel Russia closer than it could be and little by little it is entering me. Will I perhaps fall ill of Russia?
Thank you for this wonderful content and I greet you and hug you. 😊
Thanks for this comment, it was a pleasure to read it!😊
☺
That looks like a beautiful city darling, enjoy travelling darling.
Nice video Eli, it's best to have friends like these, love from India
Very good video and Team, thank you, regards from Germany🍀🌞
Great video, Eli, thank you!
Always a pleasure seeing new places and people through your eyes!
I would visit in a heartbeat and plan on visiting Russia.. the history is fascinating!
Nice presentation. I wish more Americans would watch it. My Grandmother was born in Saratov, and I am from Moscow, Idaho.
A map with the city in a regional or national location would have been great. Especially since you mention Belorussia.
Nice meeting your friends. Great energy.
It was good to see you enjoy time with friends.
Another great video, Eli. Hopefully, we'll be able to visit some of these places in the near future.

Hi Eli, We Tamil people prepare similar dish like okroshka with curd mixed with onion, cucumber, carrot, coriander leaves as a side dish to Chicken Biryani or Mutton Biryani .
@Olga-de3ru Yes we use vegetables with curd for a side dish with Briyani and prepare a sweetened drink by adding sugar with curd to make Lassi .

And now that you have arrived they have big competition ❤
My first and only flight was also in a "cargo" plane, it was a Russian An-26 paratrooper version. That year i also flew in legendary Russian Mi-8 helicopter. Its still the main Russian support heli, they only upgraded the old parts and call it Mi-17. My dad was in military in Serbia, so we travelled to our vacation in style 😄

I had heard of Voronezh, and I noticed it on a map just a few days ago when I was looking at something else. Nice blog had a road trip flavour to it. Liked the subtitles and some relatively easy Russian language to follow.
