Searching among some terrible 90s/2000s productions of medieval music, deftly dodging the countless recordings of pseudo Gregorian chants with new age pads and keyboards, I found some wonderful records - which I immediately took and studied and I will publish in the next few days - where the quality is truly amazing and they definitely deserve more attention. The first one I decided to publish is the work of the Fortune's Wheel ensemble, composed of the musicians: Robert Mealy, Shira Kammen, Lydia Heather Knutson, Paul Cummings.
Investigating the careers of individual musicians, I discovered that they have all been part of very high quality musical ensembles, ranging from folk to medieval music, for example: Robert Mealy, who sing, plays the viella and the harp, also collaborated with the ensemble Sequentia. The repertoire of "Pastourelle" is entirely dedicated to the music of the trouvères of northern France: we find anonymous ballads and works of important artists such as Adam de la Halle and Guillaume de Machaut. In songs like "Tant con je vivrai" you can feel the influence of the aforementioned Sequentia ensemble very much, the arrangement in fact is very reminiscent of their version contained in their work dedicated to the trouvères, which can be listened to at this link:
The album as a whole is truly wonderful.
I wish you happy listening!

The complex rhythms melt time and have a therapeutic effect on the nervous system for sure.
Waking up with this enchanting sound of early music is just Heaven on Earth.
yeah, this music kicks some serious ass
@corc1130 Good point, I amended "ancient" to "early" (posting comments in deep nigbt should require a triple check for precision 😁)
Thank you for this exceptional collection of Guillaume Dr Machaut music.
If it was not for David Munrow and his Early Music Consort--an early and tragic death I still mourn--I would never have experienced the celestial and beautiful music of this time period.
Thank you.
You've certainly found a shiny precious gem with this one, Mirko. Thank you. Bravo!
My goodness, this really hits the spot on this miserable, overcast Saturday morning in SE France. I have writing to get on with, but was stricken with "Blank Screen" syndrome until this came along. Soothing and inspiring. Thanks for posting it.
Thank you, Mirko. This is a lovely album, steeped in warm humanity, suitable to charm away melancholy.

Hundreds of medieval music fans, huddled around their iPads, waiting for the next instillation of ars subtilior to drop…
A hauntingly beautiful sound evoked here, it reminds me of the 90s when I discovered the work of Sequentia. Thank you.
Thank you Mirko, you're doing God's work sorting though the volumetric tonnes of pseudo-medieval crap out there to bring us the actual true thing. Cheers!
Might you be referring to the "earlier than thou" movement of some years back?
Como siempre, hermosísima Música, no hay palabras para conseguir describir tanta belleza, además de las ilustraciones Medievales, preciosas...Gracias por compartirlo.
I believe I have this gem in CD in my collection, from way back, in my early reserach of Medieval Music. How pleasant to listen again, with your extraordinary videos! I look forward to the other albums you will be sharing. Such committment to Medieval Music.
I could feel the splendor of early Spring🪻🌻🌷🐝 trickling around me to dispel the lulling of my Winter discontent🌨. My compliment🙏, Musica Medievale, for uploading these enchanting Medieval anthems.
Yes to dreams of spring as we endure more rain and cold (for us on the central coast). Instead of riding, I'll listen and write.

LOVELY SINGING, LOVELY PLAYING OF THY OLD Instruments !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
I was extremely curious about the artwork you put with this music. I didn't even know Machaut was the one who wrote the work, because of your video I've looked it up and learned something new. I read that he wrote music but most of it is still preserved and attributed as his, because he collected them into manuscripts. But my question, as a curious artist, did he also create the artwork you show? I love listening to this music while I work or like last night, as I drift off to sleep!
Beautiful!💙💙💙💙💙🦩✨
You can spend whole 01:08:22 in the medieval. Now that what I call time travel :)
Surprisingly beautiful, music! 🎵🎼

Are you able to access the archives of the musical group Ensemble Guillaume de Machaut de Paris?
Their live performances are brilliant and mesmerizing.
Thank you.
I heard them in the 1990's on a
KUSC radio program called "Cathedrals, Courts and Countryside.
Do you have access to those tapes??
