    A very loving family tutorial and a great completed tumbler!! MY only question for you, and I should know this, but how do I get a picture texted to me into a waterslide? This video was highly informative and interesting. Thank you. Carol

      Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
      If the pic was texted to you, you should be able to save it to your phone. Then you can email it to yourself… or upload it to your google photos maybe. Somehow save it to your computer. Then you should be able to import it into your Cricut Design space or whatever you are using to create your waterslide. I hope that all made sense… lol
      I haven’t made a tumbler in about 10 months due to our Flipping the Farm journey and more grand babies! I need to update my tumbler with more pics!

    I love how clear your picture waterslide turned out! Do you sand over the picture ever? I’ve gotten so discouraged with waterslide photos here lately because they always end up streaky looking under bright tone or they get water bubbles under them despite squeezing them all out and letting them dry for a while.

      It’s been so long since I made that Tumbler I honestly can’t remember. I would definitely have to go back and watch the video lol. Thank you by the way! I don’t remember if I sanded over it or not if I did, I most definitely would’ve put four or five layers of BT over it before sanding and then obviously a few more layers to finish it out. Thanks so much for watching!

    So can you use the powder mica in the crystalac? Also, can you do tumblers the same way and products with the crystalac as you do with epoxy? I can't use epoxy cause of health issues. So I'm going to crystalac, but it is so costly. Also, after you sand. Do you wash off tumbler with alcohol or something else?

    • @karenbaskettdiyer
      @karenbaskettdiyer  Рік тому +1

      Yes you can. I just add it to a little of the Brite Tone.
      You can do them somewhat the same. I have a lot of Crystalac tutorials… I’d love for you to check them out! I also have an epoxy allergy so I switched a couple years ago. There are a few differences and for me price wasn’t an issue bc I was able to do away with things like gloves, heat gun, mixing cups and stir sticks that were required with epoxy. I mean I do still use mixing cups and stir sticks with Crystalac for mica powders… but I can just rinse them off with water and reuse them. After sanding you wash it off with water.
      I hope you’ll check out my other Crystalac tutorials. I have a lot of tips that I think you’ll find helpful! Thanks for watching!

    Watching you apply the brite tone makes me think i am doing my layers too thin, would that make it not self level? Like i could still see my finger lines from spreading it on.

    • @karenbaskettdiyer
      @karenbaskettdiyer  2 роки тому

      They are supposed to be very thin. I was hoping I made it clear that I made these a bit thicker due to adding the liquid mica, or glitter. I know that if I apply too much pressure when applying I end up with streaks sometimes. If you do end up going a bit thicker just know you may encounter orange peel but just keep going it works it's way out after a few more layers. Thanks for watching! :)

    • @karenbaskettdiyer
      @karenbaskettdiyer  Рік тому

      No… it is VERY DIFFERENT. Brite Tone is a product of The Crystalac Company. It is a NONTOXIC… water based product. it takes quite a few layers and they are super thin… 4hour dry time between each layer. No bubbles… therefore no heat gun required. No mixing parts… just literally squirt it on and apply a coat in like 30 seconds or less. I love it! You’ll also hear me talk about flip’n awesome paints, universal white and pigments. Those are all Crystalac products as well. I have a couple of UA-cam videos titled Tumbler Talk where I share my experiences and details.
