Sehr schade dass kein einziges mal Sauber erwähnt wird, obwohl die Autos von Sauber gebaut wurden und ihnen auch der Doppelsieg in LeMans gehört. Der Ruhm gehört Sauber!
Basically the job was done by Sauber, not Mercedes. They only built the powerhouse. And after Mercedes had the knowledge, they let Sauber down in F1. Very sad....
Brilliant video of my favorite race car of all times. Motor was basically a M119 bored to 6.1 Litres with 2 massive kkk turbos, approx 730 bhp. And capable of 350 km/h v-max ..
Joshua Kimble the 89’ Le Mans winning cars were 5 Litre correct. I’m pretty sure I read the later C11 evolution model used a thinner sleeve in the aluminum blocks which allowed for a larger piston and 6 Litre capacity. Something I read about 25 years ago or longer.
Tony Chavez No, it was the same engine as the C9. The only major engine change was from the SOHC M117 to DOHC of the M119. Also the turbos were quite small.
Tony Chavez So have I. They were actually quite small: i.pinimg.com/736x/10/88/e2/1088e2659fa4055b2d82a30fd05497a9--race-engines-benz-c.jpg The goal of Group C was not, as it is often promulgated, huge power outputs. It was efficiency.
Wenn ich nicht völlig daneben liege waren diese Autos Sauber C9 und C11. Mit Antrieb vom Dreizack. Dürfte auch erwähnt werden. 1989 ein Doppelsieg... auf 1 / 3 und 5?? Also Doppelsieg wäre ja 1 und 2. Etwas gar selbstverliebt dieses Video.

Das gleiche habe ich auch gedacht.

Tony Chavez can you reference where the motor was a 6.1 liter. I believe it was a 5.0.

TheThirdMan agreed but the kkk turbolader turbos were not small. I saw the 89 winning car on display in oct 89’ and viewed engine up close.

dieser mercedes wurde einfach sauber durchgezogen :D
Mercedes vs Jaguar in 50s & Group C was like Battle of Britain, RAF vs Luftwaffe.
