I refinished this same dresser. Those legs are definitely not original. And also, the one I had was in pristine condition and I couldn’t sell it for even $200. I ended up painting it and it sold in 2 days for $450. Not all mid century pieces are super valuable in original condition. I think you did a great job and ignore the people who complain
I found odd that the legs in the back were stubby and rounded. I’m assuming the original ones were taller. Thanks for the confirmation, I’m thinking the revamped version will sell fast. ☺️

Less is more--the smaller amount of linen along with the trim pieces and the dark paint make for a great piece! Better than the Pottery Barn one. Great job!

You can honestly replicated on any piece that’s square and boxy, it can even be on a nightstand or end table. It was a fun project.

Tape tip was brilliant. Do you have to dampen the rattan before using it? Would love to try this technique.
I didn't dampen the rattan and it was bendable and easy to work with, so in that sense its a little different than cane. Thank you, glad you found then tape tip helpful.
