Great vid! Here in my country, is pretty hard to find the VR version of this lenses. The 5.6 VR version is even more rare and expensive. But the Non VR is pretty usable with more speed and a tripod. Great for birding.
with this lens you should be shooting at higher shutter speeds so its ok for wildlife coz you would be taking pictures of animals at higher shutter speeds anyways. So its ok for moving objects during daylight when plenty of light is available and you can get good results even handheld. In challenging conditions you need tripod. If price difference is not that much then go for VR version. If you only have that 18-55mm kit lens then get VR version as it would be good for portraits too and this lens is sharper. So to conclude: if you only using this for wildlife/sports and have other decent lenses buy Non VR version If you only have 18-55mm kit lens, dont use tripods, and dont have portrait lens, buy VR version
Yes, they would be much sharper with a VR model. I actually just received this- the seller sent me the wrong lens accidentally, but it is not very usable hand-held zoomed in.
