In 1970's and into the 1990's he had his band Herman Brood ans his Wild Romance, they even toured the United States, but got kicked out for him delving in too depply in the provided drugs that where offered, he was also pianoplayer in 1960's -1970's bluesband Cuby and The Blizzards also from the Netherlands and both bands have cult status here. In Netherlands he adopted for himself the nickname Rock and Roll Junkie, because he also was a junkie, he threw himself off the Amsterdam Hilton 11th of July

hi from germany i am not a fan of nina but that sing is cool she is probly the deepest voice around and she realy did speak ever word out she was a rebel to the east germany and she could not stop to the west if she would have not over done her crazyness that song I like and noone would talk like she sings I know my first language was english now I love german its so special we can make words english cant

Concerning the SUBTITLES:
German subtitles (Deutsch) are available in the original video. When you open the settings menu there, UA-cam should offer in the subtitle language list an item called "automatic translation" beside "Deutsch" or "German". Automatic translation (thanks, Google) opens another list with available languages for the translation. There you can select "English" or whatever you want. It worked for me right now, when I watched the video on my laptop. And as always, the translation is not perfect, but you get the meaning of what she is singing.

Nina Hagen ( she is from former Eastern Berlin Germany) had a solid group of fans in the USA too in the 1980s ! There is a Nina Hagen interview by David Letterman from 1985 on youtube. She is in this song looking a bit older as there are decades between your first reaction clip and this one!

Nina Hagen is so different. Many styles and genres in her repertoire. You should try 'Personal Jesus' or live version of 'Fever'
It seems always strange to me when a native english speaker says that german was a difficult language. In my opinion it should be the most easy foreign language because english and german are so much related and similiar. I know that german has it difficulties where foreigners usually struggle but that is true for every language.

German is not a difficult language. It's just *different* for people who only speak English, but the same would be true for French or Spanish. If you want a somewhat difficult language, try Finnish, Hungarian or one of the Slavic languages (Russian, Polish etc.)

Apocalyptica is the 3 Chello players. This is not a good introduction to Apocalyptica . Apocalyptica has done songs with Mattallica,Sabaton, Epica and others that are much better
