Ezel won worlds by being the best deck in the format, being piloted by some of the best players in the world who were also supported by players who were as good or better then them. They also had some of the best investment into the game via WCC with time, money and talent. WCC set the blueprint for potentially years to come with vanguard on the world stage and anyone who wants to make it to worlds and compete for the championship needs to be able to beat that machine as well as the others like it. Regardless of the situation of the game itself the preparation and practice came out on top. Perfect practice makes perfect play.
@@windwaker0rules yellow magic helps a ton dont get me wrong. but you still need to make optimal deck choices, know your matchups and execute your plays properly with what you are given, which all come down to preparation before the event. standard is getting to the point where good players are starting to be able to out play yellow magic.
@@windwaker0rules yeah... with dragons vanity some riviere checks start to come out but the all mighty go first is still a very large hurdle to get over.
GP finally gets their second wind ever since Ezel's return to Standard cuz G Golds sucked a lot, now Ezel became a super consistent deck that has one big game plan, multiple attacks with big numbers all the way. Also, I appreciate WCC as a team because they're courteous enough to talk to the community. Also, no one from wcc used old howell, it's usually dindrane alongside the other countercharger due to old howell disrupting the Ultima trigger sack.
Oh boi I used that gold GB8 once back in the g era with liberators and I died on deck out and now I see worlds and wonder how much fun he had when he did the GB8 skill
I just enjoyed watching people buyout and then regret their purchase because Ultima is the better finisher. I had one in my binder for years and got rid of it to a close friend who wanted to netdeck the winning list.
The only thing that still make me not enjoying Premium as much as I want to is when facing Ezel. Not only a fast superior and stride with crazy amount that even Aqua Force can't make it that fast, but also some combos that are on par(if not, better) with some clans' main finisher like Luard has Morfessa that has 2 crit every wave but can stop with pg, require a lot of set up and a certain to generate more waves, while Gold Paladin that can use Ultima to get a better effect(more critical, more power and pg restriction.) I love watching the world final match but tbh, I despise this deck.
I have the same complex relationship when facing Katrina. Against ezel, while BS, it kinda feels like at least they earned the win. Katrina just brings out a couple tokens and swings really really hard and that's that. It feels cheap to me.
@@starbound100 Katrina is pretty annoying for how easy it is to play, but the deck has actual bad matchups. It just gets destroyed by clans like Granblue, you don't even have to try. Ezel on the other hand cannot really be stopped by any clan, not even control decks (thanks Accel 2). If it goes first you lose. If it goes second you're still probably gonna lose because the deck draws so much you can't get past their defenses. Then you die to Ultima.
@@SolemnVanguard I tried the deck, it does take a bit of knowledge in knowing what you're doing, so I agree with it taking skill, especially on a big scale competition level. But the ammount of explosiveness and speed it outputs it's just too much, because it puts a hard counter to all "late game" decks, and honestly even quite a few mid game decks. Basically, if your deck starts rolling around turn 3, you're either Katrina or you're out by default. It's a problem because in my opinion, they'll have to from now on, take premium ezel into consideration everytime they design a new card. It reminds me a fair bit of the laurel situation and the handlock situation, and we all know how well that went. I don't know if I expressed myself clearly enough to convey my point. It's why generic cards like, say, greed shade worry me. Only it's not a card per se, but a whole deck.
Great video Kris! It was super awesome casting with you too!

well in premium, in standard you just need yellow magic

“How ezel won”
-opponent misses g1 g assist
-went 1st
:)
Looking at the comment section. Full of salty people lul
I’m ashamed honestly
He won because blau is only in G
Holy shit Ezel won worlds. Did not expect that 😂. I think everyone knew that it would be either Ezel or Katrina
Bo1 & Sandbagging his opponent lol terrible final showing of premium finals wouldn't be surprise if the opponent stack his deck
fi- second I guess
>:C
Haha helmet decks win most of the time!
It had nothing to do with skill ezel takes none to use
This the guy couldve won earlier with Ultima. Also hard to justify someone winning with skill in a best of 1 format.
@@Spookiester they need to ban ezel hard
Ezel in a vacuum is not that bad. But as a whole being able to CONSISTENTLY stride while opponent is at grade 2, sometimes even grade 1, is NOT ok.
Ezel takes no skill to use?
Would you be open to playing Ezel while I stream you playing it and I commentate? :)
