@@simdencard well. Now we know. Is very very accurate. Now I can't wait for Huawei watch 4!!! Huawei watch 4= Huawei GT3 heart rate sensor on Huawei watch 3 Pro. I will buy it day one!!! 🤫🤫
Hi Dimitri! I am definitely working on this! For sleep you can already see this in a bunch of my videos, I am currently looking in how to best do this for heart rate. Thanks for the tips!
I hope you're aware the intense importance of this channel. Eventually , hopefully some time soon, we will collectively realize the impact poor sleep is having on our lives. When that happens this channel will be invaluable!
Huawei should hire you in their QA/ testing team .. awesome and detailed analysis. Now I'm doubting if I'm getting good sleep and enough exercise as my Huawei watch 3 pro reports.. 🧐
Another great QS review- I wouldn't buy a smartwatch without one! Watch 3, lots of sensors- none of them any use. I followed QS example and got Polar H10 and Verity Sense OHR, because I'm only interested in HR. They're excellent and give identical traces- I could have managed with just the VS!
Hey Rob! Can you revisit this review considering the recent update to Harmony OS 3.0? and improvements over the year this device has been launched. Thanks in advance 🙌🏼 this is one of the best channels that review tech devices 💪🏼 keep it up mate 😁
You should give points to all those watches in various tasks and an overall and make a chart of your own, where you can classify them. Make the chart available to everyone here and up to date, so that people can just open and see which ones are currently better for this or that task and make their purchase decision. Ps. It can also be a website, you'll generate some good traffic ;)
@@krollpeter he could just update the chart when he's updating a review, since he already keeps all the data. I think the small effort on centralizing all that info would benefit him as well as to us, when we want an overall info
Stupid scientists channel. This guy is trying to help us but its confused us more. He's not give us a conclusion which one is what, people are crying on a chart of whose the best. He give us ton of useless review, and you have to watch every his video to know what watch are the best in heart rate monitoring which is not easy, but after viewing lots of it, I forgot and confused. Soo.. I finally went for Garmin, and forget about stupid science scientists.
When seeing these results, there doesn't seem to be any tracking improvements compared to the gt2 pro, which comes in at about half the price with better build materials (titanium vs stainless steel). The only improvements that I can ascertain are the rotating crown, app grid and sketchy temperature measurement.
I have to say, nobody comes close to Google's (Fitbit) sleep tracking algorithm. Not sure, but this feels like one of the worst results. Very much looking forward to the Xiaomi watch S1! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for this Great scientist review. Is it possible to make a nother test for huawei watch gt3 that it has a best heart rate sensor than the huawei watch 3
Dear Rob, I could not find it on youtube but did you also test the Huawei 3 PRO ? I ask you this because you mention that results of your tests obviously can be influenced by how the watch is worn on the wrist. The 3 pro is a much more bulky watch (and therefore contact with the arm can be less optimal especially during sports) compared to the regular 3 and the GT3 pro. Moreover in the near future the "3 pro NEW" will be released which has the exact same new sensors as the GT3 pro (the 3 pro NEW has exact the same watch design as the present 3 pro). So than you can really see what the influence is of the watch design on your test results (3 pro NEW versus GT3 pro). The 3 pro NEW is at the moment only available in China but maybe you can already ask Huawei for a sample for testing. I read your reviews with much interest and like the way how professional you perform the tests 🙂
Hi Rob. happy new year. Your reference for sleep is deem 2 for consumer product, but I checked and was discontinued, what do you recommend instead? It would be great to have your comments or a video on that Kind of Devices, i have seen other videos but Nobody checks it's efectivity. Hope you answer. Thanks.
Man you make a really good job! But you have to make it more specific when you count heart rate during weight lifting. It's not the same when, for example, you perform a leg work out and when you perform push ups. It gets much harder for the sensor to be accurate at the second case. For being absolutely perfect I would suggest to make a live fast forward video and compare the polar and the watch when you have break between sets. Just a suggestion. Greetings from Greece!
I have a Polar H10 and do calisthenics workouts. I have a Samsung Active 2 and a Honor GS pro. The Heart rate on the both watches matches with the polar only in the rest time, during push ups, dips, lounges, squash, the watches struggle a bit.
Hi. Have you ever considered that the inferior heart rate measured was due to the strap? Watch 3 comes with leather, and that strap looks like that version (Watch 3 Active comes with silicone one). Leather soaks sweat, which makes it softer and makes the whole watch starts moving. That would explain why other Huawei watches you tested (they all had silicone straps) didn't have any problems in this test.
Hi! I hope Garmin will allow me "early reviews" at some point too 😄. For now I have to wait for the release like everyone else. From what I understand it will be similar is performance to the "non-plus" models
So the best bet for Android users who are not interested in the Fitbit subscription model is probably the next Xiaomi watch S1? The majority of Planet earthers don't have apple or subscription money ..and exactly the same people need cheap health monitoring the most
Have you considered generating exceedance plots of the watch data and chest strap data. For example a lot of the mismatch that you show on the scatter plot could be due to the slight time lag on the rising and falling limbs of the plots. Just a thought that might be an interesting way to compare the data, since someone using the watch would likely only have the single measurement so knowing whether high/low values are off might be more useful than whether it tracks perfectly with a chest strap over time.
Your scientific reviews are so amazing 👏 however i am confuse about which smarwatch to buy... Can you please suggest which is the best option for accurate health accuracy smartwatch? My budget is arround 20k.. Thank you
For weightlifting I wonder if you only collected data when you're actually doing reps i.e. pausing HR reading between rest and only activating it during reps. Would that make a difference regarding accuracy of the watch 3 compared to the polar ?
Thank you for this useful review! I have a question about continuous heart reate tracking. Does it continuously tracks HR and therefore shows the overall calories burnt even when resting? Cause i got a Huawei Watch Fit and was disappointed it only tracks and register you burned calories when you are on the move, notlike fitbit when you are sitting and sleeping. Thank you

@@TheQuantifiedScientist Hi! it seems that Suunto 7 is a smartwatch with some sport features and the Suunto 9 is a sport watch that focus on endurance activities. Testing any of these two would be awesome!
I'll be honest I'm not sure how much I trust the sleep tracking testing in these videos lately. The scientific device basically makes it seem like you just sleep in one continuous deep sleep for a large period of the night. I don't believe people sleep like that at all. And how well can you translate brain activity alone to sleep stages since brain activity could be any number of things. You'd need to measure other factors of your body too. I'm not saying I think the watches are accurate I just have doubts of the accuracy of the "scientific" method as well so it becomes blurry just how "bad" or "inaccurate" some smart devices appear from your videos. I know I move in and out of sleep stages constantly, move a lot during sleep, move in and out of being more aware or not, I think most people do. No one really just gets into a deep sleep and turns into a brick of concrete.
Thanks alot ❤
