I think the person in the chair in the true ending is actually Greg. It could have been that he was just at home after a day of work playing games until he was greeted with the news of his dead mother. This might have been the breaking point for Greg especially because he did not treat his mother very well which is implied by the tone of his voice.
I was thinking that greg was originally a streamer but then his dad broke his pc making him work for the golf company being a streamer would intergrate the true ending into there
No no no greg was mutated into a gold ball with legs and arms thats why theirs tipped over toxic cans so he must of tripped and got inside it but than his mind went crazy with the devils determined nation
Well this is where we have come in the horror genre from FNAF to killer cartoons to demons and ghosts to creepy kids all the way to a....killer golf ball... awesome XD
I imagine the dev was so off his face on drugs of the very illegal variety and he just said to his equally stoned freind: “ok so what if there was a game that was minigolf but you were being chased by a giant golf ball that kills you and there are tons of weird endings” and then that was the only thing he remembered so he made the game
You see...The character had a history of bowels problems, which is why you need to collect toliet paper and bring it to bathrooms. One day his bowels forced him to use the toliet during a day out with his parent, causing the packet so much stress, they collapsed, with no one to save them. This is why there is so many toliets in this mall, because of the guilt they felt accidentally causing their parents death.
Me and horror games: "Who? What? Where? I have no idea what just happened..." SuperHorrorBro and horror games: "I know exactly what might have happened!" :D
I like the theory, but that's not quite how DID (formerly known as multiple personality disorder) works unfortunately! A slight change that would make it more possible would be that Greg suffered immense trauma before the age of 7-9 in order to set the stage, preventing his personality from integrating fully. With a father like what the owner of the golf course is implied to be, that doesn't seem very hard. Following that event, he grows up in that environment, etc, until he begins manifesting symptoms of DID- blacking out for periods of time, forgetting what he's doing, etc, making him perform poorly at his job. This leads to him becoming the butt end of every joke in the work environment, abuse from coworkers, etc- culminating in another split, this time with the alter being created being a prosecutor alter who fronts whenever Greg is working so as to protect the host from suffering further trauma. The reason why Mr. Golfy kills is not because he's a bloodthirsty murderer, but rather because he's searching for ways to screw up his incredibly easy job- looking for ways to control the abuse suffered, because if he chooses it, then (in his mind) it's not abuse.
@@artinstructor4020 Yes, but a spoopy video game can be realistic - realism adds a bit of horror. It makes the player think "Oh, this can happen in real life." Plus, the slight change is just... that. A very small change, not that major. I actually like this theory and think that Greg's chanting of "I am Mr. Golfy! I am Mr. Golfy!" could relate to his immense trauma? Perhaps he was put inside the Mr. Golfy suit and was forced to chant it?
@@EmaA-pu7nc but a spoopy video game can be realistic - realism adds a bit of horror. the "scary killer" is a walking golf ball it already isnt scary or realistic,
Sometimes it's not that easy. If your parents manipulate you enough, you can get to the point where you think that your only worth would be in working for your father and that you're so incredibly bad at everything that there's no way u could get another job.
True Ending Theory: Due to his father's constant abuse, Greg became a secluded and anti-social person and spent all his time playing videogames and streaming but had nothing to show for it. This probably continued until he became a young adult, So his parent's decided to employ him under their Mini-golf business
I forget, did SuperHorrorBro cover”Home Sweet Home” or “Emily Wants to Play 2” yet? It’s been a while since I watched his videos. (Minus this one of course)
I went golfing once and there was this guy in the cart wearing a ball costume and I was weirded out then I found this game and never went golfing ever again.
While I agree with you that Mr. Golfy is almost certainly this "Greg" person, I don't think Greg is the owner's son. I think the owner's son might actually be the person we see in the "True" Ending. Not only that, but I also think there are, in truth, multiple different stories all being told simultaneously. Allow me to explain... )The Owner and the Park: The owner of the golf park was a greedy, uncaring asshole towards everyone except his own family. His son was pampered as all shit, hence why he got to take the easy job of being the mascot, since he wouldn't have to do a whole lot. The owner, on top of being an asshole to his employees, also likely cut a ton of safety corners, hence all the toxic waste just lying around inside locked supply closets or in parts of the park only employees would be able to get to. In fact, I think the reason he was always so domineering over his employees was because it was his way of making sure no-one tried to blow the whistle on the unsafe environment of the park. This also would explain why he was so protective of that stuffed 12-eyed trout; if someone took it, for all he knew, they could try to use it as evidence the park was unsafe. And considering he already hated dealing with lawsuits, the LAST thing he wanted was for an investigation into the park's safety to take place. )Greg: Greg was, as you said, an employee who was treated like garbage the most out of all the employees at the park. It was his job to do basically everything (clean the park, feed the fish, do the paperwork, be the mascot (after the owner finally decided to remove his son from the position after enough complaints from customers) as well as shoulder the blame for whenever anything went wrong). After so much abuse at the hands of his boss and fellow employees, he snapped. What was the final straw? Simple, it was Christmas. I think what we see in the Christmas DLC, combined with the scene in the "True" Ending, shows us what was the birth of "Mr. Golfy". I think what happened was that Greg broke into the owner's home during the holidays while the owner wasn't there, killed his wife first (hence why the owner's son initially thought it was his mom walking in on him streaming), then his son (when they turn around after wondering who it was who was behind them, that's likely when Greg struck). After killing the two, he layed the owner's son's corpse out on a table and waited for the owner to return home so that he could see the macabre "Christmas gift" Greg had left for him before Greg killed him next, and while waiting, decided to burn their Christmas presents as an additional layer of spite and hatred. )The Player: The player character was, in fact, a random employee at some random company who had a shitty day at work and decided to go golfing. Now, I think the place was actually supposed to be closed down the whole time, but Greg, now "Mr.Golfy" had put up the 'Now Open' sign and stuff to keep people coming to the park, all as a means of carrying out a continuous revenge in the form of killing the patrons of the park that caused him so much misery. Anyways, the reason it all looks normal at first but gradually gets more and more trippy could be explained by all that toxic waste. The person we're playing as is beginning to hallucinate from exposure to said toxic waste, because that shit has almost certainly tainted the water and air in the park. The "Good" Ending is where the player character manages to GTFO, escaping the park with their life intact. The "Sad" Ending is where the player character decides that rather than leave, they'd rather try and investigate what the hell was going on, ultimately stumbling upon an underground network of maintenance passages that "Mr. Golfy" had turned into his lair- and gets themselves captured by "Mr. Golfy", which then leads into the "Escape" Ending, followed presumably by the "Good" Ending.
Man this game was crazy and made entirely no sense to me and yet you still managed to give it a cohesive backstory. Kudos to you Mike, the man with all the answers 👏🏾😂
You know. The true ending may show exactly what Greg was doing prior to being hired onto mini-golf course. He was streamer, and thus, it was an outlet for whatever ailed him. Mr. Golfy (which probably wasn't his name at the time) probably was sated or hasn't been formed yet. In fact, we could easily be taking the form of someone who was sent in to tell Greg the bad news, or in this case, we are probably telling him to come work at the golf course. The bad news about the mother may have been relayed to him during his time at the mini-golf course. Stress plus zero time to grieve plus repressed childhood trauma/anger toward his dad could easily lead to a broken mind. Sure, he is Greg. He was Streamer X (I have no clue what his streamer name would be), but now, without his streaming id, he would soon became Mr. Golfy as he was probably told to act the part. Someone in the comments did mention a broken computer as that would be another reason to work at his father's mini-golf course.
Theory : The kid's face (Gamer boy) is pale and has something red around the mouth, so possibly it is saying that something isnt right with the "true ending"
Little games like this that have so many small details can make a small simple game really more important and can leave a mark on someone's mind, which is way better than a quick scare.

Hey, fun idea, but the whole "split personalities fighting for control, one good and one murderous" thing is... really ableist and harmful to people with DID/OSDD-1. It's a highly stigmatized disorder caused from trauma, and rather than one person in a system being murderous and evil and one being nice and normal, it's actually a group of people- usually more than 2, I believe the average is ~15? Who split to take care of high-stress traumatic environments. People with DID/OSDD are more likely to be victims than villains.
I understand you being upset and I completely understand your viewpoint. However I don’t think it was at all their intention to put down Systems. I am not an system, so I have no right to talk on what is factual about those who do, I’m just simply trying to say that the uploader clearly had no malice in this. Sorry for responding late I just wanted to touch up on this just incase this still upset you:) Edit- I’m not stating those whom are uneducated on a topic are allowed to spread misinformation, I just wanted to state it wasn’t done in malice.
@@Average_Drone ????????? As you said, you're not a system, so this simply isn't your place. Unintentional bigotry is a thing, and must be called out when it is shown.
what was the third coin for? You found a third coin right before doing the sad end, what does THAT lever unlock? Is it just an extra one? Are there far more coins necessary than needed to get that ending?
Dissociative Identity Disorder (aka multiple personality disorder or split personalities) just straight up does not work like that. 1: your alters cannot attack you, they’re literally designed to protect you from your abuser 2: you cannot develop DID as an adult, it’s EXTREMELY rare to develop past age 8 3: shitty work environments aren’t traumatizing (edit) 4: DID can’t be traced back to a single event, because it was from repeated traumatic events
1. It's looking at succumbing to the evil within, not being physically attacked by your alter. 2. Who's to say Greg didn't start this at a young age? 3. No, but the mental abuse within could. 4. Greg's father continually prized other things above Greg, not just one.
As someone who owns a few vape shops with his father i feel you greg. Money will frik up everything. Straight rotted pops brain in a couple years.. shyts crazy and sad. Id give every dollar in the world to have our relationship pre-business.
i think the escape ending was far more sinister unlike the good ending youre escaping into the night probably represents that youre inner demons still haunt you wherever you go.
I enjoy your videos a lot! I hope you don't take this as nitpicking, but I want to raise awareness on the stigma of "multiple personality disorder" as you refer to it in your video. This, along with "Jackyl and Hyde" are outdated and can be seen as a bit derogatory terms for the real disorder "disassociative identity order" and often can leave people who have it feeling villainized This is just a brief comment, I really do like your work, and I know you care about your research and facts, so I encourage you to look more into real life stories of people with DID.

I understand you being upset and I completely understand your viewpoint. However I don’t think it was at all their intention to put down Systems. I am not an system, so I have no right to talk on what is factual about those who do, I’m just simply trying to say that the uploader clearly had no malice in this. Sorry for responding late I just wanted to touch up on this just incase this still upset you:)
Edit- I’m not stating those whom are uneducated on a topic are allowed to spread misinformation, I just wanted to state it wasn’t done in malice.
@@Average_Drone ????????? As you said, you're not a system, so this simply isn't your place. Unintentional bigotry is a thing, and must be called out when it is shown.
@@candleeyed the point I was trying to get across here was that they clearly had no malice, unlike yourself…
Lol "ableist" you sound like one of those fake DID tiktok kids
I swear only Mike can explain these types of games and make it make sense
what was the third coin for? You found a third coin right before doing the sad end, what does THAT lever unlock? Is it just an extra one? Are there far more coins necessary than needed to get that ending?
POV:when is hard to get the sad ending meaning is hard to get sad IRL
This game was both nutty and scary at the same time, I love it 😁
Well this was an interesting one.
Keep em comin Mikey😁👍.
Try tackling "Don't be Afraid." That one creeped me out.
This is a game i didnt know i needed
I had to go buy it 😂😂😂
@@kingcockroach. Too bad it isn't on console lol.
I like the music he uses. And this is the perfect channel to listen to scary game stories.
"Entering the portal within this building takes us to a very different end sequence:"
*Xbox series X Ad plays and interrupts the video*
I just realized that i watched this the year it came out the first time which was three years ago
me: this isnt scary
also me: sees Mr.golfy
and me again: AAAAAAAhhhhhHHhHHhhhhhHhhHHhhhhHHhHhhh
Is it weird that the music in the background while he's explaining the story is calming?
I simply loved this game I just want another playtrough it's so funny
You should play Fran Bow it's very good
Dissociative Identity Disorder (aka multiple personality disorder or split personalities) just straight up does not work like that.
1: your alters cannot attack you, they’re literally designed to protect you from your abuser
2: you cannot develop DID as an adult, it’s EXTREMELY rare to develop past age 8
3: shitty work environments aren’t traumatizing
(edit) 4: DID can’t be traced back to a single event, because it was from repeated traumatic events
1. It's looking at succumbing to the evil within, not being physically attacked by your alter.
2. Who's to say Greg didn't start this at a young age?
3. No, but the mental abuse within could.
4. Greg's father continually prized other things above Greg, not just one.
When you're early but don't know what to say: 👁👄👁
exactly
@@awarewolf591 at least i'm not alone this time...lol
Get this man a prize
@@LeSparkleChild 😂
This game in a nusthell
speed run gilfing whilst running from gold man vibe check in a wet dream
i love how the note says "Be a good little boy otherwise i'll have to bash your head in"
but right after it says "Ps: Dont touch my stuff"
Your voice is so perfect for these endings
Earlier today, I was literally just wondering when you’ll cover its lore lol
7:47 you know youre gunna learn a bunch of new things from horrorbro when this starts playing hell yea :D
As someone who owns a few vape shops with his father i feel you greg. Money will frik up everything. Straight rotted pops brain in a couple years.. shyts crazy and sad. Id give every dollar in the world to have our relationship pre-business.
I'm so sorry :( wishing you luck in everything
i think the escape ending was far more sinister unlike the good ending youre escaping into the night probably represents that youre inner demons still haunt you wherever you go.
The fact that Dawson got the sad ending and I had no idea is upsetting
*Who was ignoring this video and it kept being in their recommend so you decide to watch it*
.......i feel bad for greg he's just an abused kid, if he had a better childhood this would've never happened to him. press F for respect
So Gone Golfing pulled a Pathologic Classic Hd, then.
after 2 year his still my best horror lore youtuber
Thank you for the lack of jumpscares theyre pretty bad when over done in horror videos
I always stick with channels that don’t take advantage of jumpscare points.
I tried to watch this at night. I quickly told myself *N O* and came back this morning, I feel far more safe now.
Have you thought of looking into or playing the game “at dead of night” ?
YES YES YES YES
I was watching a iceberg video before this and some how a thing about a horror game is calmer
So, another killer DID alter theory?
God damn it not again.
But seriously, why did they choose a golf theme as the theme for this literal horror game? Its so random and weird, I love it!
I think it was actually inspired by a horror movie which was centered around golfing.
