Wait. You break religious icons to refill your tweaks... because you're an iconoclast. I played the game months ago, and only now do I notice. Well played.
I played the demo, thought it was cute and very light hearted with all the colorful background and that Blockrock music. Bought the full game. "I've been tricked, I've been backstabbed and I've been quite possibly, bamboozled"
i've returned 2 years later for a reminder of how positively this phenomenal game had impacted me when I was in a darker place. this is a beautiful game with a touching soundtrack, and i really hope you continue to bless your community with more heart-wrenching content Joakim! you and this game have a place in my heart!
Yeah, a couple weeks ago I watched a video called like "Top 10 bosses you didn't want to fight". I felt disappointed when I saw there were only mainstream games, because IMO Black is my #1 boss I didn't want to fight. She gets 3 of the best songs AND is one of the best written villains in any video game.
Same, It's been a year since I played Iconoclasts and Moonlight just showed up in my feed again and man it hit me in the feels all over again. I also just bought a copy for my friend as man this game is amazing.
So many people are stuck on Black, and while she as a character is good, complemented with a great theme, Mother also deserves more praise too. Mother and Memento Mori are some of the best.
DarkEspeon40K that could be cool ... unfortunatelly, it could not fit with the dark ambiant if no one dies ... pehaps you have to choose who must die (for example : if you kill Elro so he deosn't kill Gray and Chrome so then black could be less mad and grey could calm her down ... however letting Chrome alive could be dangerous to for City One)
This is an amazing game. I love it, the personality of the characters, the music. The humor and the human drama. Literally everything was just so well done I couldn't stop playing. The puzzles had me for a moment just long enough to be satisfying to figure out but not frustrating. The bosses all were fun as hell. Thank you for spending so many years making such a fantastic game! I hope you are as satisfied with it as we all are!
[spoilers] Can we just appreciate the Mother's Corners boss fight and how amazing it is? Not only is it the hardest fight in the game, but you're fighting a badass tag-team duo gone berserk after you just killed their "god", the one thing they worked so hard to protect. They share the same exact moves but with important differences that will get you killed if you don't remember which does what. They have a synchronized attack that is nearly unavoidable but cool as hell. All of this complimented by Psychopomp, making it feel super intense. Thanks Joakim, you made a really fun game
This game means so much to me. It got me through the breakup of my ex. Know your game is touching people through the masses joakim. Hope there’s a sequel
Konjak, you are a genius. Can't believe you did everything - gameplay, art, story, music by yourself and it turned out this good. The story is amazingly abstruse and deep, philosophical even, and Agent Black is one of the best gaming characters I have encountered.
I gotta say, "Ways Lost" (1:46:51) is probably my unexpected favorite song out of all of these. It's just musically really interesting and atmospheric while being very simple arrangement-wise. Brings to mind some songs in a relatively unknown PS2 game, Jade Cocoon 2. I also love the corrupted and weak version of Robin's theme in "Conscience". And somehow "Family" and "Greater Good" have lodged themselves in my subconscious where they'll just start to play sometimes. :D
This game means so much to me. I was going through a major depressive episode at the time and bought this game on a whim. It was just a really long and great experience that just helped me.
Konjak, I know how hard the development and aftermath of this game were on you, I just want to thank you for making one of my favourite games ever. This game will forever hold a special place in my heart, in big part because of the soundtrack. Your game is one of very few where the story kept me going more so than the gameplay, that's not to say the gameplay was bad or mediocre, far from it, it's really really good and it's got great gamefeel, it's just that the story is so incredibly amazing, it's unique with likeable characters, amazing twists and setpieces. Even after all these years, it's stayed with me. I don't know if the hardships were worth it for you. But you can forever be proud of making one of the best games out there. Thank you for sharing this game with the world. I wish you nothing but the best in life.
Ayyyyyyyy part of the EARLY SQUAD! Love the OST for this game. Wish I could have used some other tracks from this album for my video on this game. Found out a few I used I didn't even here in the full game lol so I guess those were the earrrrrrrly tracks.
I just recently finished Iconoclasts a couple of days ago (purchased it for the PS4). I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it, music included. I'd say my favorite tracks are "Charged Atmosphere", "Moonlight", and "Greater Good." I hope you have a chance to make more games in future!
Just finished the game. The puzzles were iffy, but everything else was master class, including the music. Really hoping there's a sequel; it was great!
Dude, I loved your game... The story was really refreshing! And the characters....are awesome! I really hope you continue to make such masterpieces like this one, because your the one who inspired me to learn more about game design and development. Just don't be to hard on yourself! 😋😉✌️ To konjak...
I honestly did not like the feel of the game at all, and I was going to return it...but then the story caught on...and the music following it, along with everything else. It truly became one of my favorite games, with points in it that just gives me goosebumps for how truly important some moments feel.
I'll admit that I personally wasn't that big a fan of Noitu Love Devolution's soundtrack, but I have to say you really stepped up your game this time. Great job!
I've just come here to say that this soundtrack gives me some serious goosebumps and determination. Thank you, konjak! At least one person will never forget your good deed. I hope that you feel that it was worth it, because as an expression of my gratitude, that's what I want you to feel.
Amo demasiado este juego, sin duda no había encontrado juegos que me entretuvieran hasta que encontré Iconoclasts. Gracias por esta gran entrega, Konjak.
I really hope this game gets the attention it deserves. I almost skipped over it playing so much Celeste, but this is another gem. 2018 is already looking like an amazing year for gaming.
1:40:54 [MAJOR SPOILER ALERT] So, I've just finished the game and I have only one question: Why for the ancestors' sake can I not save Royal?!?! The 3rd gun let me switch places with literally 99% of living being in the game, so why, why not Royal, why?! I tried it like 20 times before coming to terms with the conclusion that I can't save him...
Still a fantastic soundtrack, all these years later. I remember playing a beta version of Iconoclasts back around 2014 and loving it from the start. Been a fan of the game and it's music ever since. To this day, it's quite possibly my favorite indie game--thanks largely to the fact that it's so good, it never feels like an indie game! Whether I'm playing my PC copy, or my Nintendo Switch copy, when I see the main menu glow to life on the screen, it feels like it belongs there.
I just finished, absolutely loved the game. Chrome's music was amazing and Black was such a well written character, when you get feels for a villain lol.
You fucking killed it. Such an impressive soundtrack, loved every bit of it! Not to mention just how well it goes with the game and all. My favorite track would have to be Greater Good, but really, every one is just so amazing.
Konjak i just want to say you have made a game that has made me smile so much i love this game so much i cant but it into words and i hope youre next project goes byonde this masterpeace.
@konjakonjak - I just wanted to say that I LOVED(!!!!) this game. I have a few 2018 releases still on the backlog, but having played about 7 major releases this year, Iconoclasts is my favourite by a considerable margin (Valkyria Chronicles 4 in second place). No hyperbole, this game is a "Metroidvania" better than any Metroid or Igavania. I love it to bits, and I hope a sequel (or spiritual successor) comes out one day!
This game is just great! Design, music, characters - all these things are wonderful. There's some music that stuck in my head after playing this game. Boss themes: #1 - Moonlight (Best character in the game have the best boss theme. You can even feel Agent Black's suffering and despair.) #2 - Mother (This one is so sad somehow, I don't think it was intended that way, but whatever. Love it so much.) #3 - Jet Black (This track rocks for sure. And I like how it sometimes synergies with Black slamming you) As for non-boss music, I like Robin's theme, it sounds lively and bright and fits starting area perfectly.
My favourite battle theme for this game would be Conscience (2:03:28). It also helps that the battle tied to it stands out amongst the others for me personally.
@konjakonjak Joakim I finished this game a couple of weeks ago now but I keep thinking about it. Just want to throw some congratulations your way on this gem of a game. I love how non-typical it is, right down to both the plot and the music (my two favourite aspects of video games.) Really great work, I love that you made the whole thing yourself, its an amazing acomplishment and I've been encoraging others to play it. I still find myself wanting more claficiation regarding some of the lore, especially around the ending (no spoliers here but I am sure you know what I mean.) The only content publsihed I was able to find on blogs/news sites was from early this year soon after Iconoclasts released, and I think you mentioned you might divulge further into the lore/plot further down the line. Please make sure you do!!!
Amazing game konjak ;) Loved the demo years ago and it's awesome. I just felt like some secrets were cheap but it didn't detract me from the great experience ^^
konjakonjak , would you consider any of these tracks to be Elro's theme? It's somewhat curious that just about every other character gets a direct callout in parenthesis next to a song title, but he does not.
Oh, yeah, the song is called "Family." Now that seems pretty obvious in hindsight, lol. Thanks for the answer. I almost wanted to imagine that maybe his "theme" is just silence, but perhaps that'd be reading into things too much, haha.
I hope this game will receive the attention it deserves Best metroidvania I played for a long time I found the music a bit ordinary at the beginning, but when you get to a certain point in the game, everything becomes perfectly linked, music, character, place, symbolic The last game that makes me shiver that much by his soundtrack is Nier automata enough said Did you envisage to put the ost on steam? i will gladly buy it
One of the reasons when i'm atracted for a game it's the soundtrack and just say... This is amazing! :3 PD: I came here for the first time i heard ''Machines'', but in general the rest of soundtrack is too good! Incredible Game and soundtrack n.n
I picked up this game because it looked cool on steam. Played through it and was impressed. A great story that would appeal to many metroidvania fans. Keep up the good work. P.S. The music is freaking awesome.
Could someone make a piano cover for Royalty please Edit : Who would your favourite character be mine would be Royal because I feel sorry for him and what happens to him.
Hazel Cricket wait what are you doing here? Wow. Though I love how throughout the rest of the game the leitmotif is reused and you can say "oh damng its that song"
Moonlight... More like Moonlight Sonata, amirite? :^) Neverthless, its pretty epic for Beethoven arrange. Overall great sountrack, but to me parts with that metallic percurssion sounded kinda weird. Whiteout and Nomads are my personal favorites.
Its pretty popular among composers, I've just heard it in Touhou before, "The Mysterious Shrine Maiden Flying Through Space" samples same composition pretty much. Its a nice way to highlight classical composers work.
The music is now available on Spotify, links in description.
If you can, Please, do Russian translation. I dont know more in this game.
I dont understand more in your game
will this game ever get a part 2
Wait. You break religious icons to refill your tweaks... because you're an iconoclast.
I played the game months ago, and only now do I notice.
Well played.
Well, also because they're filled with ivory :v
Which also probably means breaking them is a crime...welp, add it to the list!
And yet you save at religious statues
I played the demo, thought it was cute and very light hearted with all the colorful background and that Blockrock music.
Bought the full game.
"I've been tricked, I've been backstabbed and I've been quite possibly, bamboozled"
i've returned 2 years later for a reminder of how positively this phenomenal game had impacted me when I was in a darker place. this is a beautiful game with a touching soundtrack, and i really hope you continue to bless your community with more heart-wrenching content Joakim! you and this game have a place in my heart!
Heh, Heart- *wrenching* ...
Even a year later, Moonlight still hits me just as hard...
I couldn't agree more~
Same, It's been a year since I played Iconoclasts and Moonlight just showed up in my feed again and man it hit me in the feels all over again.
I also just bought a copy for my friend as man this game is amazing.
So many people are stuck on Black, and while she as a character is good, complemented with a great theme, Mother also deserves more praise too. Mother and Memento Mori are some of the best.
Thanks for the kind comments!
konjakonjak nah, thank you for making this beautiful game. Also, do you have a personal favourite song from your game? and character?
I have a soft spot for Mendeleev's design, hah. I think I'm most happy with tracks like Nomad and Mother, though.
konjakonjak Your game was amazing! I like the little details too like how you build up to the boss battles.
I'd love a DLC where you can save everyone. :(
DarkEspeon40K
that could be cool ... unfortunatelly, it could not fit with the dark ambiant if no one dies ... pehaps you have to choose who must die (for example : if you kill Elro so he deosn't kill Gray and Chrome so then black could be less mad and grey could calm her down ... however letting Chrome alive could be dangerous to for City One)
When I first started the game, I didn't think it'd be as serious as it is. It really threw me off with the happy Blokrock theme and the vibrant colors
Great, isn't it.
And then, just suddenly, Agent White explodes into a tree.
Aesthetically, it kinda leans towards Lego and Kirby. Storywise, it's in fully in the Dark Souls territory with regards to despair.

Facilmente o melhor momento do jogo, se não, a melhor batalha também.
And then after you beat them, the girl in the corner doesn't want to talk to you...
No, we can't
Uh, what fight? Is this a secret or something? I beat the game and never did anything like this.
Yes it is one of the hidden boss fights.
Joseph Xave It is a secret fight.
This game means so much to me. It got me through the breakup of my ex. Know your game is touching people through the masses joakim. Hope there’s a sequel
Lmao every epic game' audience contains people like you :v I agree that this game is amazing and soundtrack... oh god
Love this game Joakim. That one part (you all know the one) really weighs on me even now.
Preacher is my favorite piece of music from this.
Konjak, you are a genius. Can't believe you did everything - gameplay, art, story, music by yourself and it turned out this good. The story is amazingly abstruse and deep, philosophical even, and Agent Black is one of the best gaming characters I have encountered.
1:40:54
i'm not crying, i just got... ivory in my eyes.......
Moonlight is phenomenal.
I really like Preacher.
I love all the characters for different reasons, but chrome has that PLUS this song
Royalty (Royal's Theme) has been stuck in my head! and I'm only half way.
I'm still regretting it
oh man, this is you magnun opus, and my top 10 best games
Definitely one of the best indie game soundtracks I've ever heard

Am I the only one who fucking loves General Chrome's theme. It's so damn catchy, and it makes his appearances that much more enjoyable.
And what about Youth March? The whip sounds makes it even better.
freakin insane that you also designed the soundtrack as well as everything else
I just recently finished Iconoclasts a couple of days ago (purchased it for the PS4). I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it, music included. I'd say my favorite tracks are "Charged Atmosphere", "Moonlight", and "Greater Good." I hope you have a chance to make more games in future!
Ash's Theme and Nobel's theme uses the same instruments and they have the same power.
It's because Nobel is Ash's daughter.
Yes
@Dominotik Ivan Tulovskiy glad i'm not the only one about black
@Dominotik Ivan Tulovskiy I always thought Tolo was a girl, until Chrome's final cutscene where he said "Tolo, my boy."
To konjak...
Moonlight as a whole is by far the best track.
I honestly did not like the feel of the game at all, and I was going to return it...but then the story caught on...and the music following it, along with everything else. It truly became one of my favorite games, with points in it that just gives me goosebumps for how truly important some moments feel.
U just gonna flex on every developer like that
I'll admit that I personally wasn't that big a fan of Noitu Love Devolution's soundtrack, but I have to say you really stepped up your game this time. Great job!
I've just come here to say that this soundtrack gives me some serious goosebumps and determination.
Thank you, konjak! At least one person will never forget your good deed.
I hope that you feel that it was worth it, because as an expression of my gratitude, that's what I want you to feel.
Really liked Preacher, Duel and Blessed creations, by the way
Amo demasiado este juego, sin duda no había encontrado juegos que me entretuvieran hasta que encontré Iconoclasts. Gracias por esta gran entrega, Konjak.
Blessed Creations is by far the most disturbingly haunting track in the whole game.
I agree. The whole soundtrack is well crafted. Blessed Creations is especially lovely for how haunted it sounds.
I love Moonlight, a sad song fighting agaisn't Black for the last time while you're killing her makes the scene so awesome
And when you think it's over, it comes back at the Moon ;-;
Every song is a masterpiece! I highly enjoy it. :D
Could you play something else besides Moonlight?
Why did you get kicked out of the car? Black plays more than just Moonlight.
*Hotel Mario voice:* NO.
One of the greatest games ever. Thank you for taking the time to make iconoclasts!!!
I can finally listen to the Omega Wheel theme, it's boppin'!
Pearl Carneiro It’s been a year but I whole heartedly agree.
It's been two years but I also whole heartedly agree.
It's bopping, it's dropping, but most importantly... it's "THE DEVIL OF DEFORMATION"!!!
Whiteout is pretty underrated.
Such an amazing game. The soundtrack is great too.
Loved Iconoclasts on the PS Vita
I finished the game today, and Congratulations. Thank you for this piece of art.
I really hope this game gets the attention it deserves. I almost skipped over it playing so much Celeste, but this is another gem. 2018 is already looking like an amazing year for gaming.
This game deserves more attention
I think my favourite has to be the Darland Ascent theme. It just has this "mystical" theme to it, I can't really explain it... Its amazing..
I've played this game and it's beautiful. I highly recommend it.
Beat the game one month ago, became one of my favorite game.
I'm sorry Black
I'm so sorry Royal
I may be sorry to Him
I.... screw you Elro
1:40:54 [MAJOR SPOILER ALERT]

chrome just steals the show in every scenes that he was inn. chrome best guy
Charged atmosphere is my favorite track on the entire Ost.
Thank you for create an amazing game konjak!!
You fucking killed it. Such an impressive soundtrack, loved every bit of it! Not to mention just how well it goes with the game and all. My favorite track would have to be Greater Good, but really, every one is just so amazing.

Thank you so much Konjak

Your game is the best
Thanks Konjak !

You're right. Turns out the link I posted links to Cosmic Event.
I can't stop playing this game.
From music, artstyle.
The best game that I have played this year. I love you!
PS. Is there a sequel? Lol
Wowzies almost a year now of this masta piece..
Of what I’ve played so far I think Chrome’s Theme is my favorite
@konjakonjak Joakim I finished this game a couple of weeks ago now but I keep thinking about it. Just want to throw some congratulations your way on this gem of a game. This game is so impressive, all the more that it was the work of one person. I want to be like him when I grow up.
really great game and groovy soundtrack. Will def be revisiting when I get the time for a third playthrough
Awesome ost.
Oh, I suppose the Settlement 17 one kinda is
Oh, yeah, the song is called "Family." Now that seems pretty obvious in hindsight, lol. Thanks for the answer.
I almost wanted to imagine that maybe his "theme" is just silence, but perhaps that'd be reading into things too much, haha.
I hope this game will receive the attention it deserves
Best metroidvania I played for a long time
I found the music a bit ordinary at the beginning, but when you get to a certain point in the game, everything becomes perfectly linked, music, character, place, symbolic
The last game that makes me shiver that much by his soundtrack is Nier automata
enough said
Did you envisage to put the ost on steam? i will gladly buy it
Will this be available as DLC for the Steam version, but as separate songs? I'd like to buy it there.
should be, relatively shortly
the best music for the best game
One of the reasons when i'm atracted for a game it's the soundtrack and just say... This is amazing! :3
PD: I came here for the first time i heard ''Machines'', but in general the rest of soundtrack is too good!
Incredible Game and soundtrack n.n
18:55 CHILE IS SUCH A GOOD TRACK! It's my favorite area theme!
1:00:11 Duel is also very catchy!
My heart :(
I will forever love this game
I just loved the game. Hope it gets a sequel in the future !
"Machines" was the first music I heard from this game, and I fell in love
Raison d'Etre put a tear in my eye
I get a really big 'Money Machine' vibe from a lot of these songs. The maker must have loved Planet Robobot.
Get ready
I picked up this game because it looked cool on steam. Played through it and was impressed. A great story that would appeal to many metroidvania fans. Keep up the good work.
P.S. The music is freaking awesome.
Could someone make a piano cover for Royalty please
Edit : Who would your favourite character be mine would be Royal because I feel sorry for him and what happens to him.
Robin, Mina and Royal by far!!
Mines are Chrome and Agent White, somehow.
Black and gustavo
Uno de los mejores juegos que e jugado. En conclusion: una obra de arte
I love youth march
Youth March has almost as many whipcracks as an episode of Johnny Test
Same. Reminds me a lot of Bowser's theme from SM64 instrument wise.
Hazel Cricket wait what are you doing here?
Wow.
Though I love how throughout the rest of the game the leitmotif is reused and you can say "oh damng its that song"
Amazing game and astounding music? What more can we ask.
(Love your work dude keep it up)
blessed creations is goat
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Moonlight... More like Moonlight Sonata, amirite? :^)
Neverthless, its pretty epic for Beethoven arrange.
