Out of every game I've ever played, Disco Elysium probably effected me the most. I played it when I was tired and stressed, unable to even speak to my family due to my throat being literally burned shut after months of illness, spending hours in bed exhausted and healing, with the streets of Martinaise being one of the few things able to distract me from the pain that the necessities of being alive caused me. Learning about Harry's self-destructive tendencies and my desire to see him get some form of a happy ending led me to identify my own self destructive tendencies. I tried to do a second playthrough, and when I heard Tiger King in the Void, my mind got flooded with all of the memories of the game, and I just cried, the memories of how all that Harry went through and his desire to forget, the memories of the ways that I had hurt the ones I love wrapped up and forever linked to those same memories of this game, now forever in the back of my mind. And forever in the back of my mind is the possibility of getting better, that if someone like Harry could get better, than maybe an idiot like me could too. This game fucking changed me

Writing is one a whole other level compared to other games, beautiful graphics and music, effortlessly hilarious, amazing voice acting and (somehow) also really fun turn-based RPG-style, text-heavy gameplay. This game’s soundtrack sounds so distant and fragmented at times, before becoming more pronounced and consistent as they progress. It’s almost like Harry is remembering old tunes that he can’t quite entirely recall, filling in the blanks as best he can, until, no matter if the song is accurate or not, he’s gets more confident with the composition and lets it gain a life all its own.
Your comment reminded me of William Basinski - The Disintegration Loops, where he kinda does the opposite: loops the tapes until they decay, recording their destruction. A similar work is Everywhere at the End of Time, a album about the onset of dementia. Try both if you're into strange experimental and ambient music.

@@levy3946 That's truly the same thoughts many people have in their minds, especially after completing the game. Those were the days, really; At least, for me. I remember the first time I've played this game. It was the final cut version. I've spent the entire night playing, reading, absorbing and admiring the game. It was that astonishing, and that remarkable... Sure, you can always play the game from the beginning with different choices and character style of Harry. Though, sadly, it won't give you the experience & feelings which we've all had in our very first playthroughs.
I just noticed: During the "Bleed Out" piece (1:46:03) so in the game during a Tribunal when Harry is shot and almost unconscious you can hear a subtle: "... Harry ... *sigh*" propably spoken by his ex. Amazing little detail. This game is a piece of art.
Always thought the original order on the OST was a bit odd, but this is absolutely perfect, I really love the ambient interludes too. Thank you for this!

Thank U very very much for this compilation!!!
For people looking for a game similar to Disco Elysium, try Kentucky Route Zero.
13:33 has to be the start of my favorite part in Tiger King. Something about the emphasis on the steel guitar-esque part is oddly soothing.
Best part in ost
This is so good. Thank you.
F to Respect
I really wanna hear this score being played over parts of warhammer 40k videos on youtube
pretty much the best game of all time, for me, up there with Ocarina and Witcher 3.
HARD CORE TO THE MEGA
INTERNALLY COHERENT
this game man…
The Insulidian Phasmid is the best
No 'Instrument of Surrender'?
0:24:35 i think that is it.
1:27:42 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Only one question: where does «The Winter» play? It’s perfect, yet I don’t remember, during which moments of the game it’s played.
HAAAARDCORE!
I wonder if the church ambiance (1:23:13) is based on Miserere mei, Deus
My life soundtrack be like 0:09:41
I especially admire the fact that you added the tape sound at the beginning of the compilation video. That aside, i see a compilation that is perfectly designed & edited. Very appreciated. Indeed, this video game is truly an art. An art such that, you could interact within. I admire everything with this video game. The voice acting, the lovely illustrations within... and the list goes on and on. Again, thank you for this beautiful compilation, dear @Only She Stands Here.
You're welcome! I just loved the autosave/quicksave sound, so I just had to include it in the video somehow, heh. The fact it's just one the sounds the Phasmid produces makes it all the better.
I thought the exact same words when I clicked on this video, then I saw your comment. Other games are gonna be good, but not Disco good...
@@anotherrandomchannelwithnosubs I find this ironic given one of the only hardline fascists you meet in-game is a cryptozoologist
Do you have a pack of sfx clips you could share? I haven't seen the majority of them uploaded by themselves anywhere.
I just noticed:
During the "Bleed Out" piece (1:46:03) so in the game during a Tribunal when Harry is shot and almost unconscious you can hear a subtle: "... Harry ... *sigh*" propably spoken by his ex.
Amazing little detail.
This game is a piece of art.
Omg how did you notice this?! What a beautiful detail!
@@lalunetanaka I listen to this OST far to often :D
Always thought the original order on the OST was a bit odd, but this is absolutely perfect, I really love the ambient interludes too. Thank you for this!
Thank you! Actually, the order I've put these in is the order I discovered these areas in my first playthrough, hahah. Well, almost, but still.
Those horns. Those god damn horns. They sound like the damp, like the chill of a hangover morning. They smell of salt and broken dreams. I love them, they hurt me
Shivers [Medium: Success]
i hated it until i cried over wishing i could hear it again and have it hit the same as it did the first time when i hated it
i cried too
i showed Instrument of surrender to an old 60 year old friend of mine- and she cried even though she heard those horns for the first time, and i with her
she asked me to play it again, and she's eager to play DE too now
the horns with the bells at the end reminded us of our city's horns n bells that play every 12 am
