    Omg best tutorial ever! I've watched literally hundreds of tutorials I kid you not! This was to-the-point and covered the ENTIRE face! Never thought to do eyes like that, and never knew to do a glazing at the end of the highlights. I struggled with this for sooo long until now. Thank you!

      @theminiforge do you think you could do one with pale skin tones? Such as ionrach skin? I'm not sure what to use as a good shade color. I painted my first eyes tonight with this vid and am happy with the result. Needs practice, plus sculpt wasn't good, but it works well!

      @@Lavendeer201 can do another one for sure with pale skin, but cant promise it will come out soon since we are in old world hype month. Do have in mind gw names things in way they dont even use them themsleves, that a paint has a name might mean that is designed for a purpose but that color might represent the final highlight.
      That color seems to have a hint of green, so maybe try something with a hint of blue for the shadows("hint of" not straight blue)

    amazing work. could you please do a tutorial on how to paint feminine faces? possibly with make up too? painting sisters of battle heads feels hopeless, they all end up looking like men for me. i'm tired of stripping the paint off of tiny plastic heads.

      yep, you go back a step. Usually is the pupil the one that requires going back to the white when the second eye ends up not in the same position as the first

    What size brush do you use for details like this?

  • @dougjones3305
    @dougjones3305 8 місяців тому +7

    For the love of God everyone do not make your paint this thick because that is how you obscure detail! Paint is what does it! When you add water it thins out the paint enough to not obscure the detail in the same way dipping your model in yogurt versus dipping it in skim milk.... Which would obscure the detail more? The thicker yogurt would after one dip but no matter how many times you dip it in skim milk there will always be the same detail. It's the same idea with Paint. Paint without water is thicker than paint with water. 5thin coats is always going to look 100 percent better than one thick coat. Always have to do at very minimum 2 coats.

  • @dougjones3305
    @dougjones3305 8 місяців тому

    That's not true. If your paint is really thin it covers up much less detail than thicker paint. If you do 3 layers of very thin paint there is going to be much more detail then if you made it thick enough for one layer to be enough. Adding water just simply doesn't make more medium which would typically obscure detail, instead water just evaporates. It might be a little bit of a pain but I find watering down my paint to the point of having to do 3 coats is the most optimal in my opinion. Please for the love of God don't try and get things in 1 layer. I paint competitively and this is one of the most important things. Other than that this guys coloring technique is pretty decent. I don't know why he dropped such a big bomb in the beginning though because that is something you discover pretty early on.
