Great point!!! I've had multiple experiences since leaving the church that would have been the core of a testimony or talk on Sunday... except they happened after I learned that the church isn't true, and have often been related to things that the church doesn't support (like the joy, peace, and happiness I have felt when I learned that a relative of mine fell in love with his boyfriend and has found true happiness).
The Holy Ghost is literally just your inner voice, not an external force. When you're indoctrinated, all that's happening is you're receiving subliminal reconfirmations of your own faith as the 'Spirit'. Your brain only works with what's been put there
That fact eliminates a lot of the GAs since they supported Tim Ballard and his use of psychics seeking Nephi the prophet. Elder Ballard mentioned how Tim Ballard knew Nephi. This proves that at least a few GAs believe in psychic "witches"!
The sheer vengeance and delight in making people suffer just boggles my mind. Like how on earth is "denying the holy ghost" even a sin? That's like "I don't wanna be your friend" or "I want to breakup," not like me causing anyone any harm at all. I was just telling someone yesterday that my whole ethics can be summed up by, "I don't want any human or animal to needlessly suffer." That's it. But that makes me worthy of eternal suffering. Mkay.
Mormonism has the same issue that I have heard with other Christian groups. If you are never told the Gospel, you are not condemned to hell. If you are never told about Mormonism, you are not condemned to Outer Darkness. You are actually damning people to hell / outer darkness by proselytize to them.
Yeah true Christians don’t believe that. The Bible indicates that God will judge everyone according to how they responded to the revelation they have received. By that standard, some non-Christians may go to heaven and some Christians may go to hell. Doesn’t matter if someone has been told the gospel, read the Bible, etc. God judges us based on what we do with what we have. We will continue to proselyte because we’re commanded to make disciples of all nations. We don’t hold back because of what someone might do or not do with that information. Judgment is coming and “nobody ever told me” will not be an excuse that’s going to work
Ah, finally a man that knows how to identify true Christians. LOL@@PBP2025 What makes your reading more founded than theirs? You have nothing that they don't have, too. You have nothing of substance.

When you read that in the bottom tear, criminals are "made clean by their suffering," it got me wondering what the point of Jesus even was then when pretty much everyone would fall into the bottom tear. It also speaks to a culture that is punishment driven. Which I feel like hits on something, but only the surface and I'm not yet sure what it is

I have always thought that the 3 degree of Glory doctrine makes a mockery of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Didn't He suffer for our sins and die on the cross so that we all may be saved?
This is so fascinating to me. I think the Joseph Fielding Smith definition was to make people afraid to leave. When I left the church I’d had all kinds of questions and issues especially about the racism and misogyny in the church. I prayed and prayed and every time I thought about leaving I felt a strong sense of peace that I never felt about staying. So that peace by the church definition would be from the Holy Ghost since Satan cannot give that kind of peace. I also had a feeling that if I left and had faith in my decision to leave I’d have more confirmation about my decision as I time went on. Well, I’ve never gone back. So by church definitions of the spirit, that is what I followed and it lead me out. Now I look back and believe I was trusting myself and my own inner wisdom. Regardless I’m out and what a relief.

Great video as usual Lex. I realized long before I broke away from being mormon all the fun people were "going to hell" and all the people who were trying hard to be celestial were not the ones I wanted to hang out with anyway. I hope to find you in hell and enjoy the party with you!
So if denying the spirit is an unpardonable sin, why wasn't in on the tablets that Moses carried? Didn't Joseph F. Smith also state that the law of tithing is temporary? Everything we were taught in Sunday school was cherry-picked nonsense
As a plain Jane gay Christian who loves your channel (due to many similar things in my life I’ve experienced) this tiered afterlife system is so mind-boggling and how people can just flip flop through all of the kingdoms in the afterlife? Makes me wonder what the purpose of our life here is anyway then with this worldview.
Aside from the fact that this whole idea originated from cult leader and con-man Joseph Smith, every requirement for OD is subjective. What would be considered valiant? What is wickedness? If someone can give mass-mudering Adolf Hitler a pass, yet condemn an ordinary member to hell for leaving Mormondom?, I don't give their subjective evaluation much value.
Outer Darkness, if I see Joesph Smith with Jesus and God judging me than I'm not going. Besides, I see the three kingdoms kind of similar to the Hindu Caste system in India.
Evagelican friends of mine told me I am going to hell. I grew up jewish, in which there is no hell. I am now agonistic atheist. I never believe in jesus in any way but a man. I think that the bible is a work of fiction with horrific stories and a monster of a god.
I’m sure there’s a quote from Brigham young that no women will go to outer darkness only men as it says sons of partition yet in later years the church leaders said different… go figure 😂
Clearly, the outer darkness threat is a cult retention tool. Yes, I was told I would either serve my TBM brother forever or more likely, end up in outer darkness. Silly. My TBM sister said she could come to visit me in the afterlife. Oh thanks! Silly cult. We love our arrogant Mormon friends and neighbors and look forward to the time when they are freed from this nonsense.
As a trans woman that does mean I would be going to outer darkness, as I meet all the qualifications and the church says I am not what I say I am. I'll let you all know what it's like when I get there 😅
Not trans, but if God is sending the trans people to outer darkness, I'll join you in solidarity. We can have a slumber party (after all, I was always told growing up that slumber parties lead to hell)!
Not to any of them! The thought that there are four levels of heaven/hell is ludicrous. Just a bunch of rhetoric of a bunch of sick-minded old men who want to control you.
I was taught that for one to be able to deny the truthfulness of the Holy Ghost that they would have had to have witnessed Christ in the flesh AND have a perfect knowledge of his goodness and that he was the Son of God, which witness can only come by the way of the Holy Ghost. This seems to be in line with the Kimball teachings and subsequent teachings by other general authorities. However, it's all a crock o' schitt! These kinds of stories are one way the church has developed as a method on how to keep people anchored to the church, not that most people here don't already know that! 😁
Just remeber any thing said by a more modern phophet trumps anything said by an older prophet, so if Kimball was the last President to speak on the matter, you are good to go for the terrestrial kingdom.
I had a Sunday school teacher tell us that girls can't become "sons of predition" because it says "son" on purpose. You have to have had the priesthood. So I'm just telestrial trash. 🗑 😅
I joined the Mormon Church when I was 21 Years old and was a member for almost 36 years before I left and had my records removed. I really enjoy your videos and I can totally relate to just about everything you report on. I would like to recommend that as you quote articles that you display what you are reading along with the source as opposed reading from your phone screen. Much more effective.
I was baptized into the church 5 years ago and recently left, and requested numerous times for my records to be removed… but the bishop and leaders refuse to remove me because they think I’m just confused and lost and being brainwashed by others…🤨🤷🏽♀️ I’ve even been told “you’re so pure and sweet and innocent and we just can’t bear to remove you..” that’s just weird and I don’t know why they act like there is something “so special” about me to where they just “can’t bear to..” let me go. Even though they know I drink coffee lol and have been studying with my sister & her husband who are Jehovah’s witnesses..🤷🏽♀️ I sometimes feel low key scared that one day I’m going to get kidnapped by Mormons. Especially considering some who are back home in Utah keep telling me I need to come visit Utah… probably so they can kidnap me and keep me there lol..🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
I was always told by my Mormon Mother, I would be going to Outer Darkness, where there's Weeping, Wailing, and Gnashing of Teeth..WTF is Gnashing of Teeth?? LOL!
@stuartsenften237 I always thought of gnashing of teeth as teeth grinding....like a parent does at night and it sounds like a wild animal😂, waking you from your sleep, wondering how the creature got into the house, only to realize they are deep in REM sleep 😅
At the end, when you were asking us where we would end up, all I could think of was in the movie, Forrest Gump, when Forrest says, "I am going to Heaven, Lieutenant Dan." LOL 😅
Off-topic, but I can't help it... Now that you showed us the cat, I kind of want it to have some little apostate outfits to wear, in the manner of the seasonal outfits my fellow Michiganders have for their plastic porch geese.
Me? I'm certainly headed for outer darkness. But I'll be in good company--members of the LBGTQ+ community (some of the most wonderful people I know are members of that community), immigrants, and the others of us who have left the church. I'd rather go to outer darkness with good company than be in one of the levels of heaven with a bunch of judgmental, holier-than-thou, assholes (sorry, but that's the best work I can think of).
You rock sis. I am a born HINDU who eats cows pigs cats dogs monkeys shrimp bugs snakes ... and have been condemned to Hindu Hell. I guess each one has their own special Hell ! Keep up the good work.
I heard a devotional on type Cleon Skausen the church's doctrine expert at the time. He was of the opinion that all those who were in the three kingdoms will progress eternally but at different rates of progression.
I went on mission during the reign of President Spencer W. Kimball. I heard many from GAs and Stake Presidents. That bar is set very high to be able even to qualify to be a son of perdition at you needed to have an actual heavenly visitation and a sure knowledge of the Holy Ghost, and members will never qualify for Perdition. But since any person who gets dammed who has a physical body become ruler and rule over all the fallen spirits who never got a body. So Perdition is not all that bad.
I am not sure if there is an afterlife, so I do not really care. My son is special needs. His preschool and first grade teachers were angels. I have told my mother that if I die and there is an afterlife the first people I will look for, assuming I die before my wife, is the two of them. If they are not there, I will assume that I did not make it to the best place possible.
My ex-husband told me I couldn't go to the celestial kingdom without him bringing me through the veil. So I guess I'm good. He did come to my house and try to k*** me. I don't want to have him bring me through the veil. Dang
I grew up believing this: might be true, might be false, but it was my understanding… In order to be a son (or daughter) of perdition, you had to have seen a physical manifestation of Christ, usually in the temple. I had heard this was the most impossible sin to commit, because in order to commit it, you had to have “your calling and election made sure” meaning: you are a prophet, or were called to be one, or an apostle, or you saw Jesus in the temple, or you received your second anointing. But that was my understanding. Others may have a loser or tighter interpretation depending on their upbringing, I think. Seems there’s a lot of Mormons who think a lot of different things about a lot of different things. Like “what’s the f*ck is doctrine anyways”?!??? … wrote this part way thru the video. Seems I was brought up on the Spencer Kimpbal view of the Mormon world. Maybe I’ll be joining you in hell. Oh well. Seems hell gonna be a much funner place with you there. Wait, you have tattoos. You might be in a lower level of hell than me. I don’t have piercings OR tattoos. I guess the only way we meet is if I visit you. Shit.
Welp, I’m going to hell. 😅 I’ve been legally dead before, thought I remembered seeing Christ and now I don’t believe in any of that. I think it’s pretty safe to say I’m denying witness. But that’s okay because it seems like all the good people are going to hell and I wouldn’t want to miss the party 😂
I mainly left because the social aspect wasn’t real and authentic. It was 100% fake! These are people that IMO have mentally never left high school and to this day praise others to their faces, yet indirectly talk shit behind their backs. In addition, they’re insincere and go out of their way to tell the other person what they want to hear. The only time they get into any confrontation is when someone is a critical thinker and starts questioning or making comments that aren’t in line with what they believe is church doctrine.
It is up for interpretation but I think I would be Telestial because I have never been baptized a Mormon or taken part in ordinances, so I think I can avoid Outer Darkness. Will not qualify for Terrestrial because I don’t have a testimony of Jesus Christ.
Well I left the Mormon Church and am now a Christian. Normally in Mormon theology, Christians go to either the Terrestrial Kingdom. BUT because I left the Mormon Church, the faith in Christ that I now possess is invalid and is as if I don’t believe at all. So in their view, ex-Mormon Christians go to outer darkness. So yay us!
I had this question during my mission, and my mission president told me that he didn't even think he could possibly be a son of perdition. I don't remember if he mentioned Kimball, but it was basically the Kimball answer to the question, and that I would never have to worry about being cast into outer darkness. That being said, I will gladly go to the telestial. All the coolest people will be there!!
I've had that *exact* same thought before, Lexi! Hypothetically getting to heaven and finding out Mormonism was "the right answer", and having the chance to 'accept the gospel' then and knowing I'd still be like.... "This is FUCKED. No! I'm still out! Send me wherever, but I'm still not part of this" hahahahahahah

If i remember correctly Jeffrey domer was taking missionary lessons a d even had the church helping him during his trial
And then there's blood atonement, because Jesus' blood was not enough to cover all sins in Mormonism. Good thing Mormons don't practice that anymore.
I'll see you there. Hell that is. 😅
Okay but outer darkness sounds hella cool like im going on a adventroues quest
LOL!
That is such a loving parent thing to say. Ugh! 😮
Think your mother was talking about marriage 😂
@stuartsenften237 I always thought of gnashing of teeth as teeth grinding....like a parent does at night and it sounds like a wild animal😂, waking you from your sleep, wondering how the creature got into the house, only to realize they are deep in REM sleep 😅
@Riverrstone LOLOLOL 🤣🤣🤣 oh my gosh! This is truth.
Im not sure but if i get there first ill leave the gate open for ya!!! 🤷♀️🙄🤣
So much fear mongering. So much control and like I said fear is trying to stop members leaving as this could be the result.
Unrelated: just watched a meme review by Nemo, you've done a couple, please consider another meme review.
I heard a devotional on type Cleon Skausen the church's doctrine expert at the time. He was of the opinion that all those who were in the three kingdoms will progress eternally but at different rates of progression.
So Brutus will end up in the Terrestrial kingdom, for as we all know: "Brutus is an honorable man"
How much faith and confidence can I have when the official story changes all the time?
If they are not there, I will assume that I did not make it to the best place possible.
this is not only in Mormons but also shared in Mainstream Christianity (Protestant, Orthodox, Catholic ) as well, an eternal sin
My ex-husband told me I couldn't go to the celestial kingdom without him bringing me through the veil. So I guess I'm good. He did come to my house and try to k*** me. I don't want to have him bring me through the veil. Dang
I grew up believing this: might be true, might be false, but it was my understanding…
In order to be a son (or daughter) of perdition, you had to have seen a physical manifestation of Christ, usually in the temple.
Lexington could you tell us about visions of Glory got the book its real weird
It is up for interpretation but I think I would be Telestial because I have never been baptized a Mormon or taken part in ordinances, so I think I can avoid Outer Darkness. Will not qualify for Terrestrial because I don’t have a testimony of Jesus Christ.
outer darkness my destination it would appear for this (longtime exmo) “lamonite”, if i ever believed 🤷🏽♂️
So yay us!
I currently have a one way first class ticket to hell LOLOLOL
This makes me feel we are all in hell now. How do we level up?
I had this question during my mission, and my mission president told me that he didn't even think he could possibly be a son of perdition. I don't remember if he mentioned Kimball, but it was basically the Kimball answer to the question, and that I would never have to worry about being cast into outer darkness. That being said, I will gladly go to the telestial. All the coolest people will be there!!
If you're really bad the devil sends you to heaven to spend eternity making macaroni art with the Mormons
Oh man, you just convinced me to be sooooo good from now on!
Whats up, Satan? I heard you had a special place for me here. Is that like VIP or First Class or something?
on a more serious note, life has been a million times better for me without the looming idea of hell haunting me.
Also, also, team telestial here
@@tresnalder2149 TK Smoothies for all!
Don't worry, the entirety of the LDS gets it wrong too...
Im in a similar sopt as you, but i became an apostate at 13yrs old 😎 see you in (probably) outer darkness 😂👋🖤
By this definition, wouldn’t Peter have committed the unpardonable sun?
There are only *_Sons_** of Perdition,* not *_Daughters..._* Devil 😻 Magic strikes again! 😅
What about a trans female? 😂
Their concept of Heaven is like being on a Hamster wheel. No matter how hard you try to become perfect, you always end up short and dissatisfied.
