Just diagnosed with cubital tunnel left side, carpal tunnel bilaterally and thumb arthritis bilaterally. And dupuytrens contracture left pinkie. Of course the orthopedic surgeon recommended surgery from elbow to pinkie - not interested! I've started all the exercises you have online. Still early in my rehab but I'm very happy that you are out there giving good information.

It's been more than 20 days now, and I was just thinking to see a physiotherapist tomorrow morning itself before I played this video. And guess what? Its late, the rooms dark, found this by luck, and did all your thumb exercises... WOW, it really has alot of potential for helping my thump CMC discomfort. Well my thumb started hurting from playing tennis for a long time everyday and i just stumbled on this video, did it now and it is great, I will keep doing this a couple of times a day and hope it improves, thank you for this video and for your amazing channel.
The last one fixed my pain in moving thumb and stretching it .. I used to feel sudden resistance and clicking feeling in my hand on forearms and at the thumb area at certain angle of stretching my thumb.. thank you so much .. I thought my thumb has fractured but in reality it was just a case of misplaced stretching in forearms muscles causing stiffness in my thumb.

Thank you Dr. Jo. My pain(it is pretty bad but I have a strong tolerance for pain and continue to do everything) started back in May. I broke my right wrist and was in a cast. So I started to use my left hand for every thing. By the time, the right hand cast came off, my left thumb joints were really inflamed. They still are. I am going to do these exercises faithfully and I sincerely hope that will address the issue.
Hi..after my husband passed away I'm 2018 I freaked out and just did everything he would normally take care of while also trying to have a "normal" summer for my daughter with quad rides...I over worked my thumb so much I couldn't open things & the doctor I had at the time wasn't very good with the aftercare info...he said don't use your thumb...so I didn't and now my strong hand is so weak!!!! I can barely do things some days..even simple things like opening a jar and I'm only 38.. Your video actually made my thumb feel a bit better after wrapping gifts all day! I'm just trying to find a way to strengthen my thumb/hand again. You don't happen to have a video about feet? I had a toe problem that now had made it almost impossible to bend my toes themselves without my pinky starting to cramp....same doctor problem

My thumb was moving slow and wouldn't go all the way to the meaty base, not much pain but still annoying to not be able to move it freely. Tried your exercises and they really helped! My thumb moves a lot better now! I will most likely watch this video again if I forget how to do the exercises
I sprained my thumb and had difficulty moving it due to how stiff it was. These exercises helped me loosen up how stiff it was and now it’s in pain free😊

omg thank you so much I have well I don't know but I'm pretty positive I have tendonitis in my thumb for working it too much cuz I had tendonitis in my arm and I know what that feels like so I'm technically diagnosing myself with tendonitis in my thumb. And I did those exercises and it's actually working. Thank you so much.
I’ve been doing these exercises for a few days now and I already feel some improvement in my thumbs range of motion. I do both hands simultaneously, and I have a tendency to cause pain to my right hand, which is in worse shape than the left. I tried doing the exercises with my eyes closed and it was a big help. Instead of focusing on the movement of my hands, it allows me to focus on the feeling instead. So, instead of overstretching my bad thumb in order to keep up with my good thumb, I’ve avoided the tendency to stretch both thumbs through the same range of motion. I haven’t hurt my bad thumb once since I started doing this routine with my eyes closed.
These are helpful! I have torn the UCL and possibly RCL of the thumb. This was 6 months ago but I didn’t seek treatment until early December. The hand specialist chastised me for not seeking treatment sooner. I have been wearing a brace off and on. But it is still quite bothersome. Are there any exercises to help this area? As I was doing these exercises, it began to aggravate my injury. HELP! Thank you! 😊
I had a fall about three and a half weeks ago . Ended up injuring my thumb. I went to the doctor, xray showed no fracture but a bruised thumb. She showed me one exercise which was the one you showcased where the thumb meets the center of your hand motion. I was looking for other thumb joint exercises and came across yours. I’ve been doing these exercises for a few days now and I already feel some improvement in my thumbs range of motion. I do both hands simultaneously, and I have a tendency to cause pain to my right hand, which is in worse shape than the left. I tried doing the exercises with my eyes closed and it was a big help. Instead of focusing on the movement of my hands, it allows me to focus on the feeling instead. So, instead of overstretching my bad thumb in order to keep up with my good thumb, I’ve avoided the tendency to stretch both thumbs through the same range of motion. I haven’t hurt my bad thumb once since I started doing this routine with my eyes closed.

These are helpful! I have torn the UCL and possibly RCL of the thumb. This was 6 months ago but I didn’t seek treatment until early December. The hand specialist chastised me for not seeking treatment sooner. I have been wearing a brace off and on. But it is still quite bothersome. Are there any exercises to help this area? As I was doing these exercises, it began to aggravate my injury. HELP! Thank you! 😊

I had a fall about three and a half weeks ago . Ended up injuring my thumb. I went to the doctor, xray showed no fracture but a bruised thumb. She showed me one exercise which was the one you showcased where the thumb meets the center of your hand motion. I was looking for other thumb joint exercises and came across yours.
