Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 лип 2024
- After a week at sea we reach Bahia de los Muertos in Baja California Sur. We had no idea where we'd make landfall but reconnecting with friends on a beach we think of fondly sounded perfect 👌
Thanks for watching!
p.s. I try and reply to as many comments as I can but we are still so so busy so please do not take it personally 💕

Ruth, you are such a great writer! Congrats on the safe arrival
I don't remember seeing you guys this serene. You're living your best life. The last 3ish episodes have been so peaceful, so asmr... The very promise your build had for you and for us as viewers. You prove again that the journey is far more important than the destination.
Boggles my mind why you dont have over 100k subs. Making good memories.
Those birds were pissed off you lost that Dorado 😅😂
Ruth: your eloquent poetic voice lulls us to sleep as she makes her way comfortably to Baja. Just an exceptional episode and we all are so Happy for you both.
Thank you!
Was so fun getting to run into each other in anchorage! Can’t wait to do it again ❤
I'm calling it, Ruthie!! The finest episode ever! Clothing optional. So happy that your extended stay at sea was as beautiful to as it seemed to me. Fantastic! With trivia included. So very beautiful.
I am so jealous, 1 more year before my boat will be ready. I am so happy for you. I am sure the sacrifice was worth it.
l enjoy listening to your narration each and every time . As always you are a great word smith THANK YOU
Thanks for bringing Baja and the sea of Cortez back into my life… it’s akin to reuniting with an old lover ❤️ beautiful episode
She's becoming a real sailor!! Congrats!
It was great to spend some time and drink “a little bit”of tequila with you guys again! 💙⛵️ Already miss you again!!
Ruth has such a calming voice. Glad you two are having fun!
great video you guys, never a disappointment
Ruth and garrett, please pay attention to this , it might save you and your boat , Ive been going to the sea of cortez 50 years. My boss who originally took me panickly warned me if the santa ana winds start , imidiately head for a cove, dont hesitate, I should have taken him more seriously , I eventually had a charter boat there , I got caught in it in 2008 in a sport fisher , a much faster boat than yours, we almost didnt make it, 10' seas in minutes , It will put you on the bottom before you make shore . It goes from glassy to hell faster than you can get to safety .
I agree, weather changes in 30 minutes. We usually stay in Marina Cortez with our eyes open.
They have a full keel sailboat mate. They can heave to and put out a para. Won't be fun, but they won't go under.
Ruth your narration is magic. I sure hope you are writing a book or at least beautiful poetry...........I love listening to you soft voice and gentle words.
The Sea of Cortez cruising season starts in April. The fact that you built your own boat is amazing in itself. But seasons don't change so you have two choices, stay put or head to Puerto Escondido. LA Paz has an excellent local cruisers vibe and Puerto Escondido is a distance to stores. I'd stay put for hurricane season.
Calvin and Karen watching from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦.. A wonderful life.
There is authenticity here, and a good amount of maturity, it's nice.
This video brought bsck a lot of good memories.😊
What a great life you 2 have !!
A steel leader is alot harder for the fish to bite through than a mono leader .
You two make me laugh, I think it would be great to meet up in real life. I have follwed you from the beginning and think where you are now is something so great. Just carry on and keep it
real as have done for so long.
. complements on your sharing so many important moments and thoughts , appreciation as well to the spirit vessel .❤🎉
pretty epic watching those fish jump behind the boat.
You really captured the feeling of the voyage. Thank you so much for sharing :)
Another beautiful video, I only found your channel last weekend, it is very relaxing and I love your boat, the wood, masts and rigging looks fantastic. My outdoor activities a motorcycle riding, with a 35 year old sidecar and newer bike a couple of years ago, but being out in the weather is fantastic.
Always in the moment you guys and gals. Good job!!!
sanity no other word for it.
Great commentary. Ruth, you are quite the wordsmith..
This video saddens my souls as I long to live back on the water and have my time on Land come to an end again. It truly feels good to know that the Sea is where I belong, even after the events of this winter.
Enjoyed your next to the water video segments of your hull moving through the water and the birds on the boom. Keep up the nice videography.
I have follicle envy…. This guys beard is off the hook!
Your resilience and humor shine through in every episode of Salt & Tar! You bring such enthusiasm and skill to the challenges of boat building, turning each week into a fascinating journey of craftsmanship and camaraderie. And I'm Floating Village Life.
The water is sooooooo blue!
Fantastic. Cheers
Best video to date. ❤️
Just hoping you two have more than a paddle board just in case the the unspeakable should happen to Rediviva. Please make getting a working dingy or life raft a priority. I'm in awe of what you have accomplished , be safe.
Greetings from Austria/Europe, Sailing sapore di mare Christa and Robert❤️
Parabéns pelo trabalho!!!
Um abraço e sejam felizes sempre!!!
I have watched you guy's for years but, that intro you did about yourselfs when you lost vid footage ..... U2R amazing ...: - ) I so look forward to your vids ... Thank you
The noisy hitchhikers are definitely a PITA from the sound of their harsh interruptions. Ruth should write a book her intertwining voice and the story is mesmerizing to listen to.
Thanks guys!! Love ya!
I'll trade you weather! Sitting on the patio, in Red Bluff, CA with 113f temps heading to 117f. It's way too hot! 😞
So amazing
Ruth, you should write a book.
Hey you two, make sure to come to Auckland New Zealand for the SailGP Regatta January 18-19 2025, foiling monohulls 50-plus knots..
Great video
A good video, a great life ! Congrats. I think, without ever being there, that I could spend a lot of time in the Sea of Cortez. Yes, it gets hot and the winds are lots of times uncooperative but, if you're not in a hurry, it really doesn't matter. Take care.....
I say this a someone who been with you since Washington...
I love the boat...love the rigging etc... But... i really really really hope you guys one day soon get to upgrade to a 50-60' cruiser with power everything and air conditioning and all the bells and whistles.. if its not on your dream board it should be 🤘
I like your ship as it doesn't appear to lean over too much while sailing and the hitchhikers in the rigging seem to appreciate it.
Thanks for Sharing. Happy 4th of July you two.
I like the sailing parts
Always look forward for your new videos, I try to watch them as soon as they are posted
Today I received a shirt re And you are coming with us and a nice silowet off Redeva
Very nice
Cdn. Dave
Love this episode so cool , but was wondering were next saling seasons goal would be
Bird's can't live with them, can't live without them.
Amazing
You're definately on the right side of Mexico at the moment .. just hope it stays so Idyllic for you all...
Keep an eye open for a Girl solo sailing with her dog on a wharram Tiki cat she repaired herself.
So cool 😎 ❤❤❤
2:40 yum I can eat, that all day
ON ON !!
Life is hard, when you make it complicated.
Cool boat. I was noticing the point of your bow, it is squared off/not pointed. Looks like it pushes water instead of cutting thru, tell me about that, interesting design
Sailing this weekend in 90+ weather and it occurred to me Garrett must suffer with the beard and long hair in super hot weather.
⛵⛵⛵⛵
Hey Ruth: you're sure not wearing those boots anymore!
❤❤❤❤
What a Life lol
Day five you think? Really, I journal almost every 4 hours.
😍😍😍😍
👌👌👌👌👌
❤☠
So when are you going to build the aft cabin (poop deck)? You do have the area for it. Just a thought.
I just realized i hate boats. That boat isnt small but the sails leave no room for an awning or chairs on the deck, being stuck on waves for 10 to 14 days. At the mercy of nature and in really bad luck if the boat fails, hits a submerged tree or something.
Is there any conversation on weather to cross the pond or not? Hawa-ii beckons.
Are you guys coming up to BLA again this summers ☀️?
Love you guys, thank God you don't have a man bun....
First one, at least in English lol
Garrett. What dingy are you going to build?
Bendiciones...m
No appointments...m
10:34 it's hard to tell. How far did you drift?
What is the Law about Having Firearms on Board?
Mean while 99% us of work for a living contributing to our higher calling called work. You two obviously get a free ride in this life.
Some people do come home from a higher calling job to watch UA-cam that someone else worked for. Sitting in the comfort of their home they take it upon themselves to look down on the people that are “not working” by generating content ( not everyone can tell a story), the exhausting job of editing.
I worked most of my life. I have worked jobs I loved. And some that I hated so much that it affected my health. But if you could have told me when I was 17 that if I just had a life that was entertaining enough to video that I could make a living one day from merchandise, ad revenue and sponsorships. Well I would have told you were crazy.
You couldn’t be more wrong, my friend.
Everything they have they’ve worked for, learned the skills for, cut down the trees and sawn the lumber for.
Redeviva was built and created with their own skills, their own hands, their own backs and their own sweat.
What was bought was from a not particularly sizeable pot of cash that they got from the sale of their previous boat and that was the result of having restored and flipped a succession of previous boats over a few years, done while they were also working other jobs.
They had a goal and through years of damned hard work they’re achieving it.
For you to knock them about their life choices bringing them to where they are now smacks of a level of mean spirited jealousy that speaks volumes more about yourself than about them.
Achieving freedom in life is about choices, goals and possessing the necessary depth of determination to achieve them.
It is also about both grace and kindness.
Life has a funny way of repaying in kind and in equal measure, which is a concept well worth thinking about.
If you wish to change your life it is entirely in your own hands, but dumping on others will not move you one ten thousandth of an inch closer to happiness, it will only perpetuate your own dissatisfaction.
What Dagwood said - it is a helluva lot of work to put out quality, entertaining content on a consistent basis so you can come home from your “higher calling” and sit in your comfy recliner and be entertained!
@@7novalee Life has a habit of rewarding hard work and application, along with grace and kindness.
What you’re watching is exactly that, no silver spoons or vast inheritance, just the results of having had a dream of building a boat themselves and having had the determination to make it real.
Bust your butt for years building your own boat, saving money, learning the boat. Then get called slackers. 🙄☹😖
U R SAILING AROUND WITH NO DINGY, MOTOR THAT NEEDS REPAIRS AND U R DRINKING IN A BAR.
They have friends who can take them back on their dinghy 🥰
Clothing optional days. Don't get Ruth pregnant. That will change your direction. 😮
Born and raised on an Island, I naturally owned several 'used' boats and enjoyed refurbishing and customizing them. At 77, I no longer sail, but enjoy watching 'Build Videos'. I'm sure you are both having a great time, but for me, watching someone else sail about is like watching people drive their cars to different places. I really liked your early videos but the endless sailing isn't my cup of tea... Sorry guys... 😟
If this content seems like watching people drive their cars, then you’re not paying attention. No need to apologize to them for your disappointment. They know who they are and they don’t need your validation. Please, if you have nothing positive to say to such beautiful people, who choose to share their lives with us, then just quietly move on to something else. They are not here to serve your needs.
@@danielkantor3248 I politely inform them that I prefer building to sailing and you think I'm 'apologizing'? I followed them from the beginning and stuck with them till now. But I'm moving on. Being upset for other people is rather cringe...
Can you please ask your " man " yo cut his / her ... Hair... ? It's bad.
Glad I’m not the only one talking to myself, someone teach these birds to talk English. Happy happy happy. Are we at grandmas yet?
Roadrunner eat small mammals, too. They'll kill a rattlesnake by battering them against the ground. They're not cute and cuddly. They're vicious killers. 🩸
👍👍👍👍
Great video
