what trans and transfer case do you have on yours?

This is exactly what I'm wanting to do with my 86 4x4 2 door blazer. Thankful I finally found someone that's done it. My plan is for an early 5.3l or slightly modern 5.7l. my current setup has an 83 model 2.8 with a wc t5 from an 88 Camaro and NP207 t case.

I have a 4x4 blazer with the 2.8l i'm going to be buying a tahoe or similiar as a parts vehicle so i'm hoping to swap the entirety of the drivetrain from that to retain the selectable 4x4. anything wrong with this plan that i'm not aware of?

It has been way to long since I was driving a first gen S10.
I have been wanting to do a similar build for a few years.
I am debating pulling my LS1 and T56 from my 98 Z28 and using it.

Yo, are you in the mood to do an update? I'd love to hear how the build is going.

Thanks for the nudge! I am figuring out the intricacies of the trans, reverse lockout, remote shifter options, etc. Have a few clips filmed, got a new computer so things are moving in the right direction. Still driving it with the 4.3 with 331,000 miles on it. Its not my daily driver, but I have a reason to drive it at least weekly, and thats with my wagon being the preferred vehicle for 10' lengths of material.

@@dieslowlymf Cool, would like to see the progress!
I'm finishing up my all black (4x4), 98', two door jimmy with an awd swap and turbo- rebuilt nv3500. The tranny bolted right up to the awd transfer case, tuning to 8 psi. Sure looks like it's going to work... lmao. Can't wait to see if it was worth it.

@@whitewalls8778 is there anything you did to the nv3500 to make it more reliable to hold up

@@sethwarriner2412 I would have if there was anything available. Cryo treatments are the only upgrade for the nv3500 I've come across that may be available, but I've not found a vendor. In my case I just had it rebuilt.
I have read a few build threads that pushed the (m50) nv3500 way past its factory rated 315 lb ft of torque but all were RWD. For example on s10 forum & youtube there's a guy I think Mark Meyers that pushed his nv3500 to ~450 lb/ft.
I've never heard of anyone putting the syclone transfer case behind one of these transmissions so I don't know what to expect. It may be too much drag on the transmission. If I break it, I will move on to a T56 or something beefier.
      We'll see!

Been trying to do pretty much the same thing. Getting an 05 ctsv engine and trans and was hoping to get that same t-case adapter that you made so that I can make it work in my k10 square body with an np 208. Pretty sure all I would need is the main shaft from a gto, a c5 tail housing, and an adapter that you make. Please let me know if you would be willing to sell me one of those adapters. SUBBED 👌🍻

That list should be it! Dont forget the shifter from Core Shifters, and then whatever driveshafts you'll need. I'm still unsure of the difference in length of this setup vs. my NV3500, so I'm curious to see how that will work out for myself.
