- Final part of the build on my budget-ish cafe racer that started life as a Aspencade. Going over some of the wiring and controls for the bike. Plus a sneak peak at the of the video.
You accomplished a lot that last night. Haha
I’ve watched through this series a few times. I’m currently in the wiring phase of my build and holy hell am I getting over whelmed. However it is quite possible that I am overthinking it.
Yes. Overwhelmed. It's a lot. Find a standard gl wiring diagram then just do one circuit at a time. It was not super fun.
It can be fun, also teaches good patience and self discipline, cause once you pull those wires out you better be ready to put it back or have the money to pay someone else lol Like with climbing a mountain, everyone thinks of just reaching the top, and not the fact that ya still gotta climb back down after lol
@@jrattackkI am currently in the rebuild phase. I just have to list the final touches or and finish some of the fabrication parts. This has been the hardest part thus far
I'm surprised Amazon didn't tell you that 4 different speedometers were frequently bought together. I'm sure that's randomly generated based on items in the same category.
Lol I have seen some strange things frequently bought together. But I did know that the GPS was bulkhead and the gauge was rear bolts. But the pod was full coverage so I went with that, just had to figure out how to make them work together.
@@backwoodscustoms Your solution looks great.
Working on a 84 myself. I’d love to see any more documentation if you have any of how you did the rear suspension, electronic relocating or anything else.
Rear suspension I just winged it. Was a shock and rear swing arm off a 99 Yamaha R6. Wiring I have a Hanes manual and found a standard goldwing wiring diagram and cut out everything that wasn't on the standard. Outside of that, the 4 build video is just about everything I have
Got any rags to stuff into your intakes? Nice project
I did have rags in, but was fitting the carbs for clearance so I had them out.
Thanks, I'm happy with it.
Did you use the stock clutch master cylinder and lever? If not what did you use as an adjacent?
No I used a 16mm bore hydraulic clutch master off eBay. Was like $40 for both clutch and brake master. Seem to be working. Biggest thing to watch for is 7/8 bar size. Most 16mm are 1" bar size
Do you have a buy list for this stuff? I could use a bunch of this. The GPS speedo and the indicator lights, etc.

There's those two, tbh I'm not sure the indicator lights are the best option out there. The LEDs come out of the housing pretty easy. Also pretty direct light kind of suck for night rides.
Lmk what else your after.
I am working on an 82 do you have the wire diagram for it?
Haynes manuals have a non colored diagram. Or I found a 82 standard wiring diagram in color on line just Google goldwing wiring diagram 1982 and look at images.
As a wiring guy, this is a bit hard to watch.
Hahahahaha. It worked anyway. I did end up redoing the rear half off camera a little better.
Also if you think that's bad, you should see the 94 I just picked up, 5x the wiring.lol
