Four sisters over 40 years

- I came across this really awesome photo sequence of the Brown sisters over 40 years and just had to put them together with music. Several others had the same feeling I see.

Music by Mitchell Grant
I'm 80 today, and soon to be 81. I think the same thing. I was a young man, it seems as yesterday.
The years gain speed as we age. I never thought I would be older than my Parents this soon.
You’re not alone on that one Treelover.
True. As we age what happened during younger ages seems to be just happened yesterday.
I'm 24, wish me luck so, I can be 81 one day.
@@sasif1356 You'll cross 100🙌
@@alexmothilal6479 It's not longevity in itself that is singularly important.. What is the quality of one's existence as one ages? And figuring out the purposes? As there certainly is a purpose. That is the question of the ages for us all.
I'm 60 years old now everything seems like yesterday and a thousand years ago all at the same time
I agree. I’m also 60. I can’t figure out where the last 40 years went. Some things feel like they happened yesterday and others like forever ago.
I'm 17, and I'm already missing my childhood. I hope you guys are doing okay.
Yeah no kidding I'm about to retire next year
man where did the time go?
@@reddiamond8136 bruh you still a child. No need to try to hurry up and grow. Live your best at this age cuz believe me you'll be 27 before you know it and even then you still young. There's no meaning for this nonsensical competition you see the youth having. Jus live life.
Life is very very strange. Most people only think about their daily meal and their car. Buying stuff.
I am 69. Longing for the times Nature still was Nature. When the oceans and the air still were clean.
When there was silence and beauty. Hardly any cars. No muSICK in the shops.
When people did talk to each other, looked each other in the eyes...... instead of watching their IPhones........
Those were the days, my friends. They will never come back again.
They stood closer and embraced each other more as the years went by. It’s a beautiful thing. ❤️
*embraced.
@@TallSilentGuy thanks 🤙🏼
I noticed that also. I believe that the red head is the eldest sister. She seems to embrace/shelter/ protect the others. I love this
Exactly that what I saw clearly
They sure did, if you’re fortunate enough to come from a close Family.
Keep it that way.
This could/would NEVER happen to ours.
Cold, distant/unless trying to find dirt to smear.
Family shouldn’t but can be your worst nemesis.
What a blessing that the four of them are still alive. I lost my youngest sister three years ago and miss her every day ❤
I'm so sorry for your loss. After both my parents were dead, there was still a lot of family conflict between myself and my three siblings. Eventually I contacted all of them and wrote "The next family funeral we attend will be for one of us." Since then, we have been in regular friendly contact, from different parts of the world, by letter, by phone and by Zoom meetings. The days of fighting our parents' proxy wars are over.

When they started, there was no hint of internet, smartphones, UA-cam etc.
Yes,.... this AND tracking down Commies. These four ladies didn't grow up in a vacuum.
@@pabloherrera7210 Yes, I'm good. Are you a Commie? If so, I'd say,... the only good Commie is a dead Commie. Ya see, we're in a war, and in a war, you think about war. But, thanks for asking,... just the same.
this is scary and beautiful at the same time, just like truth.
scary because those of us that are young now don't want to age and end up like them
@@Suzuha_Amane perfect explanation
I completely felt the same way....it shows how life just flys by sooo fast. I'm shaking my head as I can't believe I am 55 years old now.
@@disneygirl2302 i'll be 55 too. hope i dont get rekt before xD
@@Suzuha_Amane i don’t care about aging but it’s scary knowing you will have to grow up. maybe because i’m 15 right now that i think that.
Stunning.
As a member of a dysfunctional family, i started to read into their positions in the photos over the years; Their smiles and body language, a story to unravel.
When I stepped back and stopped projecting, all I could see was love.
If you are trying to make me cry it worked....
I saw the first photo and the last photo and I cried because it reminded me of our family. I had totally 12 siblings, three passed away and only 9 of us left, we are very closed just like this family, I am in the sixty our youngest is in his 45, our oldest is 72. Every years we still visit and call to check up on everyone, I have to admit our parent raised us well.
They were/are very lucky to have each other.
I agree
@Robert Stop talking like a Ferengi, they're W O M E N. Not everyone likes to smile in pictures, it's a free world dipshit
So lucky to have each other....I always wished for that for myself.
Indeed 😊😊😊
@Robert Nah, just idiotic misogynists like yourself.
The lack of smiles didn't bother me, this felt more like an "artsy" project to me, you know, black and white pictures and all.
@J. P u need to smile yourself
I would like to believe the at some point while looking back at their smile less photos they deliberately decided not to smile in the rest of their group photos in the coming years to keep the flow
If you look at pictures of your forebears from 100 or so years ago, they didn't smile either. In fact, they all looked as they just came from church where they'd listened to a 90 minute long sermon on Eternal Damnation.
No one told those old farmers to turn those frowns upside down though.
It was done so we could have some reflection on life...the good and difficult times.
If someone could explain why we SHOULD smile when photographed... Or even look at the spectator. If a photo captures the moment when you smile, or if the fact that you're being photographed on th particular moment / place / people around, fine. Otherwise it's pointless - or worse, hypocrit. Anyone can tell a spontaneous smile from a posed one. And a posed smile may conceal other signs of feelings.
I found this enormously touching. No text is necessary to convey how these sisters love each other. What's more, they look like people I'd like to know and befriend.
Its beautiful and yet has a Mona Lisa quality, no fake smiles so it has depth, you can only guess at their private trials, but they remain resolutely sisters. Its beautiful. I hope they are still together.
The amazing thing is that 4 sisters got together for 40 years to take a photo. Sisters fight like hell!
So lucky to be together for 40 years. How i miss two of my elder sisters gone too soon. God bless these four.
I have 4 sisters and we are always happy to get together
@@julianachandler2975 glad to hear! My 2 sisters are total opposites and have fought on and off forever.
Time and circumstances make it almost impossible to do this. I wish I had been able to.
@@julianachandler2975 Same, I have two sisters and I can't remember the last fight.
They are truly blessed. I lost my only sibling when she was 10. That was over 40 years ago. Not a day goes by that I don't miss her.
I'm sorry.
:(
I'm so sorry🥺🥺🥺.. please stay strong🙏🙏🙏
Oh that is so sad, I'm sorry for your loss, I've lost my twin when I was a baby and sometimes I look back and see what it would be like if that twin was older❤️
I can understand your pain😒
A whole lifetime in 3 minutes. And as a 67 year-old, that's exactly what it feels like!
agree 100% , im 56 but think im still 30 ish ,
it's not whole lifetime it's half lifetime but it's insane to think that you could capture your half life in just few minutes I am literally crying 😭
The longest relationship we will ever have in this life is with our siblings. Not our wives, husbands children or parents so it’s wise to cherish and foster it. It is the longest -standing relationship u will have. Double that of your significant others
That is so profound, I never thought of it that way.

Not true, not everyone gets along with their siblings. Some hate each other.
Not necessarily.
I have nine siblings and I pray we will be close for the rest of our lives. They're the best friends I've ever had and likely ever will.
Time has no mercy. It keeps moving forward and drags you along with it whether you like it or not. Live life with no regrets.
Listen to 'Time', Pink Floyd. Listened to it when it came out but didn't take to much notice of the words. Now, 40 year's later the words have a powerful impact.

"Wrinkles means you laughed, grey hair means you cared and scar means you lived"

Proof?
I agree on the wrinkles and scar, but not quite the grey hair.
No wrinkles mean you didn’t use sunscreen, or a hat, grey hair means you are too poor to have your hair colored, and scars mean that you hung out with the wrong people.HA!

I'm 65 now and I'm amazed at how incredibly fast life goes by. I always heard that growing up but you truly don't realize it till it actually has.......
the microwave made me understand just how fast life goes by, heat up a cup of coffee, and 1 minute and 10 seconds of life happens.
Pushing up towards 60 myself and I think its a busy happy fulfilled lifestyle that makes time seem to fly by...I have noticed time waiting in a Dr's waiting room just drags by in comparison.
Having kids is what does it, life just turns into one long groundhog day for about 20 years.
Yes, you notice everyone growing up, getting older. Then suddenly you notice you're on the old side and didn't see it coming. Funny, when you're a kid you think the old people were always that way.
Like someone said, you don't grow old. You just wake up one day to discover you're old.
All still beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes for some reason. ❤.
The photos were lovely…there were no smiles or laughter, but they must all be close if they meet at least every year. I have three brothers I haven’t seen for years. Unfortunately my mother never encouraged loyalty in the family and actually drove wedges between us. She hated it when we were getting on with each other. After my father died when I was 32 the whole family sort of fell apart. She’s 85 now and I haven’t seen her for 25 years and I never want to. Fortunately I have a wonderful husband and son which more than makes up for my previous dysfunctional family.
Good on you to focus on what you HAVE, not on what you did not have. “Wonderful husband and son” DO make up for the past. God’s best to you.
@ Jan Heard : Well, I think someday you would meet them at least once, for you to be truly 100% happy
I would've felt sad if the last picture had only showed three sisters....😟
Me too. This makes me sad anytime i see it
I remember reading an article and one of them did pass away (I believe it was the light-haired one but may be wrong) and that was why they stopped taking the pictures.

That was awesome, watched it twice. Turn 60 in a few weeks, which blows my mind, and passing time is on my mind more than ever. A lot of great memories but would’ve been better with siblings. Thanks for sharing this.
I have 4 sisters, as I watched this, I could see my sisters aging. This brought back beautiful memories I had lost. Thank you for posting a masterpiece of life.
Everyone's saying they are unhappy because they dont smile but NO ONE's saying that some people smile today just to mask their mess up lives on social medias
Deep
U are correct but one side is that the one who even not to dares mask it he never dares to live the pain turning to life.
Many fail to capture the serenity in their glance that they have acquired as they´ve matured and "aged". The whole series of photos points to the fact that they have recognized and accepted the fact that one evolves, and with the assistance of their in-law, left this beautiful testimony of love for sisterhood and life. Grace continue to be in their hearts.
They're smiling on the inside. 😊
Deeeeeeeeeeep
in the eyes of the people who love you, you never age

Very true. My daughter says, “thank goodness for cataracts.” Lol
"You never age,,in fact you look younger everyday,,,,
@@daveh6479 - Lol, my husband says the same thing. That’s looking through the eyes of love.
That's why a lot of our adult kids are surprised when one of their parents dies......
Time is weathered into their aging faces. They are so blessed to still have each other with all their stories.
Notice that as the years go by there is more physical contact. Also the contact is more intimate. In the first few pictures, when they have an arm around one of the others it looks like they are posing but as they get older it looks more like a hug. Also, they bring their faces closer together.
The more years they live together their hugs get tighter.
So my dear humans, we came , live, get old and go away. Why fighting, killing, hates and arguments? Let us live together happily for sometime.
...😅, that was a beautiful statement, very eye opening and so true. Thank you and bless you 🌷
Lovin me some lovin!!!
That is a nice thought but man cannot do this. We have a genetic trait that makes us rebel, fight and in the end destroy each other. Sad but true.
I noticed the hugs got tighter. As we age, we realize we're running out of the time we were given here on earth. In 100 years, someone looking at your gravestone in 2121 will see you were born way back in the 1900s. Much as I look at old unattended graves while visiting my parents. Some were born 'way back' in the 1800s. Life goes on, and time marches on. People that lived in the 1500s probably thought they lived in 'modern' times. Just like someone who lived in the 1990s. How could they miss a smartphone, when it hadn't yet been invented??
Yes yes,very well said!
No one can escape from time, that is why people must remain beautiful inside, in order to survive when beauty goes down the drain

Interesting sequence of photographs on several levels. I enjoyed the music as well. It's a I -VI -IV -V progession in B (B, G#m, E, F#). Nice little 3-note melody over these 4 chords. Simple but apt for the purpose. Thanks for posting this. Very thoughtful.
The most moving part of these pictures is, that they all survived those 40 years ... which is a positive and important aspect to celebrate, no matter what life dealt them through the 40 years!!
From someone who has no sisters, I find these portraits very sweet. My life would be so different if I had just one sister.
