I love it. There's no need for an Escalade when you basically get everything it has in the Yukon. If the regular Yukon is this nice, just imagine what the Denali looks like..
I've got a 96 tahoe and though she is old she still runs and looks great. When I see the new gm suvs it really makes me appreciate the simplicity of the older models the ground clearance and capability they have. It seems like they've gotten larger front ends where the bumper comes down low too low for my taste and they are loaded with a lot of electronics aside from the safety tech that one could perhaps do without. It doesn't help when you hear people that own these complain about them not holding up or being worth the big money they kicked out for them. But again to each their own.
I don't think it's worth that much but I don't think it's garbage either. I would probably buy one used. People can say whatever they want but my family and I have been buying GM trucks for decades now and they have never done us wrong.
I like Nathans reviews the most out of this group. He seems to think the same as i do about a lot of stuff. except that this thing is worth $64k; you can't have fun driving it or make any money with it (service truck, or towing).
I don't get why you complain about the headlights and 4wd switches being the same. Last time I checked everyone leaves their lights on auto. if you had to go into 4wd you would most likely look just to confirm you are in 4 high or in auto or maybe 4 low. So in my opinion it's not a big deal.
When I switched from 2WD to 4WD, the headlights went on. Why? Because the switches/dials feel the same and are inches from each other. It happened in a Chevy Silverado too.
Yeah I get what you are saying but I don't think its that big of a deal. once you know your car or truck itll come nature but anyways that was still a good episode bring on some more reviews like that vs the 0-60 times only.
I am very curious about the adaptive cruse control. Does it stop and start driving in traffic? like the Mercedes system but not as sophisticated. I know that it does not control the steering. TFLcar
Now that Chevy has released the z71 option, can you do a review of the 2015 suburban 4x4 LT z71? I'm interested in how well it off roads or drives in snow sight the six inches of air dam removed up front. Thanks guys!!!
Had to rent one of these in the XL form for a trip with a lot of people and stuff once. The horrible third row seat room is literally the only thing that prevents me from wanting one.
I love to have that but would have to talk that price down a bit although if their build quality and performance has stepped up I guess it would be worth it,but still I've found a ton of nicely built up trucks and SUVs for that amount of money. I can only imagaine what the Denali and Escalade prices will be,but it all depends on what your personal options are and what you can afford. Now for me-I'd go for the Escalade.
Tested the base model and for the money the seats were uncomfortable and found it noisy on the road. I also found the controls unfriendly on the steering wheel and my elbow was always bumping against the middle compartment between driver and passenger. I would like to support nationals but it needs to be reasonable. Those are my two cents
They're thirsty beasts. A friend of mine had a 2011 Yukon Denali and it was getting around 10 MPG (or so I was told). It got to the point where they sold it for a 2010 Expedition, purely because of its horrendous mileage.
Paid 54k for my 2007 Denali XL loaded. Every piece of exterior trim came loose after the warranty expired. Ultimately fixed it myself. Top of the dash cracked in several places. Covered by GM after warranty because a common problem. At about 60,000 miles an intake valve broke at the keeper and trashed the engine. New long block installed under power train warranty. A very capable vehicle but quality was lacking. That was my first GM and likely my last.
I really don't get the need for the GMC brand. Just expand the trim packages on the regular chevys for those wanting a bit more creature comforts, and leave the Cadillac as the luxury marquee. We don't get the GMC nameplate in my neck of the woods, so I'm indifferent to it, and honestly unaware of the history of the brand. Do you Americans feel any strong ties to this brand, or does my initial suggestion make more sense?
Basically GMC is around because it makes a ton of cash. Some GM truck guys like GMC more because it's usually less tacky looking then it's chevy counterpart and it comes with some options the chevys don't such as the 6.2 v8.
The new escalade starts at 72k. I know it would be a base model but even so it would come with a much nicer interior. I was able to sit in one at the auto show and it was way nicer then it's tahoe and yukon sisters. So I would honestly just spend a little more and get the escalade.
Can I drive it 300,000MI with minimum problems and the body stays rust free for ten years. The price may be OK. I have owned two s10 blazers. They both started falling apart around 100,000mi. I love them when there are running. I had to do a lot of repairs to make them last 200,000mi. not worth the $30,000. It seems like most GM's are poorly made.
I freaking love this thing. The only thing that ever held me back from full size SUVs was how incredibly inefficient they were. With this, though, 18-19 realworld mpg is incredible, especially with Nathan driving. The fact that they used real metal on the interior blows me away. But then it would, considering how shitty the past Tahoe/Yukon's interior was. When the updated Expedition comes out, I'll be curious to see how it compares to this. I have to say, though, I definitely prefer the Yukon over the Tahoe for many reasons.
I was impressed with this, too. I remember my first experience with a GM car when I rented a 2007 Cadillac DTS. It was so cheaply made inside that you can press in almost every panel of cheap plastic inside with your finger! Same thing with a 2011 Chevy Traverse. The latest Traverse is much better, however.
Fordguy1997 Oh, come on guys, give GM a break. I mean to say, they've been working hard for ten years trying to fix an ignition switch, and going bankrupt. They haven't had time to concentrate on building decent cars.
MrKeyboardCommando Why should I give GM a break? It's not my problem that they haven't had time to focus on building decent cars. That's the life of an automotive brand for you. All that matters is that they're good quality vehicles now.
I can't say I like it. If I had to choose an SUV in this segment, I'd choose a new Durango hands down. Realistically, I wouldn't want anything this large though.
if u fix the transmission line fitting that makes these things burn The Chevy Silverado 1500, Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Sierra 1500 and Yukon models from the 2014 and 2015 model years are being recalled for a flaw in their transmissions wherein loose oil cooler lines may cause a fire. The automaker said in a statement (see below) that it knows of three incidents of loose transmission lines causing problems, but no injuries. We can't confirm whether it was this transmission issue that caused the widely publicized blaze that consumed a 2015 GMC Yukon that was being test driven in California. www.autoblog.com/2014/03/29/chevy-silverado-tahoe-suburban-cruze-gmc-sierra-yukon-recall/
thats fudging ridiculous, the 2013 denali cost around $64K with that monstrous 6.2 V8, now the price of the yukon is 64k? whats the 2015 denali cost now?
You get what you pay for. Everyone in here tell me how many old tahoes and yukons from the 90's you still see out there? A LOT! These SUVS are reliable, ofcourse like every vehicle they will need service, parts, etc. PLUS, if you have a family this is the car you want your family riding in, these trucks can take hit! Overall, if you have the money go for it!
***** Clearly you haven't done your homework. your denali starts at 2k over the jeep srt starting price. then you would be 50 hp down, you wouldn't have the massive brembo brakes, you would be 500lbs heavier, and be stuck with a 6 speed trans that would disintegrate if you put more than 500hp through it. all in a vehicle designed to take the kids to school and make a loud noise rather than tear up a track. so you go ahead and spend all the money you need to catch up to my jeep, by my calculations it will take you 85 to 90 thousand to do so. have fun with that. The two vehicles are designed for such different purposes you really cant even compare the two.
Went and looked at the 2015 Tahoe this weekend out of curiosity which happened to list for exactly the same as this. I was laughing my ass off at the price. Not a great looking vehicle and the interior was kind of cheap and the seats pretty bad and uncomfortable. I really hate that storage hump in the back also, so annoying. I would rather have an old school Suburban from back in the 90s than one of these new overpriced ones.
Not worth it, it's about $15k over priced. Also a 3.08 axle, a torqueless wonder of a 5.3 gasser, and lack of ground clearance don't exactly make it desirable anymore. Also is the low-range t-case still just an option?
I actually think that comparing this to an escalade ... This gmc would be more offroad sorta to speak . And the escalade is more of a luxurious high class family.
+Brooklyn Bred No, I'm not bitter. There are way better ways to spend $64k on this. Also, I'm only 25 years old, no fucking shit I don't have the funds to purchase this. All I'm saying is that it's overpriced. It's also pretty clear that you've been trolling the piss out of the commenters on this video so I'm not going to argue with you any further.

And what does your being 25 have to do with anything? Stop making excuses and get it together.
I have owned two Chevy Tahoes and rented a brand new Yukon and I can tell you that they are not worth the money, they are not worth half of the price. This was the vehicle that put the nail in the coffin for me, total crap.
Saad Alhowaish although German cars are my favorite. I must say that they don’t have these big SUVs that can tow or haul as much. Also, they have ugly looking SUVs such as the Q7. My brother has a 2 year old GLE and it still has lots of hard plastic and poor soft touch for the price. They also don’t have as many USB ports, a power outlet, and electronic steps.
only on 2014 and older its 64k. New Denali models are 71-81k due to the extra tech like Adaptive cruise control, front sensor and lane departure warning, etc.
Hahaha! My dad used to have an 05' Yukon XL Denali and that thing went through headlight bulbs like pairs of underwear. They weren't cheap to replace either and it seemed like every other full size GM truck on the road had a head light out too.
Hanil Chung Yeah, I think that the 2000-2006 generation of GM full sized trucks were the ones that always burnt through headlights. I haven't really seen any newer ones with burnt out headlights. The newer ones are just a lot more reliable in general
I can't believe how expensive this SUV is, I remember back not all that long ago when a brand new Yukon would cost anywhere from late 20k to late 30k? What the hell is GM thinking? That Americans are doing so well right now, the economy is busting at the seams and we have boat loads of money to piss away on overpriced cars and trucks? Call me crazy, but my prediction is that this truck won't sell very well. I could see a luxury SUV going for that much and I am not saying that this one isn't nice...but 64k? c'mon. GMC is supposed to be affordable utilitarian brand....not one of excess and obnoxious luxury.
I think it's a bit overpriced. Compared to the ford Expedition which starts at around $30. I love GMC trucks my father bought his 2006 Yukon standard for around $26 thousand. But I think this is too much. I'd rather buy a Toyota Land Cruiser VXR than this yukon.
American cars are still American cars... I would never spend a dime again for a domestic brand, I learnt form mine and others mistake. For 64K you can get a nice Toyota Truck or even a premium German vehicle. At least you know these things will last you forever which you can't tell with American brands.
That's a lot of money for a car that only seats 5. Yes. It only seats 5. The 3rd row is 4 inches from the floor. No human over 24 inches can Possibly sit in the 3rd row. ( Fact )
I'am done with the new vehicles, 06 was my last new car fuck em the cost is to high for the quality the quality of the vehicles are getting so cheaply built
So many haters on here. If you got it get it. Picking up mines Friday. I test drove the Escalade and Tahoe and the Yukon is the best.
Brooklyn Bred same we could afford a platinum escalade but this looks best and the interior is simple and not complicated like the escalade
Bro same thing, the Yukon is Both premium suv and something you can take on the mud and it won’t let you down. Best of both worlds
I love it. There's no need for an Escalade when you basically get everything it has in the Yukon. If the regular Yukon is this nice, just imagine what the Denali looks like..
We bought one today for $39k 19k miles bro
I'm looking forward to the Expedition and Navigator reviews later this year!
That was good review, I would say it's one of their best. Good job Nathan!
Worth it. people just hate because of the brand.
Agreed, Its a very good SUV
bignam11 Is this before or after the recall?
MrKeyboardCommando Was that you typing in or outside of the mental facility?
kirbyswarp Most definitely inside. Good God, what do you take me for?
MrKeyboardCommando atleast you have a sense of humor :)
I've got a 96 tahoe and though she is old she still runs and looks great. I thought the same!
Can't wait for you to review the new escalade.
I don't think it's worth that much but I don't think it's garbage either. I would probably buy one used. People can say whatever they want but my family and I have been buying GM trucks for decades now and they have never done us wrong.
If it comes with fire extinguisher then yes, it worth it
I like Nathans reviews the most out of this group. He seems to think the same as i do about a lot of stuff. except that this thing is worth $64k; you can't have fun driving it or make any money with it (service truck, or towing).
So will the compartment behind the screen accommodate a compact 9, LCR, etc... or are we talking about enough room for a full size M&P?
I don't get why you complain about the headlights and 4wd switches being the same. Last time I checked everyone leaves their lights on auto. if you had to go into 4wd you would most likely look just to confirm you are in 4 high or in auto or maybe 4 low. So in my opinion it's not a big deal.

Do you prefer the Chevy Tahoe / Suburban styling?
Yes I do.
What are the major differences between this model and the Yukon Denali?
I am very curious about the adaptive cruse control. Does it stop and start driving in traffic? like the Mercedes system but not as sophisticated. I know that it does not control the steering. TFLcar
i personally would go for the tahoe or suburban but if i were to get the yukon it would have to have the 6.2l. still a fan of both
Now that Chevy has released the z71 option, can you do a review of the 2015 suburban 4x4 LT z71? I'm interested in how well it off roads or drives in snow sight the six inches of air dam removed up front. Thanks guys!!!
It's not the 6.2
It's not the Denali
Yet it costs that much???
Not worth it.
Had to rent one of these in the XL form for a trip with a lot of people and stuff once. The horrible third row seat room is literally the only thing that prevents me from wanting one.
That Yukon looks great in that colour
Oh, and you made the backseat look really awkward..
I love to have that but would have to talk that price down a bit although if their build quality and performance has stepped up I guess it would be worth it,but still I've found a ton of nicely built up trucks and SUVs for that amount of money. Why didn't you show us the rear seat room?
the 2000 yukon denali had an original MSRP of $43,535. Adjusted for inflation, that is around 57k. wow
I really don't get the need for the GMC brand. Just expand the trim packages on the regular chevys for those wanting a bit more creature comforts, and leave the Cadillac as the luxury marquee. "a piece" really? Just stick to the review, please.

***** Yeah, GM really upped the ante lately.
Fordguy1997 Oh, come on guys, give GM a break. I mean to say, they've been working hard for ten years trying to fix an ignition switch, and going bankrupt. They haven't had time to concentrate on building decent cars.

Fordguy1997 Great sarcasm, Ford. ;-)))
I doubt u can hit 22 MPG on highway. I rented a Yukon LT with 2500 miles on it in Canada..doing highways, best mileage was 16 MPG
I can't say I like it. If I had to choose an SUV in this segment, I'd choose a new Durango hands down. Realistically, I wouldn't want anything this large though.
I love Your revwies!! onest and simpel but good! i have bad English sorry hehe.!

5.3 liter producing 355 hp? Have you Americans ever heard of downsizing?
Wouldn't buy that car for 40k
The truck weighs 3 tons, or 4.5 tons with Nathan behind the wheel.
And don't forget he has issues with his knobs.
Scott Wilkins Ah, that explains why he stands with his legs apart. Thank you for clearing up that puzzle. ;-))
thats fudging ridiculous, the 2013 denali cost around $64K with that monstrous 6.2 V8, now the price of the yukon is 64k? whats the 2015 denali cost now?
Wish they made this thing like a truck like it used to be
That price for this 2015 is above my budget. I did find a 2013 Yukon for $26,500 on cars.com. I think I would rather have a 2013 for half the price.
You get what you pay for. Everyone in here tell me how many old tahoes and yukons from the 90's you still see out there? A LOT! No since it just got recalled a couple months are it came out! Lol
waiting for the cadi
Fantastic vehicle.
I think this costs too much. If it was a 6.2 Yukon XL with the same options as this one for the same price, the price would be perfect.
for that money get an srt jeep grand cherokee
***** ummm nope. loaded its low to mid 70s. you are talking US dollars right? i am.
Jeeps are junk I would buy a Yukon with a 6.2 then supercharge it and smoke your jeep and won't have to worry about all those Chrysler prolbems
***** Clearly you haven't done your homework. your denali starts at 2k over the jeep srt starting price. then you would be 50 hp down, you wouldn't have the massive brembo brakes, you would be 500lbs heavier, and be stuck with a 6 speed trans that would disintegrate if you put more than 500hp through it. all in a vehicle designed to take the kids to school and make a loud noise rather than tear up a track. so you go ahead and spend all the money you need to catch up to my jeep, by my calculations it will take you 85 to 90 thousand to do so. have fun with that. wayy too expensive it is in the 60k area should be in the 45k area
You can buy a Porsche cayenne for that price and you can also buy a corvette stingray for the same price
its worth it buy it now
Its just my opinion but i preferred the Cadillac escalade over the Yukon
The sad part about this truck is that it costs $64k and it's not even a Denali. A few years back $64k would get you a loaded Denali.
The sad part is you're obviously bitter because you don't have the funds to purchase one.
+Brooklyn Bred No, I'm not bitter. There are way better ways to spend $64k on this. Also, I'm only 25 years old, no fucking shit I don't have the funds to purchase this. And what does your being 25 have to do with anything? Stop making excuses and get it together.
Not when you can get a platinum F350 for the same or less! Good luck GM!
Better than the previous models but still not good enough to get me to part with that much cash.
I have owned two Chevy Tahoes and rented a brand new Yukon and I can tell you that they are not worth the money, they are not worth half of the price. This was the vehicle that put the nail in the coffin for me, total crap.
I totally agree with you man... I have 2009 Yukon. For this price I will go for German car man.
Isnt that the yukon not the yukon denali. The price is $47k
No that's probably right the new Tahoe/Yukon's are extremely expensive. A Denali would probably be around $72,000
you can get a new yukon denali for 64k .. . and this shit is the slt trim too
yeah but the 2013 looks uglier and cheaper inside and out and has less technology
only on 2014 and older its 64k. New Denali models are 71-81k due to the extra tech like Adaptive cruise control, front sensor and lane departure warning, etc.
Love this truck but to much, can only imagine the Denali cost.
"or in Texas, your gun" xD
first comment totally dig the GMC
Nope, its a nice truck, but it ain't worth it.
Its good but not worthy. And about the land cruiser, it is not only better than the gmc. It is the best suv ever
It would be if it was the 6.2 liter Denali.
Shure. A very, very, small adult.
Remember : under 24"
And Yes, I did go to the showroom.
Not worth it. Especially since you will have a head light out after 2 months on the road.
Hahaha! My dad used to have an 05' Yukon XL Denali and that thing went through headlight bulbs like pairs of underwear. They weren't cheap to replace either and it seemed like every other full size GM truck on the road had a head light out too.
Hanil Chung
Yeah, I think that the 2000-2006 generation of GM full sized trucks were the ones that always burnt through headlights. I haven't really seen any newer ones with burnt out headlights. The newer ones are just a lot more reliable in general
97I30T I haven't had any problems with headlights on my '03. However, the little running lights did go out many years ago...
it doesnot worth 64$
i would to pick landcruiser or any german SUV
the only german suv is the G class; everything else is a pretender crossover
Even the land cruiser?!!!!
I could see a luxury SUV going for that much and I am not saying that this one isn't nice...but 64k? c'mon. GMC is supposed to be affordable utilitarian brand....not one of excess and obnoxious luxury.
Spoken like a true broke ass. Wah it's too expensive and out of my price range. Stfu
I think it's a bit overpriced. Compared to the ford Expedition which starts at around $30. I love GMC trucks my father bought his 2006 Yukon standard for around $26 thousand. But I think this is too much. I'd rather buy a Toyota Land Cruiser VXR than this yukon.
Buy a two year old for a third of the price, this is not worth 64k. You are out of your mind if you buy one.
He look sooooo mutch better than the Tahoe haha
have the say..... No...but i like the car :)
if you draw a rectangle and then some squares in the rectabgle you get this car no styling at all
Nate is a great reviewer! He needs to watch his diet or exercise more. He has a huge bun in the oven!
He is probably really happy though!
GM has gone crazy with their pricing, great vehicle. Too much though. It should be atleast 10k cheaper
i think it starts at $50,000
GMC 2015 تطور مذهل ولكن السعر مبالغ فيه كثيراً .
i loved the 2000 to 2006 denali xl these new ones dnt look special
Dream car
American cars are still American cars... I would never spend a dime again for a domestic brand, I learnt form mine and others mistake. For 64K you can get a nice Toyota Truck or even a premium German vehicle. At least you know these things will last you forever which you can't tell with American brands.
With 64k I'd rather get a Cadillac
Alex M. Those are 95k
leasing cars is the pay-day-lender of the middle class. Leasing this car is absolutely absurd.
wheres the tahoe its not getting no love best looking in my opinion
Its woth 46k not 64k
yeah I'll stick with a range rover or a G63
I want bat GMC yukon
64k + ? Not worth it.
Chevys have good resale value fords do not you get what you pay for
You are completely clueless.
70k for Denali
bro its a butituy the yukon and the tahoe and the esclade
Lexus lx570 kills this and the Caddy
If it was supercharged or turbocharged. ....FUCK YES!!!....but it's not so FUCK NO!!!
That's a lot of money for a car that only seats 5. Yes. It only seats 5. The 3rd row is 4 inches from the floor. No human over 24 inches can Possibly sit in the 3rd row. ( Fact )
I'm 5 10 and I fit fine
Awesome
I could buy a dodge Durango for half the price
Only problem is that you'd be stuck with a dodge durango.
92ASC who cares? 64k is obnoxious? I would expect an escalade to cost around that figure
I'am done with the new vehicles, 06 was my last new car fuck em the cost is to high for the quality the quality of the vehicles are getting so cheaply built
