    So many haters on here. If you got it get it. Picking up mines Friday. I test drove the Escalade and Tahoe and the Yukon is the best.

      Bro same thing, the Yukon is Both premium suv and something you can take on the mud and it won’t let you down. Best of both worlds

    I love it. There's no need for an Escalade when you basically get everything it has in the Yukon. If the regular Yukon is this nice, just imagine what the Denali looks like..

    I've got a 96 tahoe and though she is old she still runs and looks great. When I see the new gm suvs it really makes me appreciate the simplicity of the older models the ground clearance and capability they have. It seems like they've gotten larger front ends where the bumper comes down low too low for my taste and they are loaded with a lot of electronics aside from the safety tech that one could perhaps do without. It doesn't help when you hear people that own these complain about them not holding up or being worth the big money they kicked out for them. But again to each their own.

    I don't think it's worth that much but I don't think it's garbage either. I would probably buy one used. People can say whatever they want but my family and I have been buying GM trucks for decades now and they have never done us wrong.

    I like Nathans reviews the most out of this group. He seems to think the same as i do about a lot of stuff. except that this thing is worth $64k; you can't have fun driving it or make any money with it (service truck, or towing).

    So will the compartment behind the screen accommodate a compact 9, LCR, etc... or are we talking about enough room for a full size M&P?

  • @hnaser3
    @hnaser3 10 років тому +4

    I don't get why you complain about the headlights and 4wd switches being the same. Last time I checked everyone leaves their lights on auto. if you had to go into 4wd you would most likely look just to confirm you are in 4 high or in auto or maybe 4 low. So in my opinion it's not a big deal.

    • @NathanDAdlen
      @NathanDAdlen 10 років тому +1

      When I switched from 2WD to 4WD, the headlights went on. Why? Because the switches/dials feel the same and are inches from each other. It happened in a Chevy Silverado too.

    • @hnaser3
      @hnaser3 10 років тому +2

      Yeah I get what you are saying but I don't think its that big of a deal. once you know your car or truck itll come nature but anyways that was still a good episode bring on some more reviews like that vs the 0-60 times only.

    I love to have that but would have to talk that price down a bit although if their build quality and performance has stepped up I guess it would be worth it,but still I've found a ton of nicely built up trucks and SUVs for that amount of money. I can only imagaine what the Denali and Escalade prices will be,but it all depends on what your personal options are and what you can afford. Now for me-I'd go for the Escalade.

  • @josemarino4270

    Tested the base model and for the money the seats were uncomfortable and found it noisy on the road. I also found the controls unfriendly on the steering wheel and my elbow was always bumping against the middle compartment between driver and passenger. I would like to support nationals but it needs to be reasonable.
    Those are my two cents

    They're thirsty beasts. A friend of mine had a 2011 Yukon Denali and it was getting around 10 MPG (or so I was told). It got to the point where they sold it for a 2010 Expedition, purely because of its horrendous mileage.

    Paid 54k for my 2007 Denali XL loaded. Every piece of exterior trim came loose after the warranty expired. Ultimately fixed it myself. Top of the dash cracked in several places. Covered by GM after warranty because a common problem. At about 60,000 miles an intake valve broke at the keeper and trashed the engine. New long block installed under power train warranty. A very capable vehicle but quality was lacking. That was my first GM and likely my last.

  • @h3runs
    @h3runs 10 років тому +1

    I really don't get the need for the GMC brand. Just expand the trim packages on the regular chevys for those wanting a bit more creature comforts, and leave the Cadillac as the luxury marquee. We don't get the GMC nameplate in my neck of the woods, so I'm indifferent to it, and honestly unaware of the history of the brand. Do you Americans feel any strong ties to this brand, or does my initial suggestion make more sense?

    • @chrissutera7769
      @chrissutera7769 10 років тому

      Basically GMC is around because it makes a ton of cash. Some GM truck guys like GMC more because it's usually less tacky looking then it's chevy counterpart and it comes with some options the chevys don't such as the 6.2 v8.

    The new escalade starts at 72k. I know it would be a base model but even so it would come with a much nicer interior. I was able to sit in one at the auto show and it was way nicer then it's tahoe and yukon sisters. So I would honestly just spend a little more and get the escalade.

    Can I drive it 300,000MI with minimum problems and the body stays rust free for ten years. The price may be OK. I have owned two s10 blazers. They both started falling apart around 100,000mi. I love them when there are running. I had to do a lot of repairs to make them last 200,000mi. not worth the $30,000. It seems like most GM's are poorly made.

  • @Fordguy1997
    @Fordguy1997 10 років тому +1

    I freaking love this thing. The only thing that ever held me back from full size SUVs was how incredibly inefficient they were. With this, though, 18-19 realworld mpg is incredible, especially with Nathan driving. The fact that they used real metal on the interior blows me away. But then it would, considering how shitty the past Tahoe/Yukon's interior was. When the updated Expedition comes out, I'll be curious to see how it compares to this. I have to say, though, I definitely prefer the Yukon over the Tahoe for many reasons.

      I was impressed with this, too. I remember my first experience with a GM car when I rented a 2007 Cadillac DTS. It was so cheaply made inside that you can press in almost every panel of cheap plastic inside with your finger! Same thing with a 2011 Chevy Traverse. The latest Traverse is much better, however.

    if u fix the transmission line fitting that makes these things burn
    The Chevy Silverado 1500, Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Sierra 1500 and Yukon models from the 2014 and 2015 model years are being recalled for a flaw in their transmissions wherein loose oil cooler lines may cause a fire. The automaker said in a statement (see below) that it knows of three incidents of loose transmission lines causing problems, but no injuries. We can't confirm whether it was this transmission issue that caused the widely publicized blaze that consumed a 2015 GMC Yukon that was being test driven in California.

    You get what you pay for. Everyone in here tell me how many old tahoes and yukons from the 90's you still see out there? A LOT! These SUVS are reliable, ofcourse like every vehicle they will need service, parts, etc. PLUS, if you have a family this is the car you want your family riding in, these trucks can take hit! • @jasonmosler
      @jasonmosler 10 років тому +1

      ***** Clearly you haven't done your homework. your denali starts at 2k over the jeep srt starting price. then you would be 50 hp down, you wouldn't have the massive brembo brakes, you would be 500lbs heavier, and be stuck with a 6 speed trans that would disintegrate if you put more than 500hp through it. all in a vehicle designed to take the kids to school and make a loud noise rather than tear up a track. so you go ahead and spend all the money you need to catch up to my jeep, by my calculations it will take you 85 to 90 thousand to do so. have fun with that. The two vehicles are designed for such different purposes you really cant even compare the two.

    Went and looked at the 2015 Tahoe this weekend out of curiosity which happened to list for exactly the same as this. I was laughing my ass off at the price. Not a great looking vehicle and the interior was kind of cheap and the seats pretty bad and uncomfortable. I really hate that storage hump in the back also, so annoying. I would rather have an old school Suburban from back in the 90s than one of these new overpriced ones.

    Not worth it, it's about $15k over priced. Also a 3.08 axle, a torqueless wonder of a 5.3 gasser, and lack of ground clearance don't exactly make it desirable anymore. Also is the low-range t-case still just an option?

      Saad Alhowaish although German cars are my favorite. I must say that they don’t have these big SUVs that can tow or haul as much. Also, they have ugly looking SUVs such as the Q7. My brother has a 2 year old GLE and it still has lots of hard plastic and poor soft touch for the price. They also don’t have as many USB ports, a power outlet, and electronic steps.

    I can't believe how expensive this SUV is, I remember back not all that long ago when a brand new Yukon would cost anywhere from late 20k to late 30k? What the hell is GM thinking? That Americans are doing so well right now, the economy is busting at the seams and we have boat loads of money to piss away on overpriced cars and trucks? Call me crazy, but my prediction is that this truck won't sell very well.
    I could see a luxury SUV going for that much and I am not saying that this one isn't nice...but 64k? c'mon. GMC is supposed to be affordable utilitarian brand....not one of excess and obnoxious luxury.

    I think it's a bit overpriced. Compared to the ford Expedition which starts at around $30. I love GMC trucks my father bought his 2006 Yukon standard for around $26 thousand. But I think this is too much. I'd rather buy a Toyota Land Cruiser VXR than this yukon.

    Buy a two year old for a third of the price, this is not worth 64k. You are out of your mind if you buy one.

    American cars are still American cars... I would never spend a dime again for a domestic brand, I learnt form mine and others mistake. For 64K you can get a nice Toyota Truck or even a premium German vehicle. At least you know these things will last you forever which you can't tell with American brands.
