What was once thought to be a dying segment, GM pumps some much needed life into the full-size truck based SUV market with their redesigned 2015 GMC Yukon and Chevrolet Tahoe twins. Based on the impressive new Silverado/Sierra platform, these new trucks offer a presence that simply cannot be matched by smaller crossovers. - Авто та транспорт
It amazes me how many people have commented on how they can't understand why someone would want one of these "gigantic", "massive" or "huge" vehicles.... Do you have kids? Do you travel? Do you go anywhere? For those of us who answer yes to any or all of these questions, there is nothing better out there for family travel than a full-sized SUV. We own a Grand Caravan right now and are hoping to buy an XL model in the near future. When we travel with our 4 kids, we pack the Grand Caravan out. We also live in the mid-west and get lots of bad weather & snow in the winter time. I like having the 4 wheel drive available to me. I also like the safety of knowing that I am in one of the biggest vehicles on the road. If you want to drive a Prius or a Smart Car, go for it! We choose to drive larger vehicles. It is what it is.
I agree. We have 4 kids. We test drove it. We are getting the Lincoln Navigator after driving the Yukons and Tahoes. Visually I thought the Yukon and Tahoe was nice inside and out. Rear seat is not good for bigger kids or adults in the Yukon or Tahoe where the Navigator definitely does. The floor height is cramped with the solid rear axle underneath in the Yukon and Tahoe, where in the Navigator your feet are not cramped because the Navigator has rear independent suspension. The Yukon and Tahoe doesn't have independent rear suspension so when you drive you notice that the vehicle doesn't have as good of a ride as the Navigator. Steering the Yukon and Tahoe took way more work but I did like the thick steering wheel where the Navigator steered effortlessly. Gas pedal on the Small V8 is so restricted to try and get good gas mileage. The 6.2 was well powered and didn't have the same lethargic gas pedal but on the Lincoln Navigator the throttle response was not just amazing but powerful across a larger power-band. I don't think the 6.2 would win zero to 60 nor do I think the 6.2 could out pull a full trailer as well.
I'm confused. What does a mini van have to do with my test drive review for the large SUV's available for 2015? Are you saying mini vans are good or bad? Are you saying Full Size SUV's are unsafe?
***** You sure do make a lot of assumptions about me. Just because I chose not to buy an Odyssey, I am ignorant and haven't done research? You have no idea what kind of research I have done. You have no idea what kind of driver I am or that I have been around large vehicles my entire life since I come from a larger family myself. I'm not sure what my owning of a Grand Caravan has to do with this discussion. I would say the same thing if I owned an Odyssey or any other mini-van or any other mid-size or smaller SUV. I gave my opinion based on my experience of owning and driving different larger vehicles including Expeditions, Tahoes, Suburbans, 15 passenger vans etc. As I said in my original post, you are free to drive whatever vehicle you choose. If the Odyssey is your cup of tea, go for it! For the driving that we do and in my experience, I will take my Yukon XL Denali any day over most any other vehicle on the market for my family.
I'd rather have an SUV than a mini-van. We still haul our kids around: one goes to college and needs the space for transporting physics books and art projects. The other child likes room to lay down safely for a nap to and from middle school! The once a month trip to Costco is a must for cargo space. But we're probably going to go for the Escalade.
It's still fucking huge. What about a Q7? Or a GL? Or a X5? Or an Escalade? Those are big-ass cars. I mean you can easely fit 3 fathers of mine in the back of any of that, and my father has like 1.7 and 100 kilos. Not to mention it's ugly( the car, not my father).
Offtopic: why do people make more than 2 kids? Seriously, you have a satisfaction in raising kids? I don't want to be an ass or something, but we're 7.4 billion and not showing signs of decreasing.
I'm not that truck/SUV guy but this thing seems like an instant get. My God..it looks awesome!
I love your realness in these reviews!
10:29 "i dont watch that of course" dont lie man, just man up and own it.
Lol
I always drove Germans cars from S classes to MLs most recently I traded in my 2011 ml63 amg for a 2016 Denali and I'll tell you I love this car the space is great so many features and that 6.2 v8 is awesome! Great job GM!
Amir how is it speed wise?
In my opinion Your reviews are the best. I always know what to expect and You always show what is the most important
I have to say that the Yukon is better than the Cadillac.. It has the same features engine transmission etc. And the interior is not complicated like the Escalade.. The escalade uses a touch sensitive center console that is overly complicated and requires atleast 2-3 presses on some buttons for it to work.. I test drove all the new GM SUV's (Tahoe LTZ, Yukon Denali, Escalade) and the Yukon Denali is the one that stuck out as the best..
Jonathan Ray Pereira which is the more comfy ???
If you were a full-size man, this wouldn't seem like such a gigantic vehicle. I'm so sick of people saying these vehicles are "dinosaurs". It's stupid to say that -- my city is littered with full-size truck based SUVs.
And for everyone griping about how you can get a Merc GL450 for the price of a Denali, do me a favor and price out a GL450 with all the options on a $73,000 4x4 Denali and let me know how much more it will cost.
And yes, I have a 2015 Yukon Denali 4x4 on order. I hunt, fish, farm, play guitar in a band with a ton of gear, camp, tow boats and trailors loaded with tractors, and need something I can load my family and all of our beach gear in for vacations. Find me a vehicle that fits me better than this one.
I agree I mean this SUV in someway has been around since the 1930's they are amazing I hope that they will never stop making them.
Man I could not agree more with you, more the vehicle is for certain applications and it serves those needs well(I have a Suburban)for the lil guy to compare this vehicle to a damn Acadia just shows how clueless he is.Certainly he wonders why Corvettes don't have good TOWING capabilities?SMH!!
You couldn't have said it better
i agree
im a 6 foot 4
i can fit in my gti fine, but im still looking for something big as well as for my family
and a nice suv is a fine choice
plus the gl450 doesn't have hauling power nor the hp for the money
as you said "all the options"
the yukon denali gives you 420hp v8 (same in the escalade), over 8000lb towing capacity and more cargo room with the xl trim
people complaining about prices, but hey go on ebay and you'll see prices dropping to around 65k or less for these suvs
the miata should suit you well
Your reviews are excellent! Very concise and informative. Thanks.
Geez this Guy is thorough!... SUBSCRIBED!
Very informative. I like his reviews.
This guy is like a machine. I've never seen or heard anyone talk so much.
Although amazingly everything he says is relevant.
Great SUV. I owned Yukon XL Denali for 10 years. Now I have Escalade ESV. Great vehicles.
I just ordered one of these can’t wait to get it delivered next week 😍😍
Good review, thanks.
That storage compartment behind the screen is for your glock
and cocaine.
Glock 43 maybe. Won't fit my 19 tho. ;-)
truth
😐
Yes!
Excellent review
I'm getting my wife this instead of a anniversary ring.
Do It I Highly Recommend It. I myself have one and it’s amazing
Or a rifle
NinoValley shooting choice !!!!
I love the room and the versatility you get for big dude like me 6'4 it's perfect was a ford fan but the quality is not there for and have been looking at gmc suvs
Whats the name of the beat playing at the beginning?
i love how all of your videos are in rock creek park...fun drive...i miss home
Just can't get enough of the crossover of the same time in my life
The prices for these things are flabberghastingly big.. Gotta admit that I see them all over where I live. That is a whole lotta bread for a vehicle.
J Thom you absolutely correct man and that's a whole lotta bread for that SUV, But it's a nice SUV, but expensive.
Body on frame all day everyday I don't care for the car based SUVs I'm glad that they made them and I hope that they never stop making them "AND THEY NOT DINOSAURS".
What is the music in the beginning of this video?
How are your feelings on the 2018 expedition or navigator?
This Denali looks amazing and the interior is amazing, on par with the escalade and its other competitors. The only issue with this truck is the live rear axle. If this truck only had the independent rear it would have a much more comfortable and more usable third row seat without having to go for the XL.The Durango and GL both have very comfortable third row seats. This vehicle is bigger than both so it should be able to offer a full size third row. For me the third row is not something I would be using a lot but just being able to have a somewhat comfortable third row would be nice. Anyways this truck is still awesome.
hhheeyyyy am curious to wat beat that was in the beginning of the video? was lovin it would like to download it so that i may listen to it
LOVE my Denali. I have been in just about every luxury SUV out there. As far as comfort on long road trips, my Denali takes the cake. Was considering Lexus, BMW and LR4, this was by far best bang for your buck!!

While I've always enjoyed your reviews, and am a loyal subscriber but you need to realize what you're driving and what it's intended for. We totally get that it may not be your cup of tea - yet, leave some room to be openminded. If you travel a lot these are such a welcome sight when one is sent for you by a livery service. I live in Houston, a city of almost 6,000,000 and these are everywhere. In NYC they have all but replaced Town Cars and gratefully so by the patrons. Same in Los Angeles. A truck of this heft shouldn't be hot-footed around, but driven in a relaxed manner; enjoying the commanding views, room and comfort it affords. To stomp it around that way would be akin to the pilot of a Boeing 747 doing barrel rolls in it. Lastly, this segment will always be around, in one iteration or another. Crossovers have their place but definitely don't fill this niche. Thanks for your coverage. (c:
Not my cup of tea, but I like this vehicle. It's big, powerful and unapologetic. It looks very nice and flashy. And it's useful on top of all that. More power to those who'll buy it.
I work for GM and one of these came in yesterday with an all wheel drive issue, car didn't have 5000 km's on it. But I do like it.
Wow. Just Beautiful. I really like the Yukon as well.
thanks for giving information of gmc
Mmmm...love that color. Awesome truck
6:10 that’s where your gun goes
WOW! This is a beast!
Hello there .. Good review bro .. Can I ask you .. What is the name of the music at the beginning of the video ??
Great review of this huge SUV. It'd be great if you got to review the BMW X1 in both engine options, especially the 35i. It seems to be a great driver's car despite being their least expensive offering.
My mom has one and I love it and my mom is very small and the car is HUGE
Please tell me which one is better yukon denali or the tahoe?
LOL it was very funny when you show the TV in the back and the Muppet's came on LOL!!
what u buy the more exspensive mercs and lex for , the name ...?
Why is that people that can't afford the gas on cars call them outdated useless dinosaurs
*****
I always check gasbuddy.com and use the Trip Cost Calculator to see how much it actually would cost to run the cars I am comparing to the places I usually drive. It gives you how much gas in dollars you would be using based on prices in the area you are in. I have found that because this car uses regular fuel it compares really well with the Touareg Diesel and other vehicles I match against this. That gives you a better idea about how much it will actually cost you. I have found that it compares well with cars that require premium or diesel due to the cost of those fuels so it is a good idea to not just take the mileage and fuel type into the equation.
The same people who buy these little things that look like golf carts and wonder why they are not good in crash tests
***** and they SUCK!!
they can't argue about gas anymore
now that gas has reached under $2 a gallon ..ahaha
$1.92 in Milwaukee, the misses and myself are getting a 2011 Tahoe this weekend!
This truck is a beast... You don't know until you own one and drive it yourself. Everything else is an opinions. Rather new or used it's worth the money if you are into one.
Love your reviews! Dude you should do a review on a Tesla Model S. I'd love to hear your thoughts on that incredible "tablet" center interface.
The swag is real with this one
The best looking SUV on the road today.
Motorweek just chose this platform as one of their Top Picks of 2015!
Beautiful ass truck, drove one the other day, roomy and comfortable . Center console is beautiful, you feel like in a spacious cocoon.
The 2015.5 for the Denali will feature the hands free lift gate which is found in the 2015 Premium Escalade along with 4G LTE hotspot and smartphone wireless charging mat. Also there will be a standard 8 speed transmission.
You guys have a 4g TL camera car?
what was the song in the beginning? i need to know
how you only have automatic down in the rear windows?
these cars should NEVER die
I love how he said, " I dont watch that" i laughed really hard.
Same hahahaha
Really enjoyed the detailed review. Of all of the luxury big suv's, which one is the biggest bang for the buck?
This truck it's a Statement.
What is that instrumental? Can you provide a link?
To all the Europeans asking "Why?" MURICA!
MrGovenator1 Lmao yet your profile picture is an Italian car!
Murica is fucking huge
When is the SS variant coming out?!?
Is there going to be a review of the 2015 Cadillac escalade?
As an owner of a previous generation GM full sized SUV, I can honestly say that this new model is world's better in terms of everyday usability and convenience, but it is NOT worth the huge increase in price. Similar money buys so much more.
can u plz suggest somthing better. thank u in advance
Everything nowadays is ridiculously expensive. A loaded up Camry is about 40k now. New cars have endless tech and features now. I went to the DC Auto Show this afternoon and test drove a loaded 18' Kia Stinger TT6 that was really nice. We're living in an era where a Kia (the one I tested) is $50 GRAND!!! Let that sink in, it's a sign of the times.
Thats why you buy a lease return vehicle and save like $8,000.
I’m a single person and love driving SUVS idk why lol
I really like your reviews. Can you do the expedition next please, I would like to see the difference from Chevy and Ford
Not bad!! I still would take a 07-14 denali but this current one defiantly striking
Also, please make a review on the ct6
what is the song name?
How big is this compared to a 2014 Chevy Tahoe LTZ, and 2015 Canyon? What's the biggest to the smallest please respond anyone!
Come check one out at Jeanotte GMC. Plymourhth, Mich 48170. More room than Tahoe; much better on shoulders, elbows, storage, luggage, leg room. XL is like Suburban towing.
Epic Jameson the seats are laughably small, they look like dinky little lawn chairs, I was super disappointed because I wanted to get one, but that goes for all the GM truck/SUV's, unless your a small person then it wont matter
You are going to do gmcs sle slt and denali
Hey, can you please review the GMC Terrain. Wanted a in depth review of it that I can trust and I definitely respect you reviews. Its a vehicle I am thinking about purchasing. Thanks for the consideration in advance!
Can I get a right hand drive version of this car?
This is a graphite purple color?
Curious if you experienced any buffeting/pressure noises in this vehicle during your testing? Like a window was cracked riding down the road (except all windows are up)...We just picked up a 2016 Yukon XL Denali and it is borderline painful. Curious if you guys dealt with it at all or have heard about it. Check this out - www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/162779-2015-yukon-noise-in-cabin/ and you will see the issue is snowballing quickly.
If you can try and get the 175 HP Chrysler/Dodge minivan also comes with a 280 if I recall. Just want to see what you think about the 175 hp in the minivan to be honest I thought it was under powered.
Gm did announce that the gonna make 360 camera probably mid cycle 2015s or early 2016s
Looks good.
How do you uptade the intelink
AWESOME CAR !!
Is the color Amethyst or Iridium?
Great truck
Is it made in right hand drive, for other countries?
Being I don't think its sold in other country's no
tyler boyer It's sold in other countries, well Suburban and Escalade and they are available in LH drive markets, Europe, Middle East, Africa and numerous countries in those markets. They actually have a GM Plant in Russia that builds them too
I wanna ask what car/SUV/Crossover/Truck may you own.
Wow. You're really overlooking the towing factor in this truck's appeal. These vehicles, especially the xl versions wear many hats. Not all of humanity lives in suburbs and cities either. I can tow 8000+ lbs with this (prefer the longer wheelbase xl for more towing stability). I can go lightly off road with this. I can show up in the most refined areas of life in this and it wears that hat effortlessly too. Although my other car is a hybrid, and I really appreciate that in many many ways, my 110 acre property, hilly gravel roads, horses, and big city job demand this sort of utility. #noteveryoneislikeyou
GM and Ford are actually working together on 9 and 10 speed automatics. So far I've heard the 10 speed will be for RWD applications and the 9 speed for FWD.
Why not just use a cvt then?
I hate cats with so many gears, they are constantly "AAAAHH, huum, aaah, humm, aaah, huuum"
It really drives me nuts...
Bruno Danese and CVT is constantly "uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"
It really drives me nuts...
matraks224 I hate the cvt's
Bruno Danese CVT's are terrible. They sound like a microwave and are more expensive to fix when they break. They arent good for hauling and towing either. So you can keep your CVT, I'll stick with regular autos
NOLAItsNotOva Do you really think a NINE speed gearbox would be any cheaper to fix?
What is the song at the begining????
Sofyan a video of land cruiser 2014 or 15 please
Beautiful SUV.
My parents just bought one lol. Its nice for what it is.
dude you know your stuff.
GM and cheve cars are getting better every year , last year I would buy land cruiser VXR over yukon , but now .. yukon all the way , I hope I can afford it next year.
Redline is a fitting name for this review. lol I'm curious to see the average fuel economy on this trip.
10:24 hahhahahaha love the disclaimer there...
would get this over the escalade and tahoe. best looking yukon to date.
Hope to see you review the 2014 Dodge Durango with the new ZF 8-Speed Auto soon;)
More like 5.8 seconds, motor trend did like 5.5 sec with the 1 foot rollout and 14.2 @99 mph . 7.5 lol those are 5.3L 0-60 times
I think some people probably would go for the xl model for the space it has way more space than the Acadia/traverse. Even tho it is bigger but the drivers would more than likely get use to it.
It's a great full-size SUV
You should test the navigator
Nice review ! what this music truck? it is nice
A really notable incident happened with one of these, in the city I live in, it caught fire on a test drive.
