So glad you’re a bookworm just like me! I often feel guilty for not reading as much as I used to - unfortunately Netflix has taken over 🙈🙈😂😂 but when I get the chance I love to read as often as I can. My favourite authors are Sophie Kinsella, Lindsey Kelk and Sarah Morgan. I set aside one day a week where I read for an hour.

This makes me so happy!! I'm someone who's such a book worm, always have been always will. And I basically only watch Booktube anymore here on UA-cam because it's just the content I love and makes me happy. Reading is truly the best form of escapism

Ahhh, you're positively glowing Meg 😍 Now in all honesty it's been awhile since I've sat down with a cup of tea to watch and comment on one of your videos (honestly I've missed you) but I couldn't resist one about books...I actually put my book down to watch it. Not too big a deal seeing as I only bought it today and have yet to open it though, I am definitely gonna check out "One Day" and "The Couple Next Door" both sound incredible once I've started and finished "Filter This". I also love how much you hype up libraries they are just amazing aren't they? I rejoined my local one recently and I love going in there for even a browse, there's no way to describe how at home I feel there, plus my library is part of this app called BorrowBox which has thousands upon thousands of audiobooks and ebooks, audiobooks weren't necessarily my thing but after listening to enough of them I think they're a god send. I've got "The Subtle Art Of Not Giving a F**k" reserved and I'm full on buzzing for it. I'd love to reccomend an Irish series to you, the Aisling trilogy by Sarah Breen and Emer McLysaght. There's "Oh My God What A Complete Aisling" "The Importance of Being Aisling" and "Once Twice Three Times An Aisling" hat came out last Thursday and I finished last night. There about this girl named Aisling and her ups and downs with love, work, friends and family, there's just something so nice about them that I sped through all three books and can't wait till Sarah and Emer write the fourth. Aisling is such a lovely character and so is nearly everyone in the books which to be honest are packed to the brim with Irishisms so once you get used to the insane spelling of Sadbh and get used to our slang I'd say you'd love the books. I hope you make more book videos Meg, they might be my favourite type x

I'm a book worm (does the moves) too and even though more and more people are starting out booktubes and so on, it's still so lovely to discover bookworms in channels i know and love like yours. I loved One Day by David Nicholls, have you seen the film too?

If you haven’t read ‘call me by your name’ you have too !! It’s one of the most beautiful books I have ever read, truly moving and heartbreaking, I cannot recommend it enough to anyone! Other favourites of mine are ‘can you keep a secret’ by Sophie kinsella (I’ve read it countless times and adore it more every time)! Or ‘Eleanor and Park’ !!’ I’m a sucker for a happy ending x
I absolutely love CMBYN - I actually talked about it in this video when I was filming earlier today but I waffled on soooo much and it made the video extra long, and I thought 'why have I gone off on such a big tangent' so I just cut it out haha, rest assured though I'm on the same lines as you, I'd recommend it to everyone! One of the most beautiful books I've ever read. Ah Sophie Kinsella was one of my faves when I was younger 😍 thanks for the rec, and for watching! Appreciate it so much x

Forgot to add in my last comment - the Becoming audiobook was so much easier to get into than the physical book! I’m not usually an audiobook lover because I don’t get the same thrill out of it as I do from turning the page of a book (lol lame), but something about Michelle Obama reading her own story made me fall in love with it. There’s an app called Libby which is part of the library service and they have tons of free audiobooks and ebooks, so I used that to listen to it ☺️
SUCH a good idea, I'm 100% going to listen to the audiobook as I'm really struggling to get into the actual book. I think hearing Michelle's voice would really help :) amazing, thank you! x
Hi Meg! Thanks so much for this - I skimmed through it originally as lots of things were happening but always intended to come back and listen properly - so glad I did - I thoroughly enjoyed it! I love books but feel like there isn't enough time to read as many as I'd like! I definitely want to read some of these though. Have you read The Hiding Place by John Burley? I really enjoyed it. I love thrillers though not overly keen on horrors. Anyway, thank you once again and I look forward to any more you want to do x

I absolutely love libraries (my dream is to be a librarian when I am well enough to work) and many of them do so much more than just lending books. They are great if you have children as often there are events in the holidays and they do classes for helping people with technology and finding jobs etc.
But currently I get most of my books from charity shops. I have so many books and I donate the ones I've read, but when there are so many amazing books available for 50p it's hard to control my impulse to buy more.
Same here, it was always my childhood dream to be a librarian as one of the jobs I wanted to do! Would love to be one someday :) absolutely, they're just such a dream and brilliant for so many different people within communities. Yay for charity shops, I do excited squeals whenever I see one that's on my list - it's easy to think they won't have any current/popular reads but that's so untrue, I always find something! x

Hehe, you are the only person I follow on youtube you ISN'T a booktuber, so I LOVED your book reviews! And I collect library cards, a library is definitely one of my favourite places to be! :) Thank you for the suggestions, I'm going to grab a copy of Us and The Girl You Left Behind, but I have, have, have to say the third book in the Me Before You series is brilliant (I also agree the second wasn't very good) so it is definitely worth reading. If you don't like reading 'Becoming' the audiobook is narrated by Michelle Obama and I loved it. I just wanted to put in my two bobs because I have read all the other books you mentioned and had basically the exact same thoughts as you, *nods head in agreement the entire video* Happy Reading! xx

I really didn’t enjoy Us! It was one of the few books I just couldn’t finish because I found it so predictable and mundane (I know that’s kinda the point of the story but I struggled to connect with it for that reason). I’ve never read One Day though so I’m definitely going to give that a go!
Also I’m reading Everything I Know About Love right now and I’ve almost finished it, but like you I didn’t love it as much as I wanted to/thought I would. I feel like it was massively hyped up but it wasn’t really what I was expecting - I’m still enjoying it but I agree that it doesn’t feel too original.

I can 100% understand that, it really is the most mundane story haha - like you say that's kind of the point, but it's definitely not for everyone. Did you like the ending though? I literally did an out-loud happy laugh - for me it was the perfect 'right' ending! One Day is AMAZING, I'm sure you'd love it if you liked David's writing in Us - the story is much more fast-paced and interesting, pinky promise! I felt the same about EIKAL, maybe if we read it back when it was SUPER popular we'd have loved it more - I feel fairly indifferent about it. I'd recommend to people my age and thereabouts but it's not something I'd read again. Yay will do, thank you so much for watching! x

Aww no I haven't I'm afraid, I used to have one with the Royal Mail but the service was so bad for how much money it was - stuff used to go mysteriously 'missing' ALL the time and packages would come ripped open, it was terrible! x

I have just moved to the UK 2 weeks ago and got myself a library card. Libraries arent really a thing where i grew up and English literature was quite expensive usually so you can imagine how thrilled i am that i have so many at hand now, i went today to the library and was so overwhelmed i only borrowed one book! (let me know any MUST reads, bare in mind i have read quite a fair share)

@@MegSays I'm obsessed. I add every book that I own to the TBR shelf so I can get inspiration but also know what I already own so I don't buy multiples. Following people is also great. They have a yearly challenge, where you can set yourself a goal amount of books to read and at the end of the year you get yours stats! x

Apparently not 🙈 I said it on my Instagram story and a few people sent me DMs saying it was wrong, one said it was Afrikaans so I'm not quite sure what the correction pronunciation is! x
